Anyway I picked these people because they don't really have a political stake. Matilda wants to spread Sana to the world. She does not want to convert people into Sanalites as a religion. She just wants others to know Sana exists and that they should watch Sana's streams if they can. Sherry was picked because Saplings asked about her specifically since she nursed the mammoth back to health. Charlie's just the cook. Bear and Jones are security and guides to protect the group.

Hopefully it should be a pleasant visit. Visit shouldn't take longer than a day. The buggy only has four days worth of supplies.

On their own? Most lunaitos would assume it was a sign of the divine if the tech isn't spelled out to them in a way they can understand. A blessing by hime-sama onto the sheep festival for good fortune and soft pillows for all. Assuming that its during the joint festival between the Candy Kingdom and Nasa, it would do a great deal in solidifying relations between the two.

Well I was thinking about what Risuners do to prevent fleas and ticks off of their tails. I figure with their tech level Risuners should be able to make soap out of lye and animal fat with Kronie's help. If they don't have soap then mud would be a good alternative to smother fleas and ticks. Then when the mud dries Risuners would use straw brushes to clean off the dirt before bathing. Shampoos not only clean the tail with soap, smothering fleas and ticks. They also moisturize the tail's fur making them softer and cleaner to the touch. With the right formula the oils can protect the tails from fleas and ticks as well.

Referring to this part in the lore archive: "the use of alternate power sources for use on the ships and allowing complete independence from the sail"

Not ships have been converted/built to be steam powered. One or two frigates are built and there's a steam powered ship-of-the-line planned as well. The thing is although /who/'s navy is supposed to be modeled/influenced by the early US navy irl, /who/ technically is much older than the US even counting the establishment of the 13 colonies or the first arrival of European settlers. Using /morig/'s calculation of the "current year" in Vitubia which is around 1120-1123 VTE, the first use of /who/ can be traced back to ~617.5 years ago. Given in-universe /who/ is supposed to have existed for so long, I found it a little bit unconvincing that /who/ only started seriously going into trade and thus building up their navy in the past couple of decades or century. While I do really want to keep things more grounded and "historical", keeping it at roughly post-Napoleonic, I kinda want to skip the paddle for the warships and jump straight to propellers for the man-o'-wars. The in-universe explanation is that while a couple paddle prototypes have been built, they are limited to riverboats, troop ships and some small coastal defense ships. Since Paddles are unsatisfactory in terms of performance, researchers started to research better forms of propulsion. Propellers are chosen because in models they performed better than paddles.

>>26108256
But that also presents a problem for /nasa/. Since their lore suggests that they have only been here for around a couple years or maybe even shorter. So how are we gonna deal with it? The wormhole screwed with time so they technically skipped half a dozen centuries and only crashed in Vitubia not long ago?

Yeah I kinda ignored it when the VTE thing was being voted on but I have gone back and did a little archive diving and holy molly. I think the current lore is still good, we probably only need to give /who/ a little bit of lore regarding its development along the centuries.

Well, the British navy existed for many more centuries than that without steam propellers being used on their ships. Most of what I've read regarding naval technology (outside of /inf/) has been pretty solidly set in the Age of Sail. I guess we'd have to change this and say we're on the cusp of wide adoption of steam power, so the naval tech level would be about 1830s.

so if were currently in 1750 time then i did have to say this. It's regarding /risu/ and theyre top secret gemstone magic/production. Each gem takes about 2 years to grow out of a gemtree and since 1 gem = 4 gems when fully grown then in 50 years we will start using gems for somewhat rare use among high rank people and those grape agate staffs will be seen among elite forces. within 100 years risuners will dominate the gemstone market and gem magic will be openly public since by then there will be such a massive amount of gemtree production.

>cusp of wide adoption of steam power
It depends on the relative technology level of the different nations. While the pre-established lore suggests that /who/ already has the technology to make marine steam engines, I can make it so that since there isn't really an arms race in Vitubia, /who/ doesn't have the incentive to build a lot of them and that "they have shown themselves to still be too expensive for mass production". There's also the factor that a lot of the innovation and such are pushed by the state and state-affiliated actors so it would take a while before the private sector catches up. I won't and don' want to make /who/ too op.

