Like any other thread. It's to let amateurs vent and larp giving advice based on bad takes and limited life experience with almost no professional experience. You'll get some bread crumbs every so often but many anons just want you to ask stuff they can work with. Other times you might get responses like you're the manifestation of all the things that hurt them. Sometimes it's just gossip and people trying to play tabloid detective for amateur vtubers.

Don't get me wrong it's not bad or anything and there is genuine value in roleplaying what you want to become. You also get to test yourself on how to handle a lot of the absurd and frustrating responses you can expect from online viewer comments. Sometimes you might get some okay advice too or answers to your questions, but a lot of the time you'll probably ask yourself why you even asked anons. It all depends on the time of day and who is around but also what kind of mood they're in.

Getting closer to becoming a real vtuber. Microphone is somewhat audible, only need to rep myself into being audible. All the technical shit for streaming is sorted out, upload speeds are fine, the games are working, all that's left to do is fluff (waitscreens, etc). Model almost finished, got most of the blendshapes done and tested them in vseeface, it works for the most part, but I have a big problem, my mouth is always opened, even with jaw bone disabled. I think the problem comes from before exporting from unity (mouth is closed in blender).

Also a warning for those coming after. When you do your model on blender, don't have Body and head as separate meshes, I have clipping and it's incredibly ugly, I'm going to fuse that shit.
I hope to be ready to stream by next week, even if I have to be a mouth breather.

I am not sure if this is a good idea or not; I don't really have a good history with self posting and I don't even really lurk here all too often these days but even if I abandon it I have come to realize that until I acknowledge the history I have here it is impossible to do anything else. I can accept the bed that I have made for myself and that my actions have had consequences, but I have also become the sort of person that drags down anyone who speaks to me and that is absolutely terrible. My intention with vtubing was primarily to have a social hobby and now I have found myself as isolated as I was at this point last year. On a personal level too, it hurts to be considered a toxic person that has a desire to hurt others, because above all I do want to be a kind person and form lasting bonds and understand the emotions of others. Even with my vtuber wedding, it genuinely was intended to be ridiculous, and shocking sure, but not hurtful to people and yet it wound up being the catalyst for a whole lot of hurt. It wasn't even intended to be mean to the "dj", they had actually reached out to me around the time of my cosplay bracelet steam and sent a kind apology and we both went on our way. That said, my stupid wedding edits were in bad faith because before that interaction I was upset at how things had gone down before and the blood demon thing but my intention there was to be annoying, not downright cruel but again, that still was the wrong decision in that even if you don't get along with someone and feel hurt by them getting bothered and retaliating doesn't help anyone and just makes you cruel as well. But the wedding itself, it wasn't intended to be bad it was intended to be silly and I am truly sorry to have caused people hurt.

The top content creators are men and their demographic is massive. The top Vtubers, ASMR creators, and cosplayers (the main examples I usually give) are all female. It has more to do with the demographic, and the majority of Vtuber viewers as with all those other categories are men interested in female streamer. Not saying you shouldn't try or that a male can't get big (there's plenty of males out there with good viewership), just that "oh the top creators are male" isn't really the best argument when there's different niches of content creation.

There's plenty of women who aren't out there doing that content but typically that's not what men are interested in when it comes to female content creators, that's part of the reason many don't do as well. Since the demographic of viewers overall is mostly male, I feel like the "boys being boys" streamers like Sodapoppin or "relatable" guys like Asmongold are much more geared towards those male viewers even if that isn't their actual intent.

I don't think Asmongold woke up every day thinking "How can i get more MALE viewers, I need the boys watching me.", he simply created what he enjoyed which happened to appeal to a primarily male audience whereas any girl doing coomer content specifically is gearing it towards men and basically only men with extreme intent on their part.

I agree with most of this in all honesty but I think it also has a lot to do with just how women are perceived on the platform thanks to the actions of a lot of the coomer-baiting women. There's been legitimate complaints from mid-sized streamers who were just trying to create non-sexual content but would constantly have their communities bombarded with runoffs from the viewers that the more sexual streamers bring in. Women in general are just more valued for their looks, at least on a first impression.
