why does vtubing attract the most schizophrenic types of people? I mean, of all the otaku hobbies, vtubing otakus are probably one of, if not, the most deranged creatures out there

Blame it becoming mainstream. Since it's a streaming job it became a competition for the top.

The actual schizos are in the yt comments of streams because there's not an edgy or shitposting culture there where you get rewarded for annoying people.

I wish I knew. Vtubing is legitimately more I'll than Dr. Who fans at this point.

Schizophrenia is the cornerstone of idol culture.

-Emotional tension and delusions between the audience and the performers.
-Traces of ancient religious worship behavior (mikos etc)
-Idealized anime style.
-Illusion of accessibility.
-Allure of seiso and light teasing.
-Many hours talking to them triggering a sense of being related/friend/GF with them
-top-down hierarchy (loads of drones competing for attention from a single queen)

That tension between "close enough to chat with" but still with a level of distance fucking destroys schizo's minds, specially with small indies. Also the paranoia of thinking other viewers might be DMing them or being closer with them, and the grooming mindgames. It's a schizo machine, and they are trapped in it.

Other otaku hobbies are generally object oriented instead of social oriented, so they generate endless autistic discussion of minute details, powerlevel wankery and preferences instead of these kind of relationship/selfsteem/emotional/social issues

Similar pattern can be seen with idolfags and kpopfags. Less so but still present with seiyuufags.

I should also note that one of the most known triggers for schizophrenia is the parents being ambivalent to their children, sending mixed signals. This "close but far" mixed signals in vtubing are similar.

But someone is actually aware of my YT social on this site and I want to s t r a n g l e them. Whoever you are. Some 4chan weirdo? A cover employee (not streamer). The shork? The ripperoni? I want to s t r a n g l e you

isn't schizophrenia some sort of brainrot like demensia? why are you making this out like it's some sort of disorder triggered by evnvironmental causes?

It used to be the big theory when I studied psych. Seems to have evidence. Good ol' genetic vulnerability that can be triggered by environmental factors, yeah. Alzheimer is more objectively organic-only in causes and mechanisms (those fucking mangled proteins that keep sticking to each other inside your brain)

They're not, 5ch did a survey on which otaku are the most scary, vtuber fans were in the bottom half while train otaku were top

was that survey after the kyoani burning? that might skew the results

I can't conceptualize in my head over the fact that trainspotting generates the most schizophrenic of all hobbies out there. What's with trains that attracts those people?

I have to wonder if there's a correlation between train maniacs and Thomas the Train Engine.
Like I see shit like Train Simulator having more than like 2k worth of DLC and realize it actually turns enough profit for this to be a yearly release...

It's nit just vtubing it is the fact you are forced into the same arena and have to interact with them daily. Thise schizos were always there.

it's true to an extent but as usual the worst kinds of people are the ones that whore themselves for your attention. 80% of fans are are fine and simply watch without interacting with the community much. it's the one with too much time on their hands that do most of the discussion everywhere; a good portion of which is the loud mentally ill crowd