It's speed of plot "centered" around the "current time".
The "current time" is 1120 VTE, so your story is occurring somewhere around that, maybe 1120-1130 VTE. And the speed at which is occurring is whatever fits best for your story or your preference.
Feel free to pick a specific year to make the job of the eventual timeline anon easier kek.

TRI FLEET MEETS UP AT /SORA/

This is it everyone. The last stop before we reach our final destination of /uuu/ and the 2 neighboring countries. We have reached the unknown land of /sora/. Nobody has any intelligence on this place at all. Not even the deadbeats knew anything about the residents. So we were just going in blind but then again that's what we risuners do.
So after a bit of discussion we all agreed that all we would do here is collect whatever food we could from the locals or even just hike up some trees if any were readily available. As we approached the shore things were mostly quiet. It was actually a bit disappointing but oh well.

Suddenly as we thought the shores were abandoned we heard a strange sound one night. It appeared to be singing so we had a quick stop and investigated. There was a lone girl on the beach singing to us. The language was alien but the music itself was beautiful enough that we simply did not care. Sadly, as we landed a pinisi to greet her she faded away. Was this magic? Or maybe an illusion? Honestly it was pretty weird but really cool as well

We expect to be at the lands of /who/ very soon. Jayawan, the appointed /who/ rep is already super excited. He won't shut up about it actually but we understand his energy. I just hope the /who/ residence like his hyperactivity. Sometimes it feels like that man is made of pure energy. Regardless we expect things to go very well and if things sadly go wrong well we have our deadbeat friends and they have many big guns.

Part of the issue is that I wrote /who/ to be very aggresive at trying to obtain technological innovation and advantage, the original tech level was 18th century to early 19th century after all, steam ships and steam locomotives caused some timeloops too. In modern architecture Marble's used exclusively for decoration. In the past marble was used because it is very easy to carve with stone and bronze tools. Marble is not that useful of a material. It crumbles under pressure. It erodes in wet weather. The sole reason to use marble as a material today is because it looks pretty. That said if you can carve a good looking marble statue then you can sell it for a pretty sum with collectors.

Marble was used in the enlightenment because we were rediscovering lost technology. While marble wasn't a useful building material as we thought it became very popular with stone carvers. Churches love marble. Artists love marble. Because of how easy the material is to work with marble became the go-to material for custom stonework. You might not be able to build a castle out of marble, but you can decorate your courtyard with marble pillars and statues. That's where marble's appeal went to.

Even in China you've got different kinds of stinky tofu. Some have a stronger fermented taste and some only have a slightly tangy taste. Never happened to me but I've heard some bad ones absolutely stink when you put them into your mouth. I got to disagree, liquorice is great especially if you pair it with some milk. The dogshit tofu does hit different though, as you put it in your mouth, your nose really does detect a genuine smell of dogshit, but on your tongue it tastes like some nice tofu. It's a weird experience, because normally tasting food is really your tongue and your nose experiencing the food together.

It's one of those things where there isn't a singular "correct" version, and basically every shop has its own recipe, which is multiplied by the fact that it's a fermented food that doesn't rely on a single microbe to make. Eirunton descends from "Irontown"
"Nianers" = Nyanners
"Pipanian" = Pippa-nian
Vil is their name for Silvervale. The "silver" part is preserved in the more formal version of her name, "Lady Silvur"
Names are all descended from English typical names (except for "Ke", that's from "Kai").

Before the paper work is done and the Risuners are recognized as foreign dignitaries they would probably be required to be accompanied by the deadbeat naval officers and a couple police officers at all times outside of their accommodation. Even after it's done the security would be quite tight and having a schedule to follow means soldiers and officials responsible would drag any Risuners who sneaked off for sex back to their horse carriage or whatever.

Because this got ignored I'm going to say this idea is bad. I'm thinking about writing a summary to end the lock downs.

