It's more like 1/4 of what I should write, since there's still the inn, the city/market, and the shipyard that I should write about. I do like putting details in my writing, since they usually highlights the feeling that I want the readers to feel. Linking to relevant pics and pages is fairly useful, especially when I go with obscure stuff like the fire opal, the various kinds of garnet, and whenever I feel like putting Nahuatl in the text. That said, thanks for the praise! I feel quite honoured to be seen as comparable to roseanon!

Winardi logs ch 4.

We have arrived at Gaputan finally. IT still amazes the fuck out of me that Plumdrop can survive this heat with his armor on considering his candy kingdom is much cooler in comparison. But I've already given up on trying to get him to take it off.
Immediately upon arrival Plumdrop noticed something very familiar. A large circular pad in the town center filled with risuners. When asked about it I told him that all of the major towns has a similar pad. This is where Risu is told to appear every November during the annual nut tribute.

Plumdrop had been somewhat accustomed to the natural layout of a Risuner town. On the bottom floor were large houses made from local tree wood and a bunch of commercial establishments. Many sold food and all of them of course had nuts as an option. On the top layer with big wooden platforms connected by bridges were smaller houses which risuners could climb with ease.
Foreigners could not access these places and it has been stated that the only reason /risu/ even bothered with ground buildings is because of the influence of kronies. Apparentaly it's what the rest of the world did and only risuners can climb trees without a ladder or other tool.

Many of the kids seemed to like Plumdrop here. They ran up to him and said similar comments
"HOW SHINY" "SUCH A BIG MAN" "AREN'T YOU HOT IN THAT METAL CAGE?" "IS THAT A PRETTY GEM!?"
The parents would calm them down at first but some of the parents even had very similar questions. Gaputan was noted for being pretty quiet except for rare /towa/ traders. So seeing luknights must have been a shock to them.

It was here that Plumdrop noted something he had not yet seen. Among all the houses he asked about the small farms that they set up. Normally farms would be much bigger and there wouldn't be any trees blocking the way.
"Well normally your right but since /risu/ grows stuff faster than anyone else we can afford to feed people with just this." Along the trees constantly bearing fruits and nuts Plumdrop could get the idea that this was enough to feed the energetic squirrel people.

OOH OOH OOH PLUMDROP!? HE DID A THING I WAS SO HAPPY! HE PET MY TAIL! HOLY SHIT HE ACTUALLY PET MY TAIL! Normally this big dude was always acting so professional and chivalrous (I think that's the word) but it seems he finally gave in. I almost scared him with how happy it made me and demanded he do it again, brushing my tail right in his pretty gem armor. He told me to relax. But there might be more if I continue showing him around and maybe some candy.

That reminds me as well. He is very used to the sweets so I thought he might like some of our fruits. He said something about his lands candy and that sometimes they use nuts. Sometimes his candy have fruit flavors so he was very much into it. Coconut milk seemed to be a big favorite of his but he seemed to like a lot. Makes sense since you come from candy kingdom you love sweet food.
After we explored the ground floor (he was too heavy to carry to the top) we bunked in one of the risuners houses. AND THIS GUY SLEEPS WITH HIS ARMOR ON!? WTF! Oh well. I wonder which city he will want to see next.

They would. But Diana personally happens to be somewhat of a "take control" kind of character (or a dom for simpler terms) so she doesn't exactly like the idea of "submitting". Well, in this case it might help a bit, since the gem merchant comes from a distant land, so the chance of her playing a role in taking her grandparents is pretty slim. She'll have her chance in meeting the actual raiders if you want

Good that the rest of the team's back in their inn while Diana goes to arrange the gem deal, aye? Though to be fair, the gem merchant's intentionally ambiguous in terms of what she's after, so if Diana prefers to make the deal by giving other stuff, she's fine with it as well.

