Why doesn't Hololive—the biggest vtuber agency, simply create their own streaming platform?

because that shit costs literal billions and only google is willing to run it at a loss.

>> No.25906161

Attempts before have fallen flat. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it is quite difficult, infrastructure-speaking and monetarily.

>> No.25906188

they already have one

>discoverability
>bigger reach
>higher chance to bring people to watch your talents
>not paying for severs and infrastructure to reach a global market
>most vtuber fans are already on YouTube, because that's where most of the popular ones stream already

Same like why Elon buy Twitter even he can create new Social Media by himself??
The answer is that's not a good investment

Even biggest tech company like Microsoft can run streaming platform to the ground.

And you expected a Vtuber Idol company to run it yourself?

>> No.25906444

>>25905943
Go look up linus tech tips and floatplane. It's a massive investment and risk.

>> No.25906534

You all are retarded, create platform for videos that might get banned on YouTube is enough.
Holosummer is back, ASMR, every chama stream...etc

>> No.25906621

>>25906534
It's already existed but they still need Nico Douga services for that anyway.

I think people on this board forget how tiny Cover and Hololive streamers are.
Even the most subbed vtuber in the world in sitting at less than 5 mil subs, there are thousands of channels with similar or more subs.

Companies as big as microsoft have tried and failed, and cover, while big for a vtuber company, is not that big

>> No.25906758

>>25906671
Dude in 5 years cover will be big enough to just buy microsoft or whatever
Then starting holotube or something will be possible

Sobs don't mean shit, they get way more money than any other people on Youtube.
>>25906793
Not him but their game is probably going to earn more than Genshin and Uma Musume combined

>> No.25907096

>>25907010
Even if holos make good money we're still talking about millions in revenue for Cover not billions.
Video streaming sites are retardedly expensive and you'll always have trouble convincing people to switch.

>> No.25907239

>>25907096
Nah, Youtube is expensive only because anyone can use it, a streaming site only for Holo will not be expensive at all

>> No.25908032

You don't attract new viewers in an isolated space. The aim for every business is to grow and gaining new subs and viewerships that translate into more sales is vital for that. They would cut off their supply line of growth which would kill the business in the long term.
It's also much easier to simply make use of already existing and fully prepared infrastructures at next to no extra cost. The small amount of benefits cover would get out of making their own platform absolutely pales compared to the extra workload and costs this would entail. Not just building but also maintaining.