Summary is simple. The principal gets detained. The master code gets recovered. The principal resigns for his bad decision and loses his citizenship. He becomes a civilian and leaves the station. Half of the Sanalites abandon /nasa/ to start their own settlements with their own laws because they no longer trust the government. Only the elderly dependent on space-age care remain in Lammington Station. Everyone else starts their own farms, build their own houses, and mines their own materials to get away from government dependence. Gold becomes the new currency. Everybody stops trading Fuel Credits. And the government of /nasa/ can't do anything because 80% of the Security Forces resigned to become private militias for the new settlements. And yes, Sanalites bought almost all of the weapons from the station. The only services Lammington Station will provide is food processing and medical. Also centralized communication will shut downnin favor of local intranet via private servers. Mining, recycling, power, and water treatment will be done by Sanalites living outside the station in their own private companies. As for military: the private militias will take over as the new armed forces. This does mean that /nasa/ will become a lawless wild west. And quite frankly its an improvement from the techno-facist security state the central colony has been trying to impose for years.

No more centralized planning from the government. No more regulations. /nasa/ becomes a space spaghetti western. We'll agree on a federal constitution and the Grand Directve but its up to the individual states to make their own living.

I suppose I should figure out what remaining industries /nasa/ has remaining after the crash. I will not include water treatment and energy as an industry because that's a system inside the station.

So far confirmed remaining industries are agriculture via green houses, recycling to re-use and re-build tools and technology, food processing to process harvests into drugs and rations, and medicine which covers every medical procedure in the station. I suppose research and development counts but that's more of a specialized field than an industry. I suppose there's also a digital industry with entertainment and simulations. I can go into that.

The schizo tribes are an interesting topic. In "current" Vitubia, there is a supernatural element to schizos, where they are driven to, and drive each other to madness because of forbidden magicks and knowledge. In the post-apocalypse and post-chuubanite timeline, I guess the schizos would now be the descendants of those schizos of old, but there wouldn't be the occult influence affecting their behaviour, they'd just have faiths and beliefs offensive to the rest of the population. So it makes sense that diplomacy and trade would be a plausible option with them...

Its a family thing. Families want proper burials for dead members. If we piss off the family by denying that burial without explaination then there's a risk of the family sabotaging the ship and station. Ship infrastructure is quite frail if someone who knows what they're doing breaks it. As for indestructible diseases the colony space fleet would normally quarantine the ship or colony sector to keep it contained. Ships and stations have air-tight locks that can isolate sectors to prevent airflow between them. Even escape pods have some oxygen-generation inside them. So they can last for around 100 Earth years. If the disease can't be destroyed by sanitation then it can be studied until a vaccine or anti-body is developed to fight it. And if the virus is a 100% killer virus where humans cannot develope immunity against then a tough decision has to be made. The sector or ship will have to be left abandoned in space like an infected amputated limb. And if there is living people on board who are infected then they're not going to survive anyway.

That said /nasa/ has never encountered a virus that mutated on board of a ship that either died out because survivors built immunity to kill the harmful viruse and we created vaccines from it. Or the virus becomes non-lethal and asymptomatic so it can reproduce and thrive alongside humans. That said if we ever discover Vitubium viruses with mutagenic properties then that's a different story.

I made a company character template that should make the documentation of new companies, corporations, and maybe other entities or factions a lot easier.
Also included in it a kardashev-esque scale for measuring company wealth, because I love cliche fantasy power ranking systems.
https://rentry.org/CompanyCharacterTemplate

Also finally decided on the name for the company setting up shop in /risu/, and made it documentation according to the above template. Its still a bit of a WiP and I do not want to include some of the details in yet due to planning on exploring them in story form first.
https://rentry.org/House_Edelweiss

I have already updated "A visit to Sabatangan" to mention the company name.
Also, the "young mistress" / "Merchant-Princess" present in Sabatangan is indeed the head of the house. The ships currently staying at /risu/ are her private vessel the Chrysalis, and the Company ships Orchid, Snapdragon, and Green Sunrise.

I've included links to these in rentries in the nasfaqg lore rentry already.

