I don't have a lot of options so I'm pretty much limited to Kerrygold or Plugra.
For making your own butter, it's just heavy whipping cream in a food processor, but will it be better than what I can buy at the store? I've only seen one brand of heavy whipping cream so it's not like I can get a premium version of that

It's worth learning but doubt you'll be able to get "better than mass produced" on your first try homemade. Post results

Too tiring, just buy one at a store. Unless you're making a specific kind.

This is honestly the best thread /vt/ has had in months.

No it's not worth it. As in you'll get a marginally better taste but for like triple the cost and 50 times the work.

The benefit of making your own food is the better quality and usually larger quantity than premade, so unless you can make more than what you can buy at the store usually for less money than it isn't worth it. Especially since it sounds like you can't get quality whipping cream.

Unless you can buy your cream in bulk from a local farmer you're going to waste a lot of money.
Just take a trip to a dairy farm and buy a ton of butter there, then you can just freeze it and keep it for as long as you like.
Who's your oshi, butterman?

Butter? No, don't bother with it.
Mayo made at home is worth it though. Fuck the Dukes vs Hellmans war, making it at home is easy and tastes far better than the crap you get at the store.

Generally no, if you buy butter it will always be better than what you can make at home, especially given you lack the skill or tools.
Mass production of food has advantages, especially when it comes to base ingredients like butter. Simplify where you can.
Just buy a nice butter.

Best thing about home made mayo is that you can do whatever you want with it, spicy, sweet, dense. It works

You need to have a good stand mixer in order to get all the liquids out.
I doubt a food processor can whip out the liquids out well enough.

It's worth it if you're making compound butter but in most other scenarios it's just fun to know how. It doesn't take that long and isn't that hard and doesn't cost much so I'd say just do it to say you've done it. Have some fun, add spices or something.
