In regards to Kiki adding grit to her voice, while it's true that the "wonderful world" stuff can cause her some temporary hoarseness if she does it for prolonged periods of time, she mentioned being able to some of the stuff in a way that feels "humble" on her throat, which is exactly how non-damaging technique should feel. Some of it here and there will be hard on her, but I trust she'll get the hang of what feels "humble" and what doesn't long before any actual damage can take place. I've blown my voice out plenty of times doing that stuff, but it takes a LOT more than that to cause any real harm. if you're practicing making those sounds in your free time, do it in short bursts, and if it ever feels less than humble, don't do it like that
