Honestly /rose/ and /OBSY/ have been flip flopping quite a bit so at this point I'm adding the dragoons and pentomos no matter what. Even if we convert back to /rose/ fully, they're staying as remnants of when we were /OBSY/ because I've put too much fucking effort into this.
Also dragoons probably at the end of the week at the latest. I've been trying to finish the drawings for them, because I want a visual representation alongside my written work. Pentomos are just going to be small refugees that work as a lower class in order to live somewhere where they won't get raped every three posts.

So here's a philisophical question: If humans can go back in time to interact with our monke ancestors should we do it? I know there's a yes or no answer in regards to time travel. However the actual answer is "should we?" First we must ask ourselves how did humans become the apex predators of Terra. The answer is a long one. Humans with their brains learned to control their environments which also controlled the evolution of plants and animals that live in the environment. Even the ability to create fire from sticks and stones can dramatically change an environment. As controlled fire allows humans to hunt in the cold and build homes anywhere.

Therefore if a human were to live in the same time period with our monke ancestors then we would change the evolution our ancestors by building fire and homes around fire. Our ancestors do not have the brains to handle fire to compete with humans. Therefore their hunting grounds, and therefore path of evolution, will change. This is a question that all spaceman pioneers have to ask when they move into an inhabitable world regardless if that world has civilizations or not.

Ah, so Sanalites don't want to make us evolutionarily retarded by not interfering with our natural evolution? That's fair and understandable, however, whose to say that natural selection won't naturally express the best possible genes if genetic mingling is allowed? If we went back in time and fucked our ancient caveman ancestors, our intelligent descendants would naturally favor genes that would mean their survival in whatever environment and those genes would lead to a faster natural evolution of favorable genes as opposed to random genetics. So, instead of abstaining from interaction with species not yet up to your level of technology you should fuck squirrels

>> No.25998607

>>25998254
While fucking your monke ancestors may sound like you're speeding up evolution in practice it doesn't work. We're talking about a million years apart in evolution. Your ancestors and you would be so disimilar in genetics that it'd be like humans fucking a chimpanzee. They maybe 90% genetically similar but they still can't breed. That said you may make some really close friends that way. But you'll also piss off a lot of males who need females to breed.

Luknight Expedition to /nasa/, Entry #3

We've been invited outside of the bunker as hostilities have died down, nanora. Our sanallite host is a wonder with holograms, I've heard, but I regret to have not caught his name.

I've informed him of the Luknight tradition of the Festival of the Sheep, and how we parade livestock and eat lots of milky treats out in the Luknight hamlets. A wonderful sanallite baker supposedly resides in this Kirby village, nanora. Perhaps this festival is still salvageable, nanora.

As for our head baker, he's currently on a diplomatic mission to /uuu/. That said you will love his students. They are artists who make artwork out of pastries. We have one student make "Watamelons" (not to be confused with real Watamelons), which are watermelon treats shaped to look like Watame. A lot of students are inspired to cook sheep-like pastries for the festival. As for activities, do you have any particular games in mind? We can make both physical and augmented reality games. /nasa/ currently has a lot of stored equipment for the Council Aniversarry festival like carnival games. We can repurpose some of those.

Festival specific games include bucking bronco with a Luboar and Lu-hen racing, alongside some foreign-inspired games. Watamates of course brought Rock Paper Scissors over. There's also a common game that originated from the Haatons; Luknights take a large round piece of Luboar meat and throw it as far as they can, with the farthest being the winner.

You know what, I changed my mind, fuck Inkarnate. Saved a backup yesterday, didn't even touch it, says it's a wrong file format or damaged. LIKE WHAT THE FUCK FIX YOUR PROGRAM!! So I won't be messing in it to set new points of interest and region borders, I'll just provide feedback here.

1: If Kirby village is the pod village, then I see no reason for it to be anywhere but at the side of Lamington. We have greenhouses anyway, so it doesn't have to be in a warner climate, and setting it that far south would just make it troublesome to transport food back. And if we go with that, it should just be named Lamington imo, since it would eventually become our capital. We can use the name Kirby village for something else later down the line, like the logging settlement, which I intentionally left unnamed.

