There's a couple references in this design other than the obvious yoinking of the Berserker armor. The eye slits spell out "Four" in the /morig/ conscript, the armored toes are from Raiden in MGR, and the cloth element on the torso is inspired by nuns.

Good thing /nasa/ has the defenses we have. Fireproof and bullet proof escape pods will be used as bunkers. Our pistols and rifles are railguns that can pierce steel armor. We even have some concussive bombs and missiles for artillery. Our melee weapons have electricity coursing through them that can kill or paralyze with a touch. We have cameras everywhere so it'd be impossible to invade us by surprise. Despite our lack of numbers our defenses are solid. Declaring war on /nasa/ will be a grave mistake. There's a reason why hoomans haven't started war with /nasa/ yet.

Also be thankful /nasa/ serves as a wall between Holocontinent and the Schizo Wastes. Besides, Risuners could probably win a war by sending prostitutes instead.

All tech is currently placed in the... 1850s-1870s, I believe? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
/rose/ or /OBSY/, I'm eventually going to just use /OBSY/ but I'm using both for now, is at the same level as most. As an underground society they are more advanced in excavation and drilling, however. Also, some circles frequent the use of firearms. Far simpler firearms like old black powder (I think) pistols, mind you.

Its floating history. Some places have advanced tech in one way but lacks tech in others. /meat/ for example has pretty good medical science for the time almost developing germ theory, but they're a very ritualistic theocracy with human sacrifice. /nasa/ is deep space age, but our factories got nuked in space. So we're having to rely on 1780s tech to rebuild our infrastructure to be able to build machines needed to build space station parts. Also /nasa/ has only 5000 people of which 3000 are strong. So we lack the numbers to specialize in assembly line factory production. Even our robots got fucked in the crash.

Worse, because Risuners still have a semblance of standards. Perhaps paradise was the wrong word, hell might fit better. A hedonistic hell of endless orgies, willing or not. Pentomos stolen in the night by Pomudachis, Ikesisters putting the assault in sexual assault by killing those they come across, Familliears causing mass kissing plagues, things like that.
But a nation like that would be rather chaotic, if it was all visible. If these things happened in the cover of night, however, it might make sense.

The only reason I could think is the creation of forbidden treats, but Himesama would never indulge in such things.

In the summer, Luknights much sometimes fend off ramshackle schizo boats from the northern sea. There are also a few schizo raiders that rarely sneak in from the Haachama border to the west. Between these and the ongoing cold war with the Matsurisus, the northwest borders are fairly militarized. Since the schizo wasteland is pretty much all ice cap, I don't think the harsh winters are going to bother them much. The muddy wetland, however, might be problematic for them (or most people, really). In fact, the schizos might feel more comfortable raiding during the long winters, especially under the cover of month-long nights. The ground is somewhat more traversable, the coldness is like home to them, and the weather makes outdoor activities like patrols and combat more difficult for the Luknights (relatively speaking).

Additional lore:
I was thinking of having the nation be split mainly into two (kinda like the north and south parts of the US where the south states have a more shared culture), the East and West. (This is based on the interactive map, where the assumption is that /nijien/ has a very wide coast on the east where the migrants could arrive in and /2434/ and other niji threads are on the west).

Well. I have things for people

Yo /nasa/ remind me of that black market trader so i can do the story on it. Wasn't there someone chasing him?

Hey inf reps. If any of you are left tell us are you still gonna use your /risu/ cities or should we say they get abandoned?

Hey roseanon. Are you ok with me writing a story about us going into your cave networks and exploring down there? Ill leave out the big important characters since ill assume you want to do that. Also would any rosebuds want to come back to /risu/? Also dragons when? kek. Btw last night was amazing ;)

Hey luknights? TLDR if you didnt catch it yet
>Plumdrop went to pasuma
>No temple of Risu for him
>Visits a bunch of other cool religious places
>Cockblocks horny risuners with big armor and no pretty gems for us :(

Hey WARanon. You might get your wish soon if the risuner expedition goes wrong. We would burn /uuu/ to the ground.

