I can't be an objective judge. No matter how it went, my brain will tell me they hated me as a candidate and now hate me as a person and have decided that I'm not only unqualified for the new job, but also for my current job and that I should probably hang myself. I know all of those thoughts are nonsense and don't dwell on them or give them any serious consideration, but it definitely completely blocks my ability to have any sort of objective view on it. I can only do my best in the moment and hope for the best after the fact. It's over now, however it goes, and I'm comfy in my chair with the AC on and some healthy snacks, so it's ok.

I've played it, i believe the first one is soulstorm, and the campaign is i can't fully explain or don't know how. You can pick any of the factions available. Imerial guards (forgot what they're called), space marines, tau, eldar etc. And depending on your faction determines where you start. You have to build bases and recruit soldier or vehicles and invade other territories until you own the sector. Now if she wants to just go straight to the action or something she can play skirmish. I remember loving that more than the campaign.

But it also k8nd of depends on which dow 1 is what i just described. 2 is drastically different because you can only play as blood ravens and it isn't a base builder type game. With retribution being the same as the regular dow2 but with a faction list this time. Tyranids orc eldar etc. And I've never played 3 but i hear it was like 1 but worst and you could only play as orcs, space marines, or the robot guys (their name escapes me at the moment)

I only played the first Dawn of War, I heard the second was a lot different. But the first is just a game like warcraft or starcraft or whatever else. The Dark Crusade and Soulstorm expansions both have campaigns with a world map so you can kind of choose your own battles, and can start as any race. The world map is extremely simple, not near as complicated as even something like the total war games.

Agreed, on easy difficulty. The majority of people find RTS games to be decidedly stressful, so it's best to minimize that at first by making sure the game moves slowly, so there's time to chill and enjoy it and not feel like your hair is on fire.

I wouldn't call it confusing. The concepts are straightforward; you gather resources and you spend them. I would call it stressful though, if you jump in too quickly at too high of a difficulty. Aside from that, I think a lot of people actually really enjoy the non-military aspects of building a town and gathering resources and stuff, it's very comfy
