I mean I do plan on doing something I guess. The first time I thought about vtubing was around 2014-2015 but a lot of things happened and I had to deal with those other things. When it got popular I was like okay maybe but I'm still struggling to get my life back together. With the coof lockdowns I was focused on finally finishing my degree.

I want to give it a shot this year as I go into grad school but my budget is zero and I have a lot of things to fix and repair about my own general health so I'm doing daily logopedy exercises and making a few plans. I'll probably start with some short educational / tutorial videos before streaming. Some say don't mix games and other content but I see others do it so I don't know if having multiple channels like big content creators is a good idea. I'll figure it out along the way I suppose.

It reminds me of /xiv/ threads where a dedicated anon uses mods and tools. They copy/steal character appearances, put them in diaper mods and pose weird pictures to post in the thread. They did it for a lot of nice and popular anons that were sociable on the Crystal datacenter. They didn't ask for permission they just did it as a form of harassment.

Short term "growth" of less than 10 viewers isn't growth, it's just natural fluctuation. Even if you're doing all the right things, sometimes the numbers won't reflect that. In the same way that you shouldn't have your viewer count on during stream (you'll second guess yourself with every move if there's ever a drop off). When you're in the sub 30 view stage it means people just simply do not know you even exist - meaning the sample size is meaningless. Try to buddy up with bigger people for a lucky raid for a bit of that spotlight even for a day.

Fuck I forgot to reply to the second part, I use a shitty old broken Wacom Intuos Comic from 2015 that I spilled water on several times. The pen doesn't work right in several areas but it still serves me well. I absolutely reccommend investing in a drawing tablet if you're serious about digital art.

I've made all of my assets apart from my stinger and the little Streamelements tip jar I use for funsies, and when I can get affiliate all of my emotes are also made by myself! I have around 5 I still need to create but I've made 5 so far (Popplio wiggly, Heart, Pog face, Wave, and Laugh). I'm the ceo of a soon to debut smaller vtuber corporation. I've decided to branch into the niche of education short videos and have hired a bunch of ex-teachers who are no longer able to work in their field.
I want to focus on reaching out to kids and helping them learn via vtubers in a fun and enjoyable way while trying to steer the industry back away from vtubing.

I think I chose the right people for the job. They're all smart and fun people with years of experience with children. The only issue is they're all shotacons but since it's virtual I don't think it'll be an issue for them again.

The overlays, the logos, the lore, picking free-royalty music, the promotion, the schedules.
And I haven't talked about choosing games, getting into character, making more graphic media related.
I just want to throw myself into twitch and stream some games, forget about all there is to do and just play to an empty room. On the other hand I don't want to make potential viewers think my content is excrutiatingly low-effort and low-budget.

For most art assets (overlay, badges, schedule templates, etc) premade is fine. That cuts out a ton of work already, probably hours worth. Lore won't be important after the first stream assuming you do a debut, just think of a theme, a short background and stick to it since no one really cares how "in character" you are moreso how entertainig your streaming persona is. A lot of that stuff listed aside from promotion honestly not needed at the start, it's better to spend as much time as you can (within reason of course) just picking your games and deciding the content you want to make.

"About" is very useful, gives an idea of what you tend to stream and when.
"Socials" to give links to everything else you're on (these should also be in your 'about me' bar on Twitch)
"Rules" is super important - whilst you are a despot in your stream, and can do whatever you want, having clear-cut rules from the start means people won't be upset when you randomly ban someone else. It also helps to avoid things like Miru's inflation 'art'.
"Credits" is not super important from a viewer perspective, but sometimes other streamers will 'call you out' for not providing proper credits to your artists.

Anyone who focuses on specific content drops numbers when they move away from it - if you're a LoL streamer, nobody cares when you do a Minecraft stream.
If you can get a wider focus (MOBA, not just LoL), then you can retain audience over a wider grouping.

Being a variety streamer means you won't retain as many viewers - I have had people come to streams where I'm playing [whatever[, and then they pop into my other ones, and literally say "Oh, you're not playing [favourite game]? I'll come back later"... But it does mean that people will be more interested in your general content - I have several viewers that turn up regardless of what I'm actually playing.

ASMR is the worst for outside retention though. It's vaguely similar, content-wise, to some Just Chatting or Art streams, but you can't tell without hopping straight in. It provides a very strong GFE in that the streamer is actively paying close attention to you, brushing your hair, or whispering in your ear.
And then... You can't really raid outside of ASMR. It loses you long-term viewers.

I watch a lot of ASMR - it's nice background and drowns out the brainworms. I'm in a few discords for chuubas that do quite a bit of it.. And the shit flinging that goes on when they raid outside?
"I fell asleep to you and you betrayed me" is common.

Trying to use a USB video capture device to play a console game for the stream but whenever I have my Vtuber software running with the webcam tracking turned on it says the device is not available and being used by another program in the streaming software I'm using and whenever I have it working in the streaming software then start my Vtuber software and enable webcam tracking it lags super hard.