Hey meatheads. Ill get to you lot soon but i want to do the black market thing for stainless steel tools since our priority is BUILDING A FUCKLOAD OF BOATS right now.

And to NijiEN rep. Welcome once again. I cant wait to see whatever the fuck you all come up with.

God damn roseanon is a gigachad. Anyway if you dont have a lot to go off of in terms of thread you could go off of character lore. Its what I had to do since Risu is pretty slow but you should have much content to work with IMO. Best of luck there Nijibro.

>Hey inf reps. If any of you are left tell us are you still gonna use your /risu/ cities or should we say they get abandoned?
I guess I'm the one left in that position, so...

In my opinion, they were always your cities, we just made them together. Remember, when you came to /vtwbg/ the protectorate was retconned, we might have put the workforce to make the cities and roads, but it's your territory. If you want a middle ground, if we come back /here/ someday –there's interest it seems!–, you manage the city, we manage the ports (and roads). And we have kronies living between you by now, probably a generation of mixed risuner/kronies born too.

I guess eventually all will belong to /risu/, as it would happens in real life. Lets assume we're on a timed contract (for at least a hundred years, it was a big investment) for exploitation of the port and road. It wouldn't make sense /∞/ 'owning' part of /Risu/.

Ok so while i wait for nasa people to get back to me ill be re watching risu stream to get the exact size of the pinisi. And if i cant for some reason ill just assume that /risu/ pinisi is a pinisi sail rig and lambo yacht hull rig 40m long specifically designed not as a luxury yacht like it is IRL but as a unique shaped long range exploratory ship.

I'd ask for a tourist story in our land but our lore is barely put together to make anything interesting. Maybe in the future.

If /∞/ has any leverage in /risu/ I'd say that we could have a deal that while you are getting you army up to modern times (for vtwbg standarts) we are defending your coast for invaders, as you're in quite a good geopolitical place and becoming a trade capital, your territory is a big bounty for some other countries while you are in technological disadvantage. In exchange, we have a priority trade deal and a joint effort to protect the east side of the globe, with the desire to include in it /mep/ and /anya-petra/ in the future. Our nation acting together –not necessarily acting in block, just a deal of mutual protection interest– would discourage attacks from warmonger nations.

Clock people are definitely what got risu so interested in the outside world. The only reason why I didn't do a captain log story of visiting there originally was because so many of you were here already I felt like I didn't need to. But that actually sounds like a logical idea now given the decline of kronies with them going back to their land and risuners just being curious in general. Not to mention the distance is extremely manageable. It will come in time I can say. I believe the original idea was to have /inf/ be based of kronies frostpunk streams where because people work themselves to death that they are a powerhouse of technological achievement. Knowing stress of work + /inf/ horniness risuners would be far more than welcome knowing they love to exchange nuts just as much as your people.

Apologies folks, I was rather caught up in work this morning. I hadn't realized my services were requested, otherwise I would have been here earlier.
I'm happy to help you out, NijiEN rep (if anyone thinks of a more clever nickname let me know, I was considering Nijisis as one). I can see you've expanded on it, which is good. If you need something my advice on anything specific feel free to let me know. I'd say you have the main idea down, so excellent work there. If you're looking for a reason to structure the two main moods of the thread you could always go for a sort of dual society. Perhaps the calmer half of the country is nocturnal, while the more energetic half is diurnal. The failed split could be regarded as a migration that ended in failure, perhaps the retreating group couldn't survive on their own in the outside world and some either perished or returned to /NijiEN/ in shame.
And for the Risuners, I'm more than happy to let you write a piece on exploring the caves. A couple things to note, about that in particular. First, the "caves" will look far different than anything any Risuner has seen beforehand. The vast tunnel system is, likely by a Risuner's eyes, impossibly smooth to the eye and touch. These tunnels are very large, around 15ft/4.5m in diameter. The ground is flat, but there are railroad tracks in the center, so it's safest to walk on the sides of the tunnel usually. Since the Rosebutas would likely be guiding you in, it would be a simple straight shot to the capital. One long, long walk through the empty tunnel straight towards the capital. The capital is basically just a very fancy giant underground castle with lots of flora, at least that's all you'd really see normally. Oh, do keep in mind these tunnels are VERY bare, no decoration just the cold stone and tracks. Not even a constant light source, the best you'll get is a small Rosestone lamp every fifteen minutes or so of walking.
Now normally, you'd visit the capital, meet the Council, introduce yourselves, stick around for a day or so, then be promptly kicked out. Expect constant surveillance from large Boars. However, a Risuner might be able to sneak out if they're clever enough. I'd say about seven Sunwalkers would be willing to go to /risu/.
Also dragon DEEZ NUTS. Soon.

