They don't get paid at all. Only Cover pays their Vtubers an actual salary. Also less profit sharing, in Niji you won't own anything you make where as Hololive you can own your produced music and make proportionately more money from it

Cover only pays minimum wage, which is a literal drop in the bucket for the chuubas. Also, the chuubas still have to pay out of their own pocket to produce music (outside of Azki/Irys, as they were hired to sing songs that are fully owned by Cover), but they can "sell it" to Cover once it proves popular enough and the talent feels they've earned enough off it already.
