Since Kizuna Ai showed up both corporations and e-celebs notice the trend, jumped on the wagon, started cashing in and nothing changed since them. Your chuuba collabed with someone? Money. Hololive not collabing with holostars? Money. Cried about something? Money. Said they love you? Money. Le meme? Guess what. Every breath they take, every movement they make and every single thing they say is for money and money only and since otaku culture are full of gullible and naive people they swallow all that crap without thinking once.