Luknight Expedition to /risu/, Entry 4, May 18th

We have arrived within the Risuner city of Pasuma, and have spent two weeks here surveying. This seems to be the religious capital of their lands, nanora, with several statues, shrines, and even a plaza of worship, where their goddess is said to appear once a year. For the technological deficiencies these Risuners have, their plaza was resplendent in a way that makes me nearly feel shame for our inadequacies in honoring our Himesama, though I understand we are in no place to dictate a consistent reincarnation spot, nanora.

I now understand why the Risuners were once so determined to buy my prized armor opal, as I have seen older female Risuners use gemstones here to heal their fellow citizens. Lady Toffy spent the day with one of these healers, and learned there are many such unique crystals, including one that can enhance harvests, which could be of great use to the kingdom. The Risuners are not interested in trade for any of our current goods, however. Perhaps on a second trip, we may bring some of the opals unsuitable for armor to exchange.

Sir Sucre had an incident in the street. One day surveying the local markets, we heard a commotion, and saw a Risuner in a black cloak chasing after a monstrously large goose with razor-sharp teeth. Fearing for our lives, Sir Sucre unsheathed his sword and quickly beheaded the beast. The Risuners seemed relieved, but also wished the goose could have been taken alive. We later learned this beast is involved in the Risuner's form of capital punishment from our guide, Winardi. Scary to think such things exist, nanora...

Sadly, we have not been permitted to the greatest temple of the Risuners. Our next plan is to regroup with the other expedition knights at Gaputan. We have heard our allies from /towa/ make regular visits there. It should be a great time.

Arrival of the mystery man and strange dogs

It all started at Silvanus. The Risuners were hard at work building pinisi like usual. They were planning a convoy fleet to go meet up at the northern part of the world where they would be able to explore /who/, /uuu/, and /nasa/.
One day a mysterious boat came into view and it wasnt like anything we ever seen. And there was some weird dressed guy on it. We had no idea what to expect so we readied potential defenses and eagerly awaited the man to land.

"Hello Risuners!" I'm going to make this very simple. I have with me steel tools that can greatly aid you in the construction of building your boats. I can see that you are already building boats so you probably would want these.

The strange man opens up his cargo and reveals a variety of tools that resemble /inf/ tools but higher quality. Risuners were overjoyed at this and promptly began to offer nuts.

"Oh im sorry risuners, I am afraid that nuts will not do. I would require gold or a gemstone if you intend to pay me"

"EH!? YOU DONT WANT TO BE PAID IN NUTS!?" "But we always use nuts as money". "And well your gonna have to wait if you really want pretty gems".
Risuners had the man relax in one of the guest lounges in silvanus. They proceeded to the towns treasure vault to trade for whatever gems they had. Since it was in decent supply, they settled on grape agate in a reasonable amount.
Upon returning to the mystery man he observed the grape agate closely. "Yes this will do. Thank you and enjoy your gifts"
As the man was about to leave he noticed something. In a massive hurry he tried to board his boat and escape. Risuners took a little while to notice but then saw what appeared to be running loafes of bread.
He really seemed to be in a massive hurry as they approached. When they got within range we noticed they were some type of metal animal with bread around them? It was kind of hard to describe. But we couldn't even begin to analyze these walking bread loafes with legs as they were chasing down this guys boat.

