25339513 No.25339513 [Reply] [Original]

This is sort of a followup to my previous thread (>>25286681). That one got archived too quickly and I have something to inquire about.
In any case, while I am appreciative of the anon that told me that Melissa's membership was going to close soon (>>25298871), I didn't know that her membership content was going to disappear at the same time and that her channel was going to get nuked so quickly. Someone already archived the channel, so I'm not worried about that, but did someone archive the membership content? I joined the membership to do this, but I had to work so the content was nuked before I managed to archive anything. I would appreciate it if someone had the archives for her membership streams (and preferably also her community posts, both member ones and others). I feel really bad not having been able to get the membership content. If I knew it was going to go away so quickly and that her channel was already archived, I would have managed to do it.
Someone please help me in this

Looks like Meli's Twitter is deactivated, so it should still be possible to archive everything before the 30 days is up. I'll post a link to the archive if anyone wants it. I can also upload the public community posts from her Youtube channel once I remove any personal information from the metadata.

Archive contains 8111 tweets, 8 community posts, 10 emotes. Twitter media was scraped using gallery-dl (387 jpg/83 mp4/521 json), Twitter Media Downloader (387 jpg/81 mp4), and JDownloader (305 jpg/73 mp4/830 txt). You can find direct links in snscrape or Twitter Media Downloader (more readable version). I personally recommend just grabbing twint and gallery-dl for the most complete tweet and media collection.

Here are the commands I used (without optional flags):
gallery-dl --range 1-1094 --write-metadata --mtime-from-date https://www.twitter.com/melissa_2434
snscrape --jsonl --with-entity --since 2020-01-27 twitter-user melissa_2434 > melissa_2434.json
snscrape --since 2020-01-27 twitter-user melissa_2434 > melissa_2434.txt
twint -u melissa_2434 -o melissa_2434.json --since 2020-01-27 --json
twint -u melissa_2434 -o melissa_2434.csv --since 2020-01-27 --csv
If you'd like to scrape more than ~3200 tweets, download this fork of twint "https://github.com/woluxwolu/twint"

Thanks for keeping the thread alive, melibros. Wouldn't want anyone to miss out on Melissa's soulful drawings.

One last bump before this illiterate /g/fag goes to sleep. Might be a good idea to archive Meli's roommate channel, too; as they're known to nuke their accounts.

These are the commands I use to make things easier:
yt-dlp -o "%(title)s/%(upload_date)s %(title)s -%(id)s.%(ext)s" --write-description --write-info-json --write-thumbnail --convert-thumbnail jpg -f bestvideo+bestaudio --remux-video mkv --write-subs --sub-langs all URL
yt-dlp --flat-playlist --write-description --write-info-json --write-thumbnail URL
ytp-dlp --download-archive archive.txt --load-info playlist.info.json -o "%(title)s/%(upload_date)s %(title)s -%(id)s.%(ext)s" --write-description --write-info-json --write-thumbnail --convert-thumbnail jpg -f bestvideo+bestaudio --remux-video mkv --write-subs --sub-langs live_chat URL
First command is for covers with subs. Second and third command is for playlists of streams.

Each line is a separate command. The scripts require Python. Install twint using "pip3 install --user --upgrade git+https://github.com/woluxwolu/twint.git@origin/master#egg=twint" if you get an error the first time (need git for Windows). You can view the HTML files in your browser. Right-click the .json files and open with a text editor.

The .csv file didn't come out as well as I would have liked it to, so I'll probably tweak it when I wake up.

I opened the json files in browser and I am getting a bunch of text. I assume this means that while I can view the text, I cannot view it in a "tweet" sort of way? I downloaded your files (thank you for that btw) so I assume I don't need to actually use the commands this time (but will be useful next time so thank you)? I am just a little confused since I'm new to the json stuff. When I archived otogibara's community stuff, I just copy and pasted each individual post into a txt file and labelled them with the dates, then downloaded the pictures and referenced them where necessary in the txt file (didn't know how to do twitter things).

Depending on how this goes, I might just end up using the json files and stuff to do the exact same thing for meli's community and twitter posts if I can figure out dates

Found the video of her saying why she's leaving to a certain extent.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIy4TfOkFdA
The thumbnail is clickbait, but I was kind of right in my other thread that she wants to go away to travel a bit, but also she wants to get away from the internet, and has been less and less interested in it. She doesn't feel like she can get away completely since a vtuber needs to be online, so she's leaving.
Her saying this, I feel like we should archive her roommate's channel and twitter since she might delete them and leave. Just thought I'd mention it in case any other anons want to archive the stuff as well

.json files aren't outputted in a readable format, as they're only meant to contain metadata information. They're basically plain text documents in case someone creates an API in the future. Try the .csv file in twint if you'd like to go through the tweets chronologically (although I still need to run some scripts to change the time zone back to JST).

>>25381146
Yeah, Meli had around 9804 tweets, I believe. As with the Twitter media scrapers, it's always best to use multiple tools; however, snscrape and twint both return 8111 tweets. You can force retweets with twint or choose to scrape the entire timeline, but doing so brings back a limited amount of tweets.