TRI FLEET MEETS UP AT /MORIG/

Im sure the deadbeats must have been surprised if they didn't keep up with risuner events. All of a sudden we had 9 pinisi and even though our skeleton friends had bigger boats and more of them, oh I bet our nuts that they would have been surprised at our massive rate of BUILDING BOATS!
All 9 ships landed on the western side of /morig/ after circling around them and saying hi. As for the formation, well it was a little difficult but we could all see each other which was good and we did have crew with enough knowledge to know what we were doing.
Luckily enough /morig/ was full of docks so we just showed up at whatever one we saw that didn't have the giant cannon boats. They didn't wanna get in the way of their navy. Of course when 9 risuner boats showed up the deadbeats had a lot of questions. Luckily we had a note for them written in their language made in advance

Hello deadbeats. We are the Risuner tri fleet and it is our mission to go to the magical forest nation of /uuu/. There are 2 other places nearby with possibly some really cool stuff so instead of sending fleets separately we thought to combine all 3 of those expeditions into a big one.
We kind of used your land to see if we could travel in formation and as a secondary launching stage for the long trip over there. If things go wrong and it turns out they are hostile to us, we would like to ask of you something. We have been told the "space people" may be dangerous but have the shiniest and prettiest things. For whatever you like (this can be negotiated and can include nut exchanging if you like) in the event all goes wrong and we lose our valuable crew we ask you take your giant cannon boats and blow them all up.
This is only a backup plan though and it is ok if you say no. Also while we are here we would like to do a very quick trade. We brought some bog iron and will give you all of it in exchange for whatever food you have that will last a while. Fruits too if you got them. Thank you our boney friends.

This note made some deadbeats shiver and others laugh. It was a very strange proposal. We told them never to mention this note to other nations as we do want to be friends with the magic forest people but we commonly have a fear. The /meat/ raiders probably made us look kind of like pushovers and we want to show everyone that we are fucking badass now. Our next stop was possibly /ggg/ but if that was a no go then we will head straight to /uuu/. We had 6 pinisi FILLED with food so hopefully it would be enough.

The baby mammoth is with her herd in the arctic wetlands. In the summer the wetlands are filled with grass. No schizo hunters yet. The mammoth of this herd at least seem to have gotten comfortable around Sanalites. We still can't approach them. But they know we keep our distance. The baby mammoth is thriving with her new surrogate mother. So this story has a happy ending.

The part that goes unspoken is that Moriji would only strike back if actual Deadbeats were involved in the potential conflict; if there were only Risuners, the people's opinion would be to stay out of it, especially if it happens so far away.

The request basically boils down for /morig/'s ship to blow up anything that harmed /risu/'s crew. But it is one cutter and 9 minimally armed pinisi vs rail guns though. So either the deabeat captain would try his damnest to deescalate things or a pinisi was accidentally sunk when /nasa/ tried to fire a warning shot, the deadbeat captain waiting to be demoted when he got back home.

Clipper isn't there to blow anything up, it doesn't even have cannons. It's just there so that if the fleet gets blown up, the Deadbeats will have a justification to come down on /nasa/ with the fleet proper. Kinda like putting american soldiers in a country that do nothing, except if they get shot at it gives an excuse to drone the shit out of the place.
Also, the captain isn't in a Black Fleet officer, he's just a trader. He's carrying a few lieutenants that will observe the proceedings though.
All that assuming Risuners accept, the deal, obviously.
You're right that everyone involved will be motivated to deescalate as much as possible though.

Until the deadbeats failed to deescalate, a pinisi charged forward and unfortunately got sunk or heavily damaged despite the warning. Risuners are headstrong but not braindead tough so sheer moral shock alone should get them to stand down.

Also, we are miles upon miles from the shore. Forget any type of fleet, you getting to us on foot. Through the marshes. The deepest mud you can think off. Couldn't ask for a simpler target practice, really.

You are also forgetting we have a ship that(for the most part) survived an orbital crash. Pretty sure there ain't nothing that can touch us if we just lock our doors and shoot at you from the higher up. Again, the terrain would basically prevent any prolonged siege, as supplies would need to be hauled over *checks notes* 50+km of marshes. Tundra marshes, might I add. Pretty cold up here. So yea, Risuners, Deadbeats or Hoomans, you are welcome to try and get us. We had plenty of experience in worse conditions in the last months with schizo raids.

