I know I am emotionally stunted, and I have no sense on how to react more "naturally" to experiences. What is your issue then?
I think we might be rather similar. While I can recognize social stupidity, I myself have some of it. In my case I'm shy, and kind of mean. I there a word for this in English? The opposite of a nice guy. And asshole I guess. Not a huge one, but I'm certainly not accesible, nor nice, nor charismatic. On top of this I have an almost pathological impediment towards being fake, so I can't even act the part. But I think this worked in my benefit : the only people that approach me/tolerate me are people who actually appreciate the kind of personality I display, or perhaps the way I think, most probably a mix of those. As a consequence I have a handful of friends that I've kept for more than a decade, and every once in a while I'll get in contact with some woman on a dating app who doesn't think I'm a weird asshole, and with some of those I'll get along well. So my advice is be yourself, and as long as you are somewhat intelligent or interesting you'll do good. And if you don't find yourself interesting then get your shit together.

The thing is that while I do openly share a lot of my tastes and who I am with her, I don't make idols the main focus of any conversation. Usually it comes up tangentially when I talk about something I'm passionate about like singing, a certain anime series, or storytelling/zatsudan. And most of the times that topic actually comes from me listening to the things she's passionate about and linking it to that conversation as a similarity.

We're not actually going out as we're just friends in title, but she's asked me to accompany her this Saturday to hang out as usual.