2:For the recourse spots, I have no complaints, they are just prospects afterall, just remember that our current sphere of unfluence extends through less than 10% of our territories. A little into the hills behind Lamington, down to the logging settlement, and circling back up through the bogs. Where we currently are, we would have no knowledge of those resource spots, aside from maybe coal. Specially that shoal spot. We wouldn't have clear acces to that for decades to come.
As for the mountain range on /rrat/ border, aside from knowing there are mountains there, we would also have no idea there is iron under them. Again, there is ~5k of us, and we spent most of our time here battling for our lives, just trying to survive. Exploring for resource points just wasn't on the menu. As small as it may look here, if we are still going with the similar-to-earth scale, we would be about the size of Poland or even bigger(hell, looking at the two maps side by side, we might even be slightly smaller than Alaska), so it's not like everything is in our back garden.
Main reason I left the north empty was because we just haven't explored it yet, while for the south we at least know there are mountains and taiga forests on our borders with /rrat/ and /uuu/ respectively.

>> No.26013114

>>26012614
The exploration can be done by probes via drones. We use drones all the time on other planets to probe resources so why can't it be done here? As for resources they're just general guesses where I would think they would be. Not where Sanalites actually knows. Shale isn't happening for 25 years even if we do get lucky finding a well. As for Kirby Village its can be retconned into an outpost more than the central farming hub. There's pods around the station as well as Kirby village. Both station and village have their own farms. Industrial farming is more around the station. Kirby village is more subsistence farming to feed the locals. Also Kirby Village can be where our experimental crops are that we cross breed and test for better survivability in the wild. So is can be general research hub and military outpost.

Lunaitos vary in the weapons they carry, but typically train heavily in one weapon in particular. For this expedition, at least, Citrora's forces are 5 Luknights each of 4 types:

Greatsword Luknights are trained as defensive heavies for protecting vulnerable ranged forces, but have knowledge of a bit more aggressive tactics, and a dagger for tricky situations. Citrora in particular uses a custom greatsword that weighs a bit less than the standard but also allows her to swing more fluidly. Being in her position, she is also given Luna chuubanite-lining in her armor. When her armor is struck, the weapon that struck it gets dulled by candification on it's outermost layers. The lining is prevented from candifying the rest of the armor by a special alloy that is a secret to only the loyal of Forge-naitos.

Mace Luknights are trained as offensive, quick strike forces to shock enemy forces and break their ranks. Their armor is light but large, and they care twin maces and twin bucklers on their arms. Some may trade in their second mace for a large shield.

Shortsword and Dagger Luknights are trained to work in tandem with Mace Luknights, picking off disoriented foes. Their armor is similarly light, but have more plating to cover their weak points.

Crossbow Luknights are trained archers. Their armor is concentrated in the front, and typically station behind defensive forces. Luknight crossbow bolts are sharpened, hardened sugar around a metal or wooden base.

Not quite, when I envision /ag/ chuubanite, I don't envision chuubanite that makes people fat. Instead, I envision chuubanite that works with the flow of a naturally optimized people, fat is simply the excess of energy, the result of abundance and a sign of grand success in a nation. /ag/ chuubanite should set the stage for that excess, the more energy needed in an environment, the greater the output throughout the environment. It wont just be people, fruits, trees, and animals would all be affected by this abundance and excess. They'd grow bigger and in turn lead those that feast on them to grow bigger as well.
Architecture, as /ag/ practices it, is the crafting of this excess and abundance into a form that can continue this process of exponential growth, be that by literal weight gain or by repeated pregnancy to bring more into the world than what was before. It is for this reason that when I think of /ag/ chuubanite, I sometimes envision its refinement as a tower of flowing energy, spreading through other cores in a circuit of plentiful abundance. I'll need to rough some of these ideas out but that's the basis.

