I only watch Ame because her model makes me very hard.

If the model is complete trash then there's no way I'll give them a chance. If the purpose is to entertain, I'd rather be titillated than disgusted by my entertainment.

The model is a reflection of the person behind it, especially for indies. If the model doesn't appeal to me, it's unlikely the person behind it will either.

A model can signal a lot about a vtuber's personality.
For example, girls with loli models are usually laid back and based. Any demons or succubusses however are generally uncreative normies jumping on a trend.
This model in the OP screams that her personality is "I'M BLACK YA'LL" before anything else. Wouldn't even give a try.

If the streamer is good and I know that, then the model is largely irrelevant as I usually listen to streams while doing other shit and only tab back if the conversation is something i want to engage with.

Models are at a weird spot for me where I think that they very much so matter in me watching them but at the same time if the person behind it is enjoyable then the model isn't too important to me. Realistically what that probably translates into is something like this creature is an immediate turn away while something that is at least simple and/or a bit rough will probably be passable for me. Most of the time I'll have a window open on a stream in the background while I do something else, so while I expect some degree of a minimum with the model I think it mostly comes down to the actual person behind the screen and if they are entertaining.

Voice is what makes me stay for awhile and vibe to.
Personality and interactions are what makes me stay for the long time.