Am here, cunt. Reasonably drunk, as is tradition for mondays, so here goes: Why do we even need the council and senate was it? I can't remember the other one. Anyway, they seem like an ok idea on paper, but at this stage, they just seem out of the left field for the narrative. We have both been writing up till this point like the Principal is the ruling authority, then all of a sudden, when we were THIS CLOSE to wrapping everything up, these two entities with power over him spring up out of nowhere and start slamming down the rules. Why? Seems to me like unnecessary padding to prolong the story arc. Not to mention it creates loopholes. Why would Principal, if he isn't the top of the top brass hold the required clearance to COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN MOST SYSTEMS ON THE STATION?! Hell, if we are going with this setting, Council would probably have to unanimously agree to even reach a clearance of this level. It just doesn't make sense to my small brain.

That is not to say I am totally opposed to the idea, It's just that, at least for me, it would be something that would spring up after the lockdown ended, the new directive was agreed upon, and Principal, of his own will, relinquished his duties, leaving others to fill in the gap left by his departure.

Then again, I am just a Cunt Sanallite, so feel free to ignore me and continue with the story. As for help with the warcrime charges, idk, read the geneva convention or something? I have 0 knowledge on this front, and right now, am in no state to start researching it.

So someone at council would have had to agree with the lock downs for them to happen in the first place. That could be what leaves the Principal off the hook. Council agreed with him to lock down technology. Either council was setting up the principal for impeachment and he fell for it or the principal stole the master code and took command of the system. And I suppose the arc should have ended with the principal getting shot.

>Gustus Albiji is an experienced Deadbeat trader. Profit motivates him, but when the cards are down, he would die for Mori her island.

>Lieutenant Justicia Kinui is a promising young officer of the Black Fleet. She graduated from the Southern Naval Academy with specializations in biology, chuubanitology and botany. Her previous assignments put her in Risuner territory, where she was familiarized with their culture.

>Lieutenant Desuvius Akai graduated at the top of his class at the Naval Engineering Academy. Whelp, the damage is done. Evidence points that Alexander Jason Steele abused his emergency power as principal who locked down the station. Effective immediately Principal Alex will be removed from office and imprisoned, not exiled, for the rest of his life. Council has voted to restructure all of the permission systems inside the computer system so only they have control over emergency functions like self-destruct and lock downs. Senate has voted to change the law so that term limits apply to executive staff, Principal included. After this law passes a new principal will be voted in by the Senate.

Also from now on all trade deals with other nations will have to be approved by the senate and council so long as they do not violate the Grand Directive. Also only Security Forces will be allowed to carry weapons from now on. All citizens must turn in their guns to security forces. There will also be a new social credit system that monitor's Sanalite's behaviors encouraging them to "follow the law or face penalties". The tyranny of Alex is over. Now life can get back to normal under the Grand Directive as Sana intended.

So I have a few guesses on how Alex was able to lock down the station.

-Council is a recently newly added government by Starfleet.
-Council was sloppy with permissions in /nasa/'s system which allowed the principal, the executor of law, certain permissions that he probably shouldn't have kept.
-Alex exploited these permissions to lock down the station in the name of the Grand Directive bypassing council's orders.
-Alex simply saw an exploit in the system and took advantage of it.
-/nasa/ is a fairly old station. So many of its systems still need to be properly updated.
-This will be an opportunity to fix the permissions inside the station to where they're suppose to be.
-Starfleet still orders council to build a social credit system to encourage following the law. This still needs to be debated.

I'd talk about this in /nasa/ but they pretty much don't care about this project anymore. So I'm asking here.

Something I did mean to touch on yesterday: the biggest issue with what happened wasnt so much the surface issues of agriculture at shared borders, as much as it was mixed communication. /uuu/ has a connected network of roots which saplings use to communicate with the forests and each other; we tend to be very "hive minded" in a sense; so when multiple sanalites each started saying different things, all communications with us broke down. we expect to speak to a united entity.

Ok, this was actually cathartic. Not anchoring it, for obvious reasons, but hey, if /nasa/'s rep wants to anchor it, feel free to do so.

There is also a continuation of this, involving a janny, but I felt like it took away from the general vibe of the story and lean too much into occult, as well as being maybe slightly too big of a twist, so I cut it from the final entry. >> No.25682272

Been thinking about /nasa/'s government. I guess the first thing we should acknowledge is that /nasa/ is not a true democracy nor republic. It is a military heirarchy structure in the way a naval ship is. While /nasa/ does have democratic processes for the people to manage themselves they have to get approved by the top brass. /nasa/ also has courts which interpret laws layed out by Starfleet. The flaw in /nasa/'s government is that the top brass can override any requests the people vote for. Making /nasa/ a dictatorship. The Principal shutting down the station has ultimately backfired. /nasa/ understands it now lives under a dictatorship and will do everything in their power to overthrow the Principal and his chain of command. Perhaps the principal did this to teach /nasa/ a lesson. They cannot let one man hold all of the power. They will have to figure out how to restructure themselves to be more independent. This way a tyrannical dictator cannot take over /nasa/ ever again.