-Trek through in-land /uuu/ (Pro: smoother terrain; Con: More time in /uuu/, possibility of running into elder saplings, or other forest beings)

So I just thought up something called a "kettleplant". Kettleplants are small shrub-like plants that have exposed chuubanite crystals wrapped around their branches that are woven into a teapot. The branches are water tight. So no water will drip. How the plant works is you pour spring water into the kettleplant's bowl. Then the kettleplant vibrates, which causes the chuubanite crystals to heat up. The heat boils the water. Once the water is boiled you can put the tea inside of the kettleplant. The kettleplant knows what temperature to warm the tea. If not the Saplings can tell the kettleplant how hot to make the water with their roots. Once the tea is done steeping you pour the kettleplant like a tea pot. Just a thought.

My bad, I forgot to answer earlier.
We could work that out I think, but it'd be a whole thing.
First off, the posts would need to be extremely sturdy and durable to deal with all of the plant growth that would go on around them.
Second, elder saplings would have to mark each of them with special spores to keep the forest from overgrowing on top of them and wildlife from breaking them.
Then, since they're solar-powered, we'd have to plan out a path through the forest that gets sufficient sunlight down to their level (the specs would have to come from your end)
Finally, we still wouldnt be able to guarantee any safety for travelers. While we can make a "best known safe path" and place the spores, the woods are still wild. Some creatures still roam wherever they will, and while very rare, not all of them are friendly to outsiders (or even saplings, in even more rare cases).

Its never guaranteed the guide posts will keep travelers from getting lost. For sunlight I was thinking the posts can be on the forest's edge. On the edge of the woods is where I was thinking /nasa/ and /who/ can have our road. Also the forest's edge would be clear of a lot of brush. So wagons carrying goods shouldn't have too much trouble. Thats a pretty good idea sapling. For sure something we should bring up during the talks with the sanalite diplomats.

Only downside I can see from a spooky story perspective imagine if some creatures of the forest learned that sanalites trust certain colors of bioluminescence. Then they modify themselves to mimic that and lead travelers astray... I just finished writing so Im hyped up on the spooky forest creative thing rn. If we let the Sanalites place their own posts, they would probably have RFIDs or something they could use to very the guide though.

The glow of Safety Moss can be imitated by small mushrooms with poisonous spores that use confused victims' bodies to proliferate themselves.
While mild exposure can lead to minor pulmonary irritation, following the paths of "False Hope" mushrooms will only lead you to more and more, and eventually, your breathing will continuously become more difficult until you fall unconscious and die.
The only way to avoid this fate is to carefully observe the plant glowing as something like a cluster of these small mushrooms at first glance can easily be mistaken for Safety Moss.

/nasa/ would be at a massive disadvantage if we were to wage offensive war with /uuu/. Even with CR-USTs and heavy artillery fuel is limited. Also out of the 5000 or so people we have less than 2200 are fighting fit. To overtake such territory would have to be one hell of a gurella operation.

There's also the lack of information about enemy tactics and units. /uuu/ would send the woods into a frenzy unleashing bears, wolves, lions, giant snakes, and other predators against us. Plus there's their own monster units like Ents that are literal walking trees. No gunshot can take an Ent down as they're practically bullet proof. We would need heavy firepower the likes of air-dropped bombs or heavy tank mortars to blow off enough of the Ent's body to stop them. There's also the spores of the forest which will clog our air-filters and choke us if we run out of oxygen. While the standard suit can absorb musket balls they're terrible at stopping arrows from heavy composite bows and crossbow bolts. We'll need armored suits for ground infantry to have a chance at fending off Sapling arrows.

On top of that the chuubanite in the forest trees have been confirmed to have electromagnetic fields that dusrupt radio communication and fuck with compasses. Spotter drones be impossible to fly in the forest. So infiltrating Sanalites will most likely fall into traps like carnivore weeds that grab and rip apart whatever prey steps on it. There's literal flowers that shoot poison barbs or spray acid. Also every single tree in the forest has the ability to "slap". Take cover behind a tree. Get slapped by the tree.

An offense in /uuu/ will mean heavy casualties and loss of vital equipment. Out of the 2200 soldiers: if we sent 1000 troopers unprepared then we will lose about 700 men. And half of our fighting force is women. Most women will stay behind at the station to defend it. And if we make Saplings our enemy then we will lose the land route to /who/.