The main issue with this kind of stuff is not how strong it is, but that if the other nations see them at all the tech will pretty quickly be copied. "Dear RD-439,
I write to you with good news, i just recently enjoyed some coffee with the diplomats of the republic over here, and they informed me that the Risuners seem to be close to arriving over here, so surely they must also soon arrive at our home too, I know you and some other Onobots have eagerly been waiting at the port for a few months now, so I am sure this news will be quite the happy one for you. However, I also received some concerning information alongside this news. Apparently in the culture of the Risuners it is common to exchange nuts as a form of greeting and good will, wich seems to bother the diplomats of the republic quite a bit. I assume their nuts don't seem to be of the best quality, we should probably consider not importing them from the republic for a while in that case. But even worse was the reaction when I assured them that we would have no problems exchanging nuts wich prompted the republican to question if Onobots are even physical able to do such a feat, the audacity I tell you!
Please make sure to have plenty of high quality nuts at hand for when the Risuners arrive, so we can prove to these hoomans that no one can exchange nuts better than the Retro Reich!

That reminds me, since /wg/ tends to be pretty holo-centric I imagine we have a good amount of imports and exports to exchange with holonations. However, due to the distances involved, I think it would be better to work with /nasfaqg/ as a middleman to handle shipping these goods back and forth. I haven't looked into what we have for natural resources yet, so for now the main export would be our written works. A company interested in selling these over on the holocontinent would be operating primarily out of our eastern ports in the NameTBD Gulf, with the opportunity to construct some warehouses and private docks at one of our harbors for their ships. For imports, there would likely be demand for a large range of items from people wanting to recreate the lifestyles of their homelands. what other competitive model of electric car can you think of? key word there being competitive, as in how well it can compete with non-electric cars. most of them suck, and even tesla is riding on it's own popularity to stay at the level it is at.
also, you seem to misunderstand. second hand nuclear is solar. unless you are talking about a dyson sphere which really isn't as good as sci-fi makes it out to be relative to the costs of making and maintaining one, solar is pretty much only useful as a decentralized, temporary, or secondary power source. if your atv relies on solar and batteries as a primary energy source, it probably wont be very useful for you. plus, nuclear could probably make for a better battery design than solar. all i'm saying is that solar is impractical if you want to power something.

To me that sounds very doable. I could write a small fictional company specialized in that, or I could claim the deal for ChronoBanks, which would actually fit pretty well since I do archive our own non-vtwbg related loreposts or we could just agree on a vague "there are /nasfaqg/ companies operating here" until someone claims the deal or writes up a company (or a number of companies) to claim the deal.

>so for now the main export would be our written work
The services of scribes and archivers would be sought after in nations like /#/ (numbers need to be written up and kept track of!) and /nasfaqg/ (Need to write and translate contracts between multiple languages, as well as keep track of all sorts of numbers and prices and receipts and letters between managers and middlemen, and there is a great demand for fiction and written work especially of the romantic kind in the Serene Republic itself) so I'd imagine these two nations being among those hiring /wg/ scribes and buying their works the most.

It's more likely that the bike would be battery-powered, with the battery being powered by nuclear. And if it was directly fission powered, the reactor would need to be heavily shielded to not instantly give you prostate cancer, so if you crashed even if everything was torn to pieces the reactor itself would probably survive, and if it was broken it would be a warm lump of radioactive material on the ground at worse.

Nope, these are all pure EVs. Hybrids have gotten really good though, almost all car makers havbe hybrid versions of their own lineups, and if you're only doing your commute with it, for many you're running your hybrid pretty much only in the electric mode. ICE mode only kicks in on long distances.

That post you replied to was kind of a shitpost. A nuclear fuel reactor would be impractical for motorbikes due to size. A battery will be good enough. Hell if the bike is portable enough you can carry multiple batteries and swap them when you need them. That said batteries need a shit-ton of lithium to make. Which lithium mining is very devistating to the environment.