If Starfleet was still in contact, Principal Alex would have been executed for treason. Then Starfleet would appoint a new Principal in the station. Hower Starfleet is not here to save is. Therefore its up to the people of /nasa/ to mutiny and overthrow the principal. Even if this means having the station lock down forever. /nasa/ will have to figure out how to survive on their own.

I suppose what I need to do is scrap everything that I have written and start all over again. I am requesting https://rentry.org/MeetingAtMiks to be removed from the archive as it is no longer canon. Until we have an official outline of /nasa/'s government and how it works the story cannot continue.

Fisherman 2
Short story in the port city of the Republic

"Fucking horrid day today" says the fisherman as thunder strikes. "Couldn't get a single catch today, can you believe it"
"'Course I fucking can, I've been stuck on this piece of shit boat with you for days"
"Haha lighten up mate, we're arriving just now, I think I'll go for a nice cup of coffee when we get there"
"I'm going to sleep like a log, my body's all sore from this shit, I should find another job"
"Sure then, I've heard there's a lot of new jobs at the inner country, factories and all"
"Nah fuck that, I'll find something on my own"
After hearing his coworker rant about how this job sucks, the fisherman can only think to himself that he probably will never abandon this job, it's pretty neat after all.

-----

Once in port, the fisherman has delivered the merchandise, a tad bit less than usual due to the wills of the ocean, but it is what it is. Today is a coffee day, nothing like a warm cup of coffee that doesn't suck, the fisherman used to go to shitty coffee shops until he found the one he liked, and the instant coffee that he takes on trips to the ocean frankly tastes like mud, sure it does the job but it doesn't even compare to a proper cup, those in the coffee producing nations must be blessed with good cups all the time, or maybe not, there's probably bad coffee everywhere.
Walking the streets, it's pretty calm with the rain and all, very few persons walking, very few markets open, the soldiers are just shooting at the target ranges, it's good how people don't like getting in brawls when the weather is all dark and stuff, makes it easy to trip and eat dirt, the fisherman knows from experience.
And look at that, how easy it is to get to the famous coffee shop "Étranger" when there isn't a mob of violent assholes in the middle.
"Hello"
"Dry your boots first!" says the shop owner as he points to a towel on the floor
"I'll take a cup of coffee and a brownie today, mate"
After wiping the boots, let's see who's on table 3 today. Oh it's the dentist, that madman.
"What's up dentist, still torturing your patients"
"They do it all to themselves, really, what about your teeth fisherman? they good? I could check for you if you want"
"Now that's a classic dentist response right there, but I'm going to pass, I brush 'em everyday!"
"Here is 2 cups of coffee, a brownie, and one coffee cake" Delivers the server.
"I'd say I do a great job, even our server here let me check his teeth and it all came out good"
The server simply shivers and turns back quickly.
"Really now? You left the poor guy scared a bit there"
"He's just funny like that". The fisherman and the dentist both take long sips of their cups.
"Anyways, I've just gotten hired by the university to give medical classes, feeling pretty good"
"Oh dear, an entire generation of psychopath dentists like you, that can't go wrong"
"You say that as if every other dentist wasn't as sadistic as I am, hell I'd even say I'm on the nicer side."
"He's not!" shouts the coffee server from behind the counter.

-----

"See ya later mate, let me check your teeth sometime!"
"When hell freezes over, maybe"
Slam!
"What a scary friend he is" mumbles the fisherman to himself.

I've been losing way more sleep than I should on this. Being sick does not help. Anyway Starship Troopers is pretty basic to understand.

Anyone born and naturalized in Starfleet territory would be civilians. Civilians have civil rights and protections but they have very little influence in government. Citizens have privileges to influence government, namely the right to vote, the ability to hold public office, and the right to own a firearm. But citizens also have duties and responsibilities to that government such as being drafted to war when the time comes.

