i think the answer is really that the same things that make her voice distinctive also make the plugins struggle to produce a convincing imitation of her voice. pitch correction is fundamentally always based on using a phase vocoder to reassemble a stack of harmonics after some algorithm shifts them around, and phase vocoders just sound fake and robotic. there's literally no viable alternative in the field of signal processing to replace them at this point.

i also think that she can't hear the damage it's doing (because it's so difficult for people to judge how their own voices sound) while nobody else involved cares or knows enough to identify the problem and ask for it to be fixed. sometimes we'll get lucky and end up with something like renai circulation where it mostly sounds like her singing all the way through, but i have very little hope that her recordings will ever improve. if anything they're likely to continue slowly declining.