Its better to have Saplings as a strong ally than to make them our enemy. I'd argue if Lammington falls then survivors can fall back to /uuu/ for safety.

And they will make an alliance to destroy whatever orbital weapons we put out before they can fire. /nasa/ does military analysis with every nation it meets. Not just /uuu/, but /morig/ and /who/ as well. We assess our odds against other nations in an event of an existential threat or invasion. There's a reason why /nasa/'s main strategy is always deffense instead of offense. An offensive strike will cost us too many lives and arms. The only nation /nasa/ could probably win against on an offensive is /risu/. And even then we'll suffer heavy casualties because we lack the metal to make armored suits.

I guess if /nasa/ wants to prepare for war then there are three things to consider: personell, resources, and propaganda. /nasa/ needs to have babies. Lots of babies. Then those babies have to grow up and become lumberjacks and miners. We need wood, coal, and iron at minimum. /nasa/ will also have to change its speech laws to have unopposed propaganda to groom kids into war. Either that or have lots of gold to hire mercenaries to do the fighting for them. Sanalites will not be content with fuel credits if they're soldiers. They'll want gold and privileges as soldiers. On top of that we have to raise blood thirsty Sanalites who just want to "kill". So we need to groom Sanalites into killing for Sana or honor.

So your pussy principal is trying to avoid war. Good news is he'll be dead in about 30 years. So that's plenty of time to get started raising a generation of warriors. And if your principal walks the plank then you can start preparing conquest plans now. You just need to have an election to vote in Sanalites in favor of war. And his cabinet will follow. If council tries to stop the Senate from declaring war, then hang them as traitors and appoint a new council. It will be easy to transition /nasa/ into a war mongering nation. We just need to get support from the people of /nasa/ (by asking the thread for a vote). Once approved we can start our plans for conquest. To hell with the directive.

That said I don't think Sana wants /nasa/ to conquer the world through violence. If /nasa/ wants to conquer the world then we can do so through culture and technology. We've made friends in all of the council nations quickly. Even if the /rrat/ monks are no longer here. /uuu/ is looking forward to ice cream sammies they can't get anywhere else. And /who/ and /morig/ are powerful trade partners. /meat/ gave Sanalites a way to live without Spacesuits. And /luna/ is in love with our sweets. And while /risu/ will be blue balled, we have exotic nuts to trade. Other than shitlisting /pyon/ /nasa/ has made quite a development without official war so far. It'd be good to prepare for war just in case. But /nasa/ does not need to go on the offensive at this time.

Well the first question I never exactly went into. There would be (alongside nuts) many different fruits and vegetables available. I need to go into the archive to find the list but essentially melons, strawberries, bananas would be pretty big. Corn as well if your near Gaputan in particular. Drinks would be coconut milk (duh) and, again this is something I really need to go into detail and find out about but a shit ton of wines and organic beverages. as someone with Portuguese parents who apparently used to stomp grapes to make wine, I know how that shit works

For the second one risuners don't really give a fuck as long as you don't shit talk Risu herself. The luknights have been chanting LUNAAAAAA during their visit for a while now. And in November you have to give up ALL your nuts when Risu shows up no exceptions and anyone who tires to be an exception during this time will be tossed into geese chamber (did i mention NO EXCEPTIONS) but other than that your fine to worship whoever.

It's established(kinda) that /who/ isn't expecting any visitors so there really isn't anything planned. But there's probably already a roughly planned list of activities that visiting diplomat/leaders would do in /who/, aside from the obvious military parades and inspection. The schedule would also likely include things that the risuners requested but that would be subject to things like time constraints, practicality and security. Things that I can think of that would be available almost immediately when the risuners proved they are diplomats and not just a fleet of random squirrel people include hot air ballon ride, visiting some of the vineyards on western coast and maybe a tour around one of our steam warships. Since i took the whole magic gem idea from terraria originally and have EXTREME terraria autism why not magic metal? Specifically there is a metal in terraria called chrolophyte. An organic ore that spreads and consumes organic material like mud until a certain mass has been reached and is only found in the thickest of forest. Now the power of said metal would NOT be from the game since in terraria metal hardness is all over the place and doing the math.....chlorophyte hardness is 3.5 times as hard as fucking tungsten. Sometimes I forget that meat is /meat/, then I remember /meat/ exists so meat has a double meat meaning. Meat means meat or /meat/ here, which has me meet with a rather meaty concept to grasp.
Sorry, I get this word autism sometimes.

