Chuubas being numberfags is fine. It's an indicator of their popularity and success. Naturally a content provider wants statistics to see how well they're doing and if the content they're providing is what people want to see. It's a good thing for them to perform some analysis and determine what's good vs bad content.

It makes no sense for the fans to be doing this however. The fans should watch things they enjoy without caring what others think. By focusing on numbers instead of content fans are actively destroying the purpose of the numbers in the first place because it's less about feedback for content now.
Viewers should be viewers, let the chuubas numberfag. Viewers should only numberfag when it comes to congratulating their vtubers milestones.
