Uproar is such a missed opportunity, it's depressing. As much as the stars are likeable and cute, they are so goddamn safe and seiso that unless they're doing collabs and riffing off other people, their streams are easily outdone by literally any other streamer in terms of entertainment. Introducing what seemed to be a more edgy 'bad boy' rival group was a good idea. Cover can keep their seiso, squeaky clean idols and also draw in an audience that wants more yabe content, and also play up the competitiveness between the groups, leading to increasing quality/creativity in content. Uproar could be like the Trigger to Idolish 7, the ARise to Love Live. Fujos can ship all the hatesex, and fans can go crazy picking a side to throw support at. Most importantly, Uproar could fulfill a niche that SeisoStars couldn't. And yet, management is stricter on Uproar than Stars (Gamma got scolded for blowing his nose with echo on stream?? Seriously??) and Fuma basically said Astel GOATed and accepted that he won't ever reach seaweed's level. Excuse me? Why is a group called Uproar so quiet???!!! How is this different from just introducing a 4th gen? Why is Shinove the manager of both groups? Why dont they have their own manager and work towards a different direction than the stars instead of the exact same direction but somehow even less interesting? I don't think anyone understands Uproar, especially Cover.

I think the initial idea was to release a new unit with a different name in a second chance attempt to grab JP audience since no one can argue that they didn't royally fuck up how they handled Holostars as a whole.

But, besides the different name they have changed nothing. Doing a new unit name was probably enough to initially trick tourists, but once they realized it was the same stuff they jumped ship.

The only noticeable difference is Uproar is a bit better at overall stream presentation where a lot of the current Holostars are pretty behind on that.

The only one who kind of stands out is Gamma since he can at least produce different content besides another variety game streamer.

Been a while /stars/ has a managers meeting, and it's filled with shitty timeloops and reddit tourists. Some criticisms are valid, albeit a bit hasty.

Contrary to popular believe /here/, this is probably the most "idol" thing they did after the concert. They did it right this time.
Rikka said it best, if Stars want more people they're better in a new unit with a proper name for easier categorization and marketing. I think the original schizo post got it by mentioning new idol units under the same umbrella in Love Live and Idolish7 franchise (IM@S too actually).
Worked both as a reset button and a way to try different concepts without bothering the existing talents and fanbases. They can have their own concerts and events too while still joining the big Holostars Group event (like Oshi Talk at the end of the month, though their exclusion from Stars anniv. is probably because they don't have 3D yet). That's probably the reason why they're not officially the 4th gen.
That being said it's not that deep. It's just as if MaFia or SunTemPo were proper units with marketing instead of mostly going their own way and doing work biannually.

This is a legit concern if you're honest about it, but I feel is actually just numberfags trying to say "Why are they not exploding in popularity?" without actually watching streams.
They already did a good job differentiating Uproar talents from their senpais. Similar streams like zatsus or FPSs are inevitable because they're "meta", but their core ways of streaming and characters (even the colour of their voices when singing) don't overlap. They even have collabs 2-3 times a week doing different games (already better than every units in Stars bar Yurustars).
Now there's no way they're going to explode in popularity with Stars fanbase not being big in the first place. It's a slow climb and they need to up their game if they want to achieve their debut dreams. Most importantly to start networking while maintaining current output (and roping their senpais into it too).
I say wait and see for this. Fuma doing game collabs by roping his senpais and Rio collabing with Minase from NeoPorte is a great step in the right direction. Robesan might actually be right with Rio the most similar to him.