I'm trying my damndest not to have /nasa/ start a war with /uuu/. /nasa/ does not have the resources to start an offensive war. And /nasa/ is still a colony of the Terra Federation. Which means we are bound to the Grand Directive. Anyone attempting to start a war is a Mozzie or a traitor.

sometimes i wonder how /nasa/ does all the things that it does

around 5000 people that had half of them locked up for quite a while yet and very limited resources due to not even really having set up agriculture yet already exporting ice cream adn candy to 2 different countries, forget ships, not even a basic port setup yet already got /meat/ to make them magical tattoos to exist outside of spacesuits. spaceship crashed yet all seems fine besides the engine and no real inconvience to the population.

what besides your grand directive is really stopping you from war since you already said you getting steel ready for trade too so guns should be no issue either for all the population that does nto already have one anyway.

Rosebud! I was wondering if you could have some insights on how Rosebutas might see Deadbeats. Would they have any idea what and who they're looking at? Do they know /morig/ exists? How familiar are they with formal military hierarchies?
Also, what would be their mindset immediately after being rescued from over a decade of inhumane captivity?

That's a lot of really good questions! I can answer them pretty easily too, I think.
>Would they have any idea what and who they're looking at?
With them having been captured so long ago, it's extremely likely that those schizos were the ONLY people they've seen outside of their own homeland. The average Rosebuta at this stage is barely aware of the existence of other beings, few know of the names of other species, and even fewer have met someone not of their own species. They might understand that Deadbeats are, sort of, like them. They might even think Deadbeats could be plant-based like they are, considering the general body shape is similar.
>Do they know /morig/ exists?
Definitely not. They wouldn't even know of a continent outside of their own. As far as /rose/ is concerned, they are the only civilization that really matters. They know of the nijicontinent and it's surroundings, but individuals don't often care to learn about anything outside of their nation. Very isolationist.
>How familiar are they with formal military hierarchies?
Actually, the Boars would be pretty well acquainted with that. It's not mandatory for Rosies, but all Boars spend at least five years serving under what could be referred to as /rose/'s military. Some continue to stay with that military even after the mandatory five years.
>what would be their mindset immediately after being rescued from over a decade of inhumane captivity?
While variation will exist depending on personality, I think I can naturally say it's not a very fun mindset. As far as Rosebutas are concerned, anyone other than their own could be nearly as bad as that big troll. It'll take some convincing if you want them to open up, feeding them and cleaning them up and freeing them will help a whole lot of course, but it's not quite enough for them to do much beyond answering questions. Befriending a Rosebuta is exceedingly hard, double so for these guys who have been brutally fucked up by the only other species they've met. You can expect them to flinch at any quick motion, react with fear or violence upon being touched, and stay on extreme edge during conversation.
To summarize real quick, they'd be very grateful but even more suspicious and wary of anyone other than themselves.

First off we're not sending thousands of ice-cream sammies to /uuu/. It's about 10 baker's dozens and its first come first serve. /nasa/ has "some" infrastructure. Food processing is a factory inside the central station because it is an essential service. Food processing also doubles as drug production because many of /nasa/'s medicines come from distilling chemicals from crops. As for exporting "candy" we're not. Unless you're talking about candy being part of rations. /nasa/ had a stockpile of rations that were about to expire. So we sold many of those rations to /who/, KFP, and /morig/ in exchange for livestock, seeds, rice, and gold. Gold will be used to buy materials needed to build wagons and tools to mine iron and coal. With iron and coal /nasa/ can make lightweight steel by making coke for electric arc blast furnaces made from repurposed scrap. We have some power tools for logging and mining. Chainsaws make cutting down trees easier. And we have asteroid drills that can be repurposed into hand tools for mining. Plus /nasa/ is still learning about chuubanite from the impact crator. So eventually we'll be able to use chuubanite as an alternative to lithium batteries for more efficient tools.

