You made your armature from scratch? And what do you mean resize a bone out of edit mode? You're only supposed to have one armature object that is made of bones.
You can check if an object has scale on the menu on the side(press N if it's hidden)
Sorry, I can't diagnose without seeing a picture, I'm not good enough. I don't know what the parent-child relationships look like in your armature, but the rotating issue sounds like it's a problem with the armature or when you selected the bones to make the VRM in Unity. You did that, right?

So, I checked this and it's all good. I think I'm using the same export plugin as you (UniVRM?). Posing works just fine in unity when I go to configure the model as well. However, what I noticed is that when export to VRM and then add the model back in to Unity, it has an extra component beneath it labeled "secondary". Is this normal, and if not, what's up with that?

i think you should think a bit more deeply about what you want to use to represent you and what the viewer might think when looking at your avatar. i get that your theme is very machine based, but is a factory crane arm really that interesting? think about all the valve portal games and its spin offs, the robots are all emotive, but they require a incredible of movement and subtle things to convey emotion and mood. if you really want to go with the robotic theme i think going in that direction is a bit better. if you want to go with the arm gimmick, you can maybe try something fully 3D and have a bunch of crazy toggles to allow it to emote for you

The funny part about this whole design? Before I started streaming with an avatar, when I was testing the waters out-I was fretting over as to what I wanted to represent me. I had a bunch of ideas clashing with one another and I decided to calm down and go with something simple.

I see what a lot of you are looking for that my model lacks (and what I was least worried about), but as of right now, it's not the "final" revision. I'll go back to the drawing board and see what I can pull out of my brainfolds.

The funniest thing about this is that I was fretting over technical issues, stream quality, dead air, etc.

Okay so last thread people had an autistic smack fight, and I still don't know what it was.
Thought it was worth mentioning I've put out videos, on one channel in particular, only ever as experiments.
Key point: The only one that broke 20K views was specifically related and targeted at a content creator and their content.

I cheated a little because the video has 200% average viewer duration
(average view length is twice as long as the actual video from repeat viewing, might only count the second repetition because of how precise 200% is)
- and since YouTube algorithm still prefers watch time and view retention more than anything I imagine that helps the video perform.

I think the point about doing content that focuses on existing content creators still stands and I just wanna add to that.

I mean this as a genuine question, but do any of you babis have any aspiration to grow outside of /asp/ or is it actually "just a hobby" and not just extreme cope? I keep thinking "Oh man, maybe they're growing" but every time the viewerlist is just the other 6 babis in the thread and only the female aspies have any actual growth.

I mean, i have fun when actually streaming, the thoughts only kick in post stream or when watching VODs, a couple /asp/ies and a /here/viewer drop by regularly but i'm not sure if they do it because they genuinely enjoy my content or out of pity

I don't understand why so many people use the excuse of 'my assets aren't finished!' as something that prevents them from streaming. It's as easy as grabbing a random commercially free-to-use PNG or drawing something of your own and then sticking it over a video game. You don't need incredible assets to just start off. If you REALLY feel like you want pretty overlays just smash them out. I made all of my assets in the span of around half a week and they have served me very well. Even then you don't even need half of the shit people say that you need to start streaming. Just do your reps and then worry about shit later, what really matters is putting yourself out there, because even some people with the most beautiful assets and models have shitty entertainment skills.

Now that I have all the gear and tested a stream to make sure it all works, I ended up vomiting the babi pill.
Originally just wanted a female model because as a guy that's what I think looks best on screen. But now after checking babi streams and getting an initial wave of negative thoughts when I hear the man voice coming from the girly model, I asked myself if I really want to set up additional hurdles for someone to stick around and potentially like my content.

A random PNG really won't help you "put yourself out there", but people should really be doing their stremaing reps regardless. It doesn't take a PNG to do that though. If someone is genuinely looking to start though, the only thing needed that they can't buy for extremely cheap or make in minutes is the character itself. There's tons of great quality assets out there available that very few people actually make use of because they think everything needs to be 100% customized.

Screens (AFK, Starting, Ending etc), Overlays, alerts, panel art, etc is all shit you do not need and if you're really autistic about can just buy pre-made ones and customize the colors in minutes.

The only asset you really need is your model, and this is functional as a PNG.
You can even go for a static PNG that just lights up, doesn't even need the moving mouth.
It'll look bad, but the most important advice you can get is "start streaming".

You can customize a channel with maybe 20 to 30 bucks and either draw your own (if you're skilled enough) or commission a bust PNG to stream with, most artists have no problem offering an open-mouth alt if you tell them it's for streaming. Fully personalized asset are for people who have the money to burn or are artistic enough to make something decent quickly. Just because i was bored, i made a quick showcase, my phone camera is probably comprable to what a webcam gets you. This tracking does work in almost complete darkness (just light from the monitor), although i do keep a little passive lightsource on regardless. I'd prove that too, but that would mean i have to show my face. Also the mouthtracking being that bad is due to the models simplicity (it only has 3 shapes). And it has no individual eyes for tracking either, so depending on your model's complexity it might turn out different.