That said if /nasa/ can invent an anti-gravity engine using meteorite chuubanite then we may have a short-cut to creating vehicles. The anti-gravity engine won't affect the weight of the bike. Its more like the smaller engine pieces rotate around a power core generating more efficient energy than a battery. Sadly that technology is 20-100 years away. /nasa/ will have to build infrastructure to make micro-processors and super conductors before that technology is possible.

ohh absolutly, when we started brainstormign stuff for /vrt/ and we actually kinda had a bit of a hard time filling a roster i thought to myself how easy it woudl be for this thread.

with blenderanons skills and general love for flags ect i doubt playermodels or logo will be much of an issue either

if anything i feel like finding good chants and goalhorns that feel connected to the thread is gonna be more of an issue here i feel

when most of the other stuff was over, /inf/ wanted to add their island, but he asked them to reduce it's size a few times, and came back reducing it's size a bit more, probably by accident but it was getting heated by that time. he made a poorly timed joke, and then he left when people started accusing him of having something against /inf/. it was what led to a lot of the bad rep /inf/ would get, with one anon from /who/ you maybe? going so far as vowing to oppose them just to make things difficult for them. what happened to the guy who recapped the whole thing after the fact? i remember he always used a picture when he did it, but i can't be arsed to go through the archives and look for it.

Hi sanalite. Im not sure how we can go about co-writing this but some details from my side of things:
Saplings heard you coming before you crossed our borders
Mature sapling (female clan leader of sorts) got a party of ~8 younger saplings together to meet with you
She summoned 3 elder transformed saplings (two Guardians, one Treant) from the older parts of the forest
The Treant will be carrying the clan mother
Guardians will be a distance away, but will be constantly watching
In picrel: Red is where were planning on meeting you, then guiding you to purple to drop off the sammies and talk

That's a lot of Saplings. I fear the Sanalites might feel surrounded. The bread dogs will bark at the approaching Saplings. Don't be alarmed. Bread dogs always bark at strangers. Also Sanalites camped at an abandoned lumber camp on the edge if you don't mind. There was no camp fire.

Animal sounds wont bother saplings. The Treant carrying the clan mother is rather slow during approach, so hopefully they won't seem menacing.
I mentioned this before, but fires are ok, even saplings sometimes use them, just as long as we dont see you light up an acre of forest for fun, you should be fine.

Now Sanalites will draw guns. We won't fire until it's clear who you are. Now Sanalites have pretty good optical equipment. So we'll identify Saplings before they enter threat range and stand down. Now my question to Saplings: Do you have names for your clan mother? If not then would you like me to write the character? Also the younger saplings... What are they like?

I have a question that might be of interest to everyone. Does any nation have any ancient relics of power or ancient/lost technology? (yes i know i have a hard on for magic) but just felt like this might be a decent idea. Perhaps problems with the generals before that could make its way into the worlds somehow? IDK just a fun idea that came to my head. Like maybe hoomans have some sort of ancient wingsuit and theres only one left or maybe saplings have some kind of arcane machine thats doing the sapling conversion and they just dont know it.

A not finalised map for the major cities. Hope it helps with your writing process, with a rough idea of where everything is. Blue denotes ports and Red for major cities. Orange is the capital and the blue circle is where the industrial center is.

>Now Sanalites will draw guns
The forest has memories of these. If younger saplings see them, they scatter, but the Treant and the clan mother keep moving forward, albeit at a more relaxed pace. Within ~200 meters of you, she raises a hand in your direction
>Her name
She would introduce herself as Mater; this is what most call her, but it is more of a title than a name
>Younger saplings
These are young both in terms of age, and terms of "citizenship". They are very skittish, but curious. Like most forest beings they can sense intention, so they really want to meet the scientists and the bread dogs, but if the soldiers are on high alert, they will mostly stay back and watch. Mater mostly brought them so they could experience something new, as a learning experience.
>Mater
She brought the Treant for a reason; you will see her regularly turn and whisper things to the large creature, then listen as it rustles its leaves in reply
I dont like that most of the common art for tree ents have faces; in /uuu/ lore the elder ones are much less anthropomorphic and human looking

Sanalites are often on high alert because of the non-stop schizo attacks last winter. So we're all armed and cautious. Anything that moves we'll point a gun at. That said Sanalites are very disciplined. So we won't shoot unless attacked. When we identify the saplings we will holster our guns. We will not approach Saplings until we are invited to. Once Saplings are comfortable with us then Sanalites will follow Saplings into the woods. Before entering the woods Sanalites will ask Saplings what their etiquette is: the do's and don't's when in Sapling territory. We will follow etiquette as law the best we can.

So before entering the territory what should Saplings know that is culturally taboo to Saplings?