The reason why we have quality of life now is because of deep space age tools surviving the crash. While the tools are few they are efficient enough to have one man do the job of 10 men. Plus we have an information network of databases filled with survival guides, history, and engineering patents and blueprints. And if the database doesn't have a guide then Sanalites can communicate via message boards and online forums in the network to figure things out. A lot of things we take for granted in our modern life today is what's keeping /nasa/ alive now with how few people it has. So we're incredibly blessed that /nasa/ is allowed to have the technology as off worlders. Otherwise we'd be living like cavemen having to do everything by hand with sticks and stones.

That said the drawback is Sanalites have a lack of work ethic and a frail constitution. I don't think /nasa/ Sanalites have the mindset for war because they never really had to kill humans for resources on our voyage. Sure we have simulations but they'll never be like the real thing. Sanalites have gotten lazy with wanting to throw festivals every chance they get when they really should focus on rebuilding infrastructure by hand. Don't think that will lead to a downfall. But it will lead to a rude awakening when Sanalites are almost out of food, water, and power in 10 years.

guess my mind sometimes makes the things sound grander than they really are.

the whole "not used to killing" and "work ethic" thing due to basicly being pampered future people, does however make me wonder a different thing. besides sanalites in the spacestation, wich is basicly an impenetrable fortress to anything but a few countries or giant armies.

what does stop opportunistic bands of bandits or foreign task forces interested in /nasa/ tech for one reason or another from just picking on some sanalites at mines, lumbercamps or other places outside the station.

wouldn't that be quite hard with the limited amount of people around because even with guns something like a night ambush or jsut plain superior numbers would seem like easy tactics agaisnt such people.

Excellent! Extreme suspicion, makes sense. I think I have the right idea then. It's good that the boars will experience with a military, that might be a way to build rapport.
Now I just gotta research how people communicate with people they don't share a language (or even language roots) with.

Simple hand gestures or charades usually works well. Holding an object and associating it with a word helps in some scenarios, like pointing to an apple and calling it so. Or, if you want to skip that, you could always have someone be a translator. While it's highly unlikely that a Rosebuta would understand any Holo language, unless the schizos spoke Holo language in front of them, there's a more significant chance that one of your people knows some Niji language. If you have a couple Risuners and if this is a small deal in the future, one of them might even know a spattering of /rose/'s language. Whatever tickles your fancy most.

1. We REALLY want to get along with /uuu/ and only want to burn them down as last resort
2. Risuners will be content with trading physical nuts and resort to fucking each other if necessary. It's not a pure sex crusade. But sex is very much appreciated
3. I want to passionately cuddle rose anon and let them have breeding sex with me.
4. Gonna look into vtubium since I've kinda already went with the MAGIC IS EVERYTHING route as well as the low tech Indonesian route

And now for questions. I know risu is based off Indonesia but can people remind me what the country more closely resembles climate/resource wise? I would like to have a proper list of food, drinks, crops, nuts etc.

Your all great. Glory to plant people and plant lovers.

Oh, that's good, I totally forgot about the schizo speaking in front of the prisoners!
The schizos were mostly Kronies, so they would have spoken the /inf/ language with each other. The prisoners could have picked up bits and bobs of that over the years...

First off, every citizen in /nasa/ is armed. A citizen is required to carry a firearm on them at all times outside the station. Second, Sanalites do have some combat experience now after repelling schizo raids. Slowly but surely Sanalites are becoming more hardened to the unforgiving environment. The schizos raids which plagued /nasa/ for months have made Sanalites more aware. And so we reinforced our security with both more surveilence and tactics. We still fall victim to the occasional ambush. However Sanalites are learning very quickly. In fact combat training is now required for all physically able Sanalites. There are still some disabled Sanalites that can't fight. But those Sanalites will be trained for surveilence and spotting to aid combatants.
