Please RIP and Reaper/Rapper were the biggest character songs. Establishing who Mori Calliope is to a new audience. RIP went viral because it was catchy and a novelty, it's still a good song. Reaper/Rapper is pretty easily forgotten but it does show her resourceful Mori is.

Cursed Night was a song for herself. Venting a lot of emotions while in character. Live Again was like that too but struck gold in being a song everyone loves and wants to always hear. Most people consider that one their favorite.

Dead Beats and Off With Their Heads are tastes of the types of lyric writing she can do. Finding ways to be aggressive and give disses without always using an angry tone of voice. Accusing others of being unoriginal while she prides herself on doing different things, even if they don't always work. Or responding to accusations other made towards her that she didn't earn anything, and damn did it sound good to hear her go against that. In a song which was also meant to motivate others.

One thing I can say for sure is that April is going to awesome if she's dropping an album where she can put all her ideas and skills to use. Instead of only being able to focus on one song/concept at a time.

It's made me appreciate her music more, and it's helped me appreciate rap/hip hop in general more. It's like I've got a better idea of what to listen for. I don't share his apparent obsession with trap music though. I would like to hear Mori rapping over harder, darker, more overtly aggressive music — but more along the lines of UK grime than trap.

I don't listen to nearly enough rap to have an educated opinion on who's the best or who's more talented or who's more skilled. I do like Mori though.
