Or could it be that she's been able to tap into the larger otaku subculture of gaming, manga, anime, illustration on the japanese internet where she is still going viral? A big reason why I think the vtuber scene has stagnated is that would-be fans in this broader demographic are repulsed by the shameless zeal of current fans. Salome has been able to overcome this by bringing in enough people that there isn't the sweaty atmosphere of degenerate fandom spewing out from the chat. That's why average corporate vtubers plateau so hard, they have instant access to a large pool of viewers, but it's more or less a hard cap. We are seeing something different here.