We really didn't see much after that but one of the scouts did notice that they doggy paddled to his boat. Oh well, we have boats to build ourselves.

risuners i am making your new script based off of arabic and mongolian galik.

i am doing what i do best and bastardizing the core concepts of the scripts i am basing this off of. first i will make it an abugida, both because i cannot come up with enough symbols and because i'm not making an abjad like arabic. why? because i'm incapable of fathoming systems outside of my narrow outsider mindset and do not wish to learn. there will be ~21 letters. i have also, in my infinite wisdom, decided it will be written from left to right. my reasoning being more grounded in reality in that i plan on writing it with my calligraphy pen and do not wish to smear the resulting puddle of ink all over my hands.

How I plan to organize /who/'s alphabet
Not anchored because I need feedback

I cut off the following letters
C: This one will be replaced by either K or S depending on what is needed
Q: To be replaced by K or whatever else comes closer to desired pronunciation (ex: "Kuestion" instead of "Question")
V, X, and Z: Sounds that can be simulated by other letters.

Currently the only redesigned letter is A to look as a triangle.
Still, I am waiting on feedback.

lmfao, you did excatly what i do with conlangs, cut off the dumb letters. i hate C and Q and X so goddamn much

i assume you're going off of the greek alphabet? if so, i can suggest you try and write pseudo-greek based on what looks right, or maybe take the phoenician alphabet and artifically 'evolve' it through handwriting over time, trying to change the letters a little with each generation. also take into account, is the language going to be written quickly? does it have a lot of letters? if so, make it curvy and easy to be written cursively. if you use something like carving in stone, add serifs and straight lines, like i did with the /meat/ runes

I understand that the latin alphabet is followed up on from the Greek one, so that's probably why, I think I'll replace H with X for both sounds because that's what Cyrillic does. The A looks like that because i cut off the little foot things it has, but its resemblance to Delta isn't lost on me, I'll keep trying out things.

People write with pencils and pens, but the newspaper and book industries mean that printing presses have an effect on how the letters are written, so I'm also trying to achieve a slightly mechanical touch to it.

printing presses usually had ornate fixings due to the fact that they were printed and didn't have to be consistently replicated by hand. things like serifs, difference in line density, etc. because of how printing works i don't think there's any reason to make it look mechanical by (only) necessity, nor do i see this as an influence on how the masses write but, you can do whatever you want

Republic Owl/ Respublika Filin / Republique Hibou / 共和国 ワシミミズク

Postal service:
The Republic's citizens are avid readers. But with such a large amount of literate population, and the absence of long-range, mass communication methods that can connect friends and relatives, separated by the rapid advance of industry and progress, an efficient and standardised post system is needed.
Luckily, the infrastructure in the Republic enables mail and parcels to reach from the Easternmost mining towns to the ports in the West in mere days. The Postal Department is also well funded, both by the government and the massive amount of citizens who enlist their service. Aside from selling normal stamps, the Department also prints special editions that are prized within the not insignificant collector circles within the nation.

Pigeon post: Every city & town has at least one post office that houses messenger pigeons. For rural areas, post offices in the junctions between villages would have some capacity to house and send pigeons.
Their value as battlefield messengers is of course not lost to the military. The carrier pigeons in military service are all bred and trained with the help of professionals from the Postal Department. Whether military or civilian, they all wear a small whistle to ward off birds of prey.
There are also specially bred breeds. The most famous of all is the Northern Messenger. They boast a fast training and memorisation process than regular doves. They have longer necks, wider bodies and longer feathers. There is also the noticeable outgrowth of the eye cere, and their duller color (mostly brown & light grey, almost no white). Their more developed muscle and wings allow them better endurance and slightly faster flight, but these birds are also bigger and need more movement space. As such, they are mostly only suitable to be used in conjunction with special carts for the military or from fixed locations.
Their exploits are often recorded in commercial books, the press and official histories. Though their significance is, of course, lower than the national avian of the Republic, they nevertheless have their own attire during parades and celebrations. Military pigeons usually wear a small gorget, helmet and harness during such occasions. And civilian pigeons are dressed in colorful feathers and masks.