To become a citizen a civilian who has lived in Starfleet for more than 10 years must voluntarily perform service to Starfleet. Voluntary service to Starfleet includes both military service and civil service for those with varying degree of ability. A civilian who's disabled that cannot join the military can instead become a citizen by joining the postal service, the tax audit service, or the aeronautics engineering team as examples. Also citizens must have a clean criminal record or at least have their criminal records attoned. Citizens who commit felonies for example will be stripped of their citizenship and barred from their citizenship privileges.

Civilians do have property and privacy rights. Civilians can own a business. Civilians can build and own vehicles. Civilians cannot have their privacy breeched without due process. Civilians can live lives as we do today. However civilians do not have influence in the laws that govern their lands. Civilians can persuade their fellow citizens to vote on behalf of their community. But its up to the citizens who vote representatives in office.

I need a bit more time to figure how the offices work. But this is how Starship Troopers kind of did it. I think Sana is mericratic. She would want those most qualified in their positions to hold office in government rather than someone who doesn't know what they're doing. They also have to be elected by people that know what's best for everyone and will make sacrifices when the time comes.

Rosebutas are considered adults when they reach their maturity at ten years of age, but there's another ten years of servitude to the Theocracy used up before they're allowed to really do whatever they want to do with their lives. So, the age of consent would technically be ten years of age, but socially it's more like twenty years of age.
Well, that's for Tunnelhogs. Sunwalkers can do whatever at the age of ten because their society isn't nearly as rigid.

Age of consent in /risu/ would be 16 as I believe it is in Indonesia. I got mixed results when searching but it makes sense. Something I will say since it is a very important part of their culture is that sex education begins at the age of 12. Women of /risu/ are taught that but exchanging is the way of both genders and it is the duty of both men and women to taste each other's nuts as well as to ensure a future population. The idea of a 'slut' in risu is non existent. Both genders are just as open. Gender equality in sexuality, economics, political power, pretty much fucking everything.

Luknight Expedition to /risu/, Entry 5

Gaputan is a beautiful city. The trees are tall, but do not block the sea breeze. The Risuners are also growing on me, with their fluffy tails and quick nature. I have removed my gauntlets a few times to feel the fuzz of their tails with my own hands. The Risuners ask me to remove more; I admit, their country is much warmer than the Himedom, but I fear leaving my armor off will leave it vulnerable to theft by a crafty or ignorant Risuner. I should consult with the others to see if we could bathe in shifts, nanora.

Speaking of the others, Lady Toffy has been teaching some of the Risuners basic swordplay and armor use. Though the Risuner's land is rich in iron, alas, we did not bring any skilled Luknights of forge and fire. Thankfully, wooden armor shall suffice for training. The Risuners are passionate to learn, but their form is lacking, and I hope they will not injure themselves, nanora. Sir Sucre has taken the questionable task of satisfying the Risuners' requests for 'nuts', leaving his armor with me while the exchange is done. It feels very... Bunaito-ish, but after their repeated and persistent requests, I understand this may in our best interest as Luknights of diplomacy.

As for myself, I have been enjoying the company of the Kenzoku traders in the area, and the local establishments catering to them. They have much more experience in Risuner diplomacy than I, and had many useful insights. Being inside bars was also a great way to shake the many children following me around. Then again, I do like the children. I hope one day, they may visit the kingdom for more of the 'sweet nuts' I gave some of them.

Our next move seems clear. The Luknights of the other exploration party have suggested moving down the road to Kenkerto, after hearing rumors of a second race in this region, a race of time goddess worshippers. Winardi confirmed their existence to me, and in the interest of exploration, I believe we should continue in that direction.

I don't know if I can explain all of Starfleet's political structures within one post but here goes.

The Intergalactic Terran Federation is an alliance of Terran (Earth Human) nations that claim territory throughout the galaxy. They travel the stars through a fleet of ships known as Starfleet. The capitol of the Terran Federation is their solar system of Origin: Sol. Their home planet is Terra (Earth). The Terran Federation has only colonized roughly 5% of the Galaxy. Colonization is slow as traveling between solar systems takes generations as it is impossible to travel faster than lightspeed.

