I sincerely think Salome has very little overlap in style and audience with (let's say) Kuzuha, Kanae, Ange, Sasaki, Chihiro and most of the company heavy hitters.
I think she has a huge overlap in style with Toya (for instance), but an even bigger stylistic overlap with the cute girls going cute things across the company borders

Assuming they're really new blood from outside the vtuber sphere, this new audience is not tribalistic and are likely to look around for comparable entertainment. In the odd chance they find it on other companies (Hololive, VSPO, 774 Inc) they won't have any qualms in watching the two of them, the three of them or however many of them.

Usually each of these companies rely on the "box" effect to, well, box the audience in but Nijisanji didn't really cultivate it. It is prime time they start doing so, otherwise they may end up feeding their very competition.
Someone mentioned that Tamaki Daruma interview MAGNIFICENT number might have happened because of a "waiting room effect", people waiting for Salome searching around for something to watch.

Bottom line is: it would be very advisable for Nijisanji to find a way to "box in" the incoming audience otherwise they'll end up growing the whole field instead of just themselves

Takodachis are probably one of the best mascots in all of VTubing, and even they have lore drops here and there courtesy of Ina.
And the Tako ink - drawing connection/eight hands drawing stuff blended seamlessly with her drawing ability, adding more lore.
Calli had the Reaper/Rapper rhyme, and her references to slayin/killing gave her an opportunity to incorporate lore into her music, enhancing the initial impact.
Kiara managed to develop her fanbase into a fucking cult thanks to all the initial hate against her + her restaurant owner self-lore (which also gave rise to a lot of fan content).
I personally find her lore the weakest, even behind Gura, but that may just be because her voice filtered me hard.

It's stagnated across the board, for everyone. All EN Holos regardless of how much they stream, what their content is ect. Even on twitch which is fairly wide open and theoretically can get some really big numbers, they top echelon of vtubers has ran headfirst into a wall at about 10-12k CCV and can't get over it. Everyone else is milling around well below that. Even the grand experiment of male vtubers has produced thoroughly mediocre results, having to mostly rely on the Chinese to carry them. Holostars EN can't even seem to get enough qualified applicants. Even Japanese with partial EN audiences like Pikamee have fallen off the map.

I'd argue that EN only seems like it won't grow because the first batch of EOPs was the turboweebs who got into Vtubers before HoloEN and were forking over enormous wads for double-priced merch (merch + shipping), and is currently buying cases of the Weiss Schwartz Hololive packs, etc. People who aren't actively involved in the animanga scene probably still have no idea what a Vtuber is. Her logic seems to be that split up stream means people will leave between. Raids could solve that now but it would likely cut some off. It isn't quite like Koyo where she can somehow do 10 streams through the day. Splitting game and super char might be an idea, but if Kiara tried a morning/midday/evening schedule she'd be dead by mid brunch. She has a zone where she can be awake enough to stream.

Plus her content isn't really that varied. Her game streams are zatsus, her SC readings are zatsus, her collabs are zatsus with 1 hour zatsu at the end. She doesn't like to do zatsu streams tho.
