Holostar right now is comparable to smaller corp both in the number of talents and views. Although they share the same corp as the bigger hololive branch, the fanbases of hololive are not into male vtuber that much, so even with lots of collab, it doesn't really give them much

Nijisanji has a bigger existing audiences who are interested in male vtuber thus their male vtuber are having easier time to succeed while most hololive audiences are only interested in female vtuber. This is why ID,EN,JP collab can work, but even that has it's limit

Nijisanji have this because their male vtuber are actually growing their audiences. For holocorp to have this, they have to grow an audiences for their male vtuber and to do that, they can't really rely on anyone but their own male vtuber

Holostars never evolved beyond that initial vtubing period where it was a side hustle to the main career. For the hololives it replaced any "career" (I don't think most of them even had jobs) they had before.

Holostars don't benefit from the Hololive brand, hardcore fans hate them and the average fans don't care for them. When someone mentions Hololive Production you think of the girls and that's that. It doesn't help that most of the girls act as if acknowledging them is some sort of taboo, which then translates to the fans, who genuinely don't know Holostars exist, or also end up thinking mentioning them is taboo, or even that some collab ban is still in place. But the boys are still Holos, so then you have antis or other company loyalists who won't watch them either.

Luxiem is a different beast because they tapped into a market that no one else had. A lot of their fans are completely new to vtubers, not to mention they're an oasis for Asian fujos with how they encourage open shipping and nsfw content.

luxiem debut into a company that has the fanbase and cultural infrastructure to support them. holostars had the opposite where they debuted into a company culture that was openly hostile to adding men to their space, and no matter how much the company tries to support them they don't have that infrastructure to help them succeed.
that being said, many of the boys seems happy and seem to have succeeded in their own way with their own dedicated fanbase, so they don't necessarily need big numbers to be successful and happy.

The second point is what these people look over so much. Sure they aren't pulling Holo/Lux numbers, but it's still good enough AND they truly have a deep bond with each other. Not to mention everything the girls have (concert, 3D, anime, big name collabs) also goes to the boys as well (1st Act, StarKore and names like Argonavis, KingPri, hell even a 1 on 1 talk with Robe's favorite character's VA)
