I don't think them having horror elements jokingly really lends itself to horror. Since you do need more than a collection to gags to make a fic and, for lack of a better word, you need a "real" feeling of fear to evoke the good kind of horror since the medium of writing does not lend itself as well to cheap scares as it does to deeper fears.
