Since we saw Flare, how is the rest of Bakatare looking?

I already have a lot of my own observations on the sheep. She's got a strong core though often dips deep into filtering content and frequently skips FOTM, but is still largely a mid-range. She's a bit outside the box since she doesn't really do anything with Marine, Pekora, Aqua, Suisei or Subaru so it's tough for her to get really high, highs. If she was willing to integrate with some of the top-end Holos, more WNF, FOTM or some of her popular staples like MC she'd probably be low-high again. Actually reminds me she has some timeslot problems for WNF and goes against high tiers.

Friend is a bit perplexing. She's obviously well integrated, but seems like she actually hates numbers. I don't really know what else to say how she does things.

Yeah, her VODs are still great even if something like age restriction is happening. As mentioned, even during processing she's still getting somewhere around 125-150k/hr of stream time which coincides with most of her VODs of this year. Also if you take a small look:

You can see that her chat's been rowdy as normal. She was still receiving about 300 messages/min during down periods of nothing happening and people leaving for new streams, even going so high as 720 ish messages/min during the finale with her viewers tabbing in.

She's still doing perfectly fine. But I will say that ever since Gorn, there's been a bit of a difference in her picking up steam on her VODs. People may want to say that it was happening before that but I highly disagree. Like the Devour collab, that was a 4 pov stream that was finished in 1hr 40 mins followed by a 40 minute zatsu, again, 4 pov. That makes total sense as to why the views weren't there, since everyone was already split between vods and clips. But streams like her 2nd MC kind of stalling in a way even when doing well is kind of weird. That's why I'm not sure what's going on in the internal end of things. If everything else is the same and the ccv is rising, odds are there should be more traffic, not less.

Here is Watame. Like Flare, she benefits a lot from sandbox games (specially due to taking late hours without lots of competition) so in this current drought of Minecraft her numbers are hurting a little.

She had an amazing mid 2021 stacking all buffs she could: block game, birthday, collabs with EN and, of course, Coco graduation.

A few days ago, Animare's Inaba Haneru held an emergency collab stream with Animare members and told them the bad news: Tickets for their 4th anniversary live in June are not selling well at all.

How bad is it?

Ten days after opening ticket sales, they have only sold 243 tickets, while last year's sales were in the thousands.
This total number is even less than what they sold on the first day last year.
The day before the stream, they only sold 5 tickets.
If the situation doesn't turn around, not only will there not be a live show next year, AniMare would likely not be able to keep renting studio space for 3D streams.
The reason why things got to this point, according the chat and stream comments, was because nobody really knew there was a live show this year. Even if they did, they didn't know what it is about other than it's a "school festival". Marketing sure is doing a bang-up job.

Thankfully, as a result of this stream and the talents' efforts, ticket sales seem to have picked up and they ended the stream with more than 500 tickets sold. It remains to be seen if they are out of danger though.

How important is "floor" as a metric for NijiEN girls anyway?

For Holos and other chuubas who mainly rely on solo streams, obviously having a better floor is important since you have at bare minimum "x" amount of people watching you no matter what the fuck you do, so you'll be able to get decent VODs (adrev) and at least "y" (some % of x) number of people will buy whatever merch and goods that you put out etc.

NijiEN seems to be moving their strategy to push liver groups instead of focusing on individual livers. This gives HUGE medians to pretty much every single chuuba that they have (every stream has the fanbase of at least 2-3 livers watching), at the cost of the occasional dud stream every once in a while (like the above.

Their merch strategy also seems to lean in this direction, as almost every single merch announcement I've seen has been for a group of livers, rather than an individual one (excluding the generic stuff they get of course).

Could it be argued that "floor" no longer matters to them, and that they will continue to have the environment of "every stream is a collab"? It doesn't seem to be hurting their numbers, but are there any other downsides to this strategy?

It isn't an unworkable strategy in theory, streamer/lets play groups have been a thing for ages. But in doing so you need to prove your worth as a voice in the crowd, rather than mushing your fan bases together. You'll need to be able to play a few dynamic and be loud enough to always stand out. If you think back to old lets play channels there would always be the guy nobody really liked. If as a vtuber you become that guy, well merch and supers aren't going to be doing much for you. Also probably doesn't kill leach complaints, if anything it creates a greater risk of you being someone's accessory.

If you have an individual appeal then you can still take advantage of collabs but also have a solid safety net. Hell sometimes a holo has more collabs than solos on some weeks. But they can just play ER all next week if they want.

I think any of them leaving is very unlikely, for a while at least. The bigger issue is a falling out or no longer hitting it off with certain members. Vox could easily just decide to put out 2 or 3 ASMRs a week if he decided that streaming sucks in a few years. Not the case for everyone around him, who may be even more dependent cause of a larger branch and generally saturated market.

The sexcation has been very well executed. They had shorts prepared, multiple streams, tweets/pictures/videos and even a cover planned but there was an issue with the video. This is better interaction than many give on a normal week. I've seen artists who don't draw either like Hyde say "I can't stop thinking about Kiara x Reine since yesterday."

Only real criticism is the numbers have been fairly poor. But neither have streamed at their normal hours, something you could plan for even though it very much turns it into working holiday. That heart bath pic got 40k likes though so not bad for Kiara.

I will clarify that when I said "leave the group" I wasn't referring to leaving Nijisanji, but "breaking from the box". Which has a similar effect with one being more permanent than the other.

That said, the one that hold the audience in the group is the one that holds the cards (in this case, Luxiem), so appeasing them should always take priority (and not just from management, but also the talent). Luckily for them, everyone seem willing to play ball, including the possessive fujos who are well aware of how "freewheeling" westerners are compared to what people in the east are accustomed.
