Fluent in speaking and comprehension. Reading is maybe high school level. Some Kanji I won't understand but can pickup the meaning with context. Writing elementary level.
Native language is English.
I'm lucky that my parents speak fluent Japanese so I learned it the easy way. Respect for you people who learned it on your own.

i can understand 80% about what is chuuba are talking. seems like my 聴解 is fine, but my 会話 skill are worsened

I can understand basic Japanese. I can understand most of what Marine's fast talking(not all), Apex streams of Elu/Chihiro, etc.
But if I go listen to JPs with a lot of slangs/accents, it gets a lot more difficult (ex: Mito, Ange).

Doesn't matter even if Japanese eventually dies. It won't die in my lifetime. Even if it died 20 years from now I would still want to learn it. Even if translation AIs give perfect literal translations in the style that I would personally translate them, it is still more pleasurable to feel the translation happen in my own mind, rather than getting it spoonfed by an app. I want to consume Japanese content. I want to communicate with Japanese people. These are good enough reasons to learn the language. Who cares what the trajectory of the language is? If I get something out of it, it's not worthless for me to learn it. Also nice bait.

Just started doing reps a few weeks ago so i'm def in the lowest rank, but i have like 9 years worth of watching subbed animes on my end so i totally can easily pick up some phrases albeit not completely. The kanji reading part and dialect comprehension will definitely be the hardest part but in 5 years tops it will be something to not be afraid of, It will be my fourth language as well so it's pretty exciting.

Dialogue is easy - descriptive language is my weak spot. I'm floating around in N3, almost reaching N2.