Governments are divided based on solar systems. Each solar system has its own central station run by elected officials in a republic style election with electorial college. The EC is divided between "sectors" of the solar system. In the example of Sol, Terra and its moon, Luna, is one sector. Mercury and Venus is another sector. And Mars is its own sector due to being close to the asteroid belt. The sectors are also divided into sub-sectors. Sort of like how states are divided into counties in the US. They too have their own EC. And then from sub-sectors come states of the world, from states to provinces, provinces to counties, etc.

Each state has their own government which could be communist, representative republic, multicultural democracy, the EU clusterfuck, etc. Each state has to vote or appoint their representatives who then vote like ministers in the sub-sectors. And then sub-sectors vote their reps for sectors, who serve as councilors for the system. Obviously there are time limits and term limits for how long and how many times a councilor or representative can serve. These people are mostly legislators. There are also executors and judiciaries for varying levels of government that are voted on as well. So that's the federation but what about Starfleet?

>> No.25711193

Turns out I can't. Anyway about Starfleet. Starfleet too has their own representatives. However Starfleet travels between solar systems with centuries without contact. So they're not as influential in established government. Their main goals is to locate new solar systems and assess them for resources and living. Originally when Starfleet finds an inhabitable planet they begin colonizing that world for themselves. However after wars erupted over who gets to colonize the worlds and even destroying them Starfleet issues the Grand Directive. The Grand Directive is to prevent Terrans from exploiting the planets to their destruction. This also includes directives when handling sentient and sapient native species as well. Starfleet is broken down by classes of ships. You have the Colony, which is the biggest ship in the fleet holding most of the civilians. There are also smaller colonies that orbit the big colony called Orbiters. /nasa/ is suppose to be a orbiter class ship. That's why it survived impact. Then you have the Miners, ships that mine and transport resources in space to colonies for processing. Then you have Transport ships that transport resources from the Colony to other ships in the fleet. From there you have your military class ships. Your flagships, your carriers, your destroyers, fighters, bombers, etc. The military ships all are commanded in typical navy/space marine structure. The Colony, however, has its own government including lawmakers, executors, and judiciary.

The judiciary is the council. They interpret laws like judges. In the Colonies they are apponted by the Principal, who is chief executor and commander in chief of the Colony military. Orbiters also have their principals. However their councils are appointed by the Colony Principal. And then you have the Sector House of Commons and the Senate. They are voted in by theit colony's citizens. Council and Senate vote in laws that affect either the central colony or the orbiters. There are also local governments for sectors of the colonies that have their own voted reptesentatives and judges.

As for /nasa/ their Orbiter is jokingly named Space Austrailia. We're made from colonists who got kicked off the central colonie for being shitposting assholes. But we're useful and resourceful to the main colony. So they kept us around...

...At least until we encountered the inter-dimensional vortex. However that's for later.

No archive yet. Still pending review from other Sanalites.

Without FTL the colonies and established systems would be very autonomous with little to no trade between the systems & colonies, much less to Sol system. And due to the sheer distance, maybe it's better to have the grand directive be established ever since the first Starfleet was launched or immediately after the first Starfleet screwed up (and the federation had to nuke them or smth). Do the Sanalites have FTL communication though? How do they even receive broadcasts from Sana? Is Sana in Sol (or other) system or in the colony?

>> No.25713051

One more thing about the Principal. The Principal is the chief executor of the station. He is also the administrator of /nasa/'s computers. He holds the master code, which could technically be overwritten with impeachment if found guilty by council. The master code is necessary to start the station's self-destruct sequence and lock downs if necessary. Everyone has some input in the computer system. As for the master code, in order to override the system the old code has to be retrieved. In the situation the old code is destroyed a new code can be made. However generating a new code would take about a year. So its more convenient to get the old code back. In the Orbiter the only other person who would have the master code is the Core Colony Principal. Either way the Principal is fucked for his shitpost of closing down the colony.

Other sapling here, personally I like the idea of having our lore told through the expedition of other factions like /who/ or the risuners who seem excited to explore. The mysteries surrounding the inner forest could be explained due to the fact no explorers make it out of such a deep level alive

As an adendum, I'd like to keep the deep forest as vague as possible. While newer outer-layer saplings can only speculate with tribalistic tapestry and paintings of what could lie deep within as only the most ancient of saplings and the Kirin that possibly exist are entrusted with the Forests deepest secrets within the Cradle.