Balloon mail: Both coal and chuubanite driven air balloons are available for the postmen of the Department. Mostly running fixed routes, they still often go where is needed too. Balloons are used for delivering urgent medium weight parcels like medicine to remote villages(mail posts in rural areas have dedicated landing pads).
Though limited by the weather, fuel and slightly slower than pigeons on average, they are still extremely flexible.
The artillery observation corps of the army has its roots in the balloon pilots of the Postal department. The corps continually draws some of its personnel from skilled balloon postmen.

Horse & carriage: The most common method and delivers the largest volume, despite the Republic's large pigeon fleet, more than half of the mail and parcels are transported by horses. Horse carriages are used to centrally distribute to various smaller posts both within cities and between villages. Stamps are also tiered, least expensive and most common stamps are transported by horse instead of pigeon or other alternative methods.
Green: Horse Blue: Pigeon Yellow: International(i.e. Ship) / Add on: Orange for mail that needs ballon transport; Red for urgent

Intra-city mailing: While there are some pigeon services within larger cities, many postboys run mail around the cities on push velocipedes. The many narrow city streets, while excellent for defending, are however not very suitable for horses or carriages. Once you leave the wide main avenues near the centre, such vehicles are needed to deliver mail in residential areas in a timely fashion. There are also pedal-driven ones but they are slowly catching on.

Messenger ravens: A lot less common and limited in number, but they are more flexible than pigeons. These smart critters can memorise more locations, and their intended destination is communicated through coloured cards by their handler. Limited to daytime and range, they are only carried by a select few offices or in the military, higher-level or command units.

> ...ward off birds of prey. Due to having anti-pigeon falcons of their own, the Army is also wary of any potential adversary who processes the same tactic as well. As a result, military pigeons have an Ace up their sleeves -- Chuubanite dazzlers, which engage whenever a target approaches at high speed, temporarily blinding it and making it either retreat or miss its dive.

> Military pigeons usually wear a small ceremonial helmet aside from the usual engraved gorget and harness(used to attach the dazzler) during such occasions.

I'll try to brainstorm a way for dazzlers to be plausible then.
Would they store a lot of light? I guess the solution here is find a way for chuubanite to store light instead of heat, actually, maybe it'd work better as a bomb that produces a lot of light instead, like a flashbang, if it's triggered then the chuubanite falls on a particular substance that generates a bright light. I'll keep looking at information for flashbangs and stuffs like that.
The other issue is find a way for the pigeon to actually use the dazzler when panicked.

Maybe someone could explain to them that with gold, you can give the gold to other countries to get more nuts and gems? Or make paying for stainless steel tools a bit more easy, that sanallite would have taken the gold for those.
If that doesn't interest them, we could also include rapeseed oil in the agreement. It's pretty amazing for frying donuts, I think Risu liked those.

My idea is that it's triggered by a glyph. When a target approaches the dazzler too quickly, it engages and releases a portion of the energy it hosts into a burst of light energy(or maybe a series of rapid flashes, to conserve energy). Because the flash is so violent, the dazzler only lasts less than say half a dozen times at most. It shouldn't be that complicated to be engraved in the back of the chuubnaite, with the chuubanite then attached to a metal plate which modifies the kind of energy the chuubanite releases. Because it's relatively expensive(needing careful engraving and all), it's only really used in conflict zones where one anticipates the pigeon has a high chance of being intercepted.
Actual Flashbangs are still pyrotechnic so I doubt it's that safe near a quite flammable pigeon carrying important messages.

