At this point, it just feels like someone trying to inconvenience as many vtubers as possible, although they were so indiscriminate with their targets that they ousted themselves to the wider scene within six or so hours, so at this point, the only people really at risk are vtubers who live under a rock (somehow alongside their audience). I'm leaning towards the former because Anya Melfissa handled a bot raid without getting terminated, although this is something that'll likely reveal itself as people use it as a precautionary measure. Anecdotally, the people banned were using formats that usually have the chat on screen.

Now is probably a worse than ever for a time to move to Twitch. Staff have been saying that Amazon has been been putting increasing pressure on Twitch to monetize and cut costs, in order to recoup the costs of purchasing it. So we're probably going to see worse customer support, worse payment for streamers, and more ads in the near future.

Normally I'd say that almost anything is worse than youtube's platform bans, no matter how bad things are on Twitch. But Twitch's moderation is also notoriously arbitrary in general, and(numerous vtubers have claimed to have been suspended due to silly things like underboob clevage or high-leg leotards, though I don't know how much of that is true.

In any case, corpos especially will never push hard for Twitch except as a backup to Youtube, simply due to the fact Twitch demands nearly double the cut of the pie. (Indies don't care because they need the increased exposure/promotion they get on Twtich, but corpos have cross-promotion and their own advertising budgets, so don't benefit as greatly given the costs).
