I think it's because using Anon gives the writer a small level of disconnect that lets them be treated as a character rather than as a literal Self-Insert where for the most part ffnet SIs are supposed to literally be the author.

I think "Plot with Porn" can be pretty good, even erotic at times if not necessarily so while still telling a solid narrative. "Porn with Plot", however, tends not to work unless extreme care is given to pacing.

The problem is that in the latter case, you have to worry about both regular pacing and erotic pacing. If there's not semi-constant reminders of the erotic/fetishistic aspects of the story peppered throughout the primarily narrative-driven sections, then readers will lose their boner by the time the actual sex scene starts and it won't serve its purpose properly. If you ever need to dump some serious plot points/exposition/whatever, you then need to have a long-ish, slow buildup divorced from all that shit to get readers in the mood again before the actual erotic payoff.

I've been thinking about the first chapters and i think they're looking pretty good but there's a small problem, i want to make a proper introduction to the scene and the characters as well as start the main plot but doing it the way I want to would make the chapter a bit too long, I personally don't really care about it but I thought I might ask other anons if that's a problem or not. After the first chapter everything will advance a bit faster so it'd be a one time problem anyway. What do you think?

Hey AA, sorry for the trouble, but is there any chance you could give me an explanation of how Coco's house is laid out? I've been re-reading the first 4 chapters of HF, and I'm quite confused. There's an internal courtyard, bordered on at least one edge by a glass hallway. Anon's room is supposedly in said hallway, which is hard to reconcile with the later mentions of spare rooms in the same hallway (see Polka in Chapter 2, FBK key test in chapter 4). Are all the spare rooms along the outer wall, opposite the glass wall looking into the courtyard? How large is the courtyard? How do the hallways connect to the entry room?
Chapter 4 also mentions that Anon sees Coco, Marine and Polka all drinking on some "plush chairs" immediately after teleporting up from the ground floor. It also indicates that this room is directly connected to a hallway that eventually leads the hallway with his room. This implies his room's hallway isn't directly connected to the entry room, but what does he pass through on the way? As for the entry room, what does it contain? It has chairs, but is this referring to lounge chairs? Is this a guest entertaining room with a coffee table, open window, comfortable lounges, etc. Or something else?
Basically, I'm struggling to visualise how the courtyard works with the hallways, the drinking/entry room, the training room, the kitchen and the dining room. The layout is confusing, and I'm not even certain what style of interior design is used (which would possibly help), because it's only described as "looking much like the home of a noble you'd see illustrated in a book".

While not on purpose, I never properly described the layout of the setting for my place, because it grew along the with the story. This mansion started off with just the living room and bedrooms but I had to keep adding shit, so that's one somewhat unorthodox way of creating a place in a world. When it comes to describing a setting I think it depends on how complex the place is, how much time your characters will be spending there and how much you want your readers to fill the gaps for themselves. Readers will always make assumptions, so a lot of it's about how specifically you want them to visualise something.

It was a joke about the turns of the circuit. The halls are long and the rooms they connect to, due to the nature of the house, don't necessarily make sense given how big they can be inside and can connect to deeper rooms within, etc. If one were to actually explore and take room after room, they'd very quickly find themselves in a House of Leaves situation.

I agree with the other anon here, the writing is way too clinical and detached that were it not for me being intrigued at speculating what kind of shock fic this would have been I'd have probably have dropped reading the fic. I think you need to work on getting the reader more immersed and attached to what you're writing.