The only reason Plumdrop was able to even see it for himself in the luknights story is because not only did they have a lot to offer but I also assumed it was extremely necessary to use it i wanted to say "no you dont see that shit" but I like to think there are exceptions/emergencies and Pasuma is the one place that would happen. Same, but I guess it's fine as long as it isn't run-on sentences or paragraph-long sentences. A lot of these things ultimately boil down to personal preference, after all. I guess it might even work if you prefer a more John Woo style of action.

Well, I wrote a bunch of fake code because it seemed fun anyways.
using Chuubanite.Collections;
using Chuubanite.Collections.Generic;
using World.Engine;

public class FlashRockProcedure : MonoBehaviour
{
public rockBody pigeonBody;
public float rockRadar;

bool RockLoaded;

//start means after initialization
void start
{
RockLoaded =true;
}

void Update()
{
enemy.closeby = Input.rockRadar*10meters*2seconds;
}

public void FlashRock()
{
if (RockLoaded == true)
{
rockObject decimateEnergy = instantiate(loadedEnergy, transform.position, transform.rotation);
}
}

if (enemy.closeBy)
{
FlashRock();
}
}

The detection can be based on the quantum physics theory a few threads ago. The glyph bases it's detection on the magical field, when an object enters the range the glyph sets, it determines whether or not it's fast enough relative to itself for the flash to trigger. It also don't have to be like a bubble around the dazzler, but kind of like an IR proximity sensor, being directional and thus mounted in the back or multiple directions. I have very little idea/understanding on quantum mechanics so might need others to chime in.

KFP Flamethrowers are not chuubanite powered: they typically run on a compound of Phoenix wax, saltpeter and sugar dissolved into an ethanol base, launched at high velocity using a multi chambered liquid pressurization system
although finding a use for Chuubanite should be put on my to do list...

yeah anyway, dazzlers go on the "*for later" list since I don't feel like dealing with magic shit

Oh, I guess I kinda assumed they were involved because the flames were weird pretty colors. Good to know! Maybe there could be trace amounts of natural chuubanite in the phoenix grease, gives it a bit of extra oomph.

It wouldn't if I'd applied that grass particle system lol.

>John Woo
I think I saw one of his movies in a village in Thailand fifteen years ago. Looks like I have another master of kino to do research on. At times I was conflicted between the "rule" to stick to short sentences, and the one to vary the length of your sentences. All those are more tips and guidelines than rules is what it gets down to, I guess.

It's ultimately a form of art, so there aren't really concrete rules, and you can probably make an argument on violating most of them for your own aesthetic reasons. For John Woo, his action movies are pretty influential, although in hindsight his way of depicting action scenes (multiple angles, quite a bit of slo-mo by pre-Matrix standards, somewhat slow and methodical pace) was pretty unique at the time. Not really my thing, but it's a good reference.

if you ever see any flybeats, that ain't chuubanite

Actually, that has some interesting implications for the land mass of KFP itself, since it implies that the Phoenixes are either able to naturally synthesize chuubanite, or that they have metabolized it from something else. Which means we're either expanding our Phoenix farms to become the largest chuubanite exporter on the continent, or all of our wildlife is Chuubanite infused in some way, and the entire country is some massive brothers grim esque magical forest (my preferred option).

I think it's more likely that their biology allows them to concentrate chuubanite in their body from whatever they eat, kind of like heavy metal, but somewhat more beneficial

>> No.24564540

The approach /uuu/ (I think, in those saplingizing spores? Correct me if that's wrong), /risu/, and /morig/ have used is that some small amounts of chuubanite can be found all over the land, and some specific things can accumulate more of it (like the nuts of deadbeat bones). So /kfp/ chuubanite may have a particular affinity for Phoenix grease among other things.
