Alright! I like to think I'm mediocre at names, at least. I'm not the best at figuring out how things plug into the real world here, so it's probably best not to ask me about naming conventions or anything. The most I have for that is naming Sunwalkers after the scientific names for different rose species. Maybe something simple like "Dia"? It might contrast nicely with the Sunwalkers if Tunnelhogs had very short, easy to say names. I'd imagine in a more formal setting they might use their dome as part of their identifier. Say, "Dia of Tosemi". Part of their name could also be intertwined with a particular scent, which might make Tunnelhog names a little confusing for outsiders.

I have another idea for Rosebutas and smells. Rosebutas have piggy snouts. That means they can smell a wider range of smells that humans cannot. What winds up smelling like cotton candy or fresh roses to us has an entire language underneath it. For example every single Rosebuta regardless of species or DNA has a unique scent exclusive to them. So a Rosebuta can not only smell the message, they can smell who wrote the message. Also the language of scent doesn't have words, grammar, or syntax like spoken languages. Instead every microscent conveys a unique feeling that Rosebutas can interpret as ideas without thinking too much about it. The scent language is more about instinct and knowing than speaking or reading.

Just an idea from the guy who proposed sunstones months back.
