This is also how you tame elephants. You capture them when they are young. Then train them. One thing used to train elephants is to tie their legs when they are young. So when they're older and placed in tents they don't fight.

I wonder how to make scuba gear with chuubanite now. Breathable water is retarded because you're still inhaling salt and minerals. I was thinking about using chuubanite in a mask to extract breathable air from the water. Could also be useful as an air-filtration system as well.

>> No.23444176

did scuba gear of some kind exist around the timeline IRL? or is that a more modern invention?

>> No.23444481

I'm going to give some scientific fun facts, but feel free to ignore them for the sake of creative license.
Cold blooded animals, like fish, reptilians or chumbuds need a lot less oxygen than thermo-regulated animals like mammals. To be able to provide the oxygen necessary for a human to remain alive, hundreds of liters of water would need to be processed every minute.
The first scuba diving gears were made in the 1800s and consisted of surface equipment connected to the diver through tubes that supplied fresh air and ejected exhaled air into the atmosphere. These could feasibly exist and have been mentioned in some /morig/ lore.
More modern gear using compressed air tanks worn by the diver were invented in the 1900s.

>> No.23444607

>>23444176
Its a more modern invention. I think 20th century tech. However with the right kind of chuubanite breathing masks can be a thing. Though they'll only let you breathe in shallow water without pressure. Deeper diving needs pressurized gas as water pressure will prevent you from inhaling gas.

>> No.23444942

So instead of filtering breatheable air chuubanite would have to store breatheable air instead. Then comes the question of how do you extract breatheable air from chuubanite reserves? And if such a process would be worth it over a traditional scuba set?

Also if the earliest gear is only possible with precision factory machines then chuubanite scuba is not happening this century.

Luknight here from a few threads ago, I've been waging mostly but I always have new ideas for the thread. Wanted to put this one down since I thought it would make for a great faction to fight against without actually needing to step on some toes.
When thread gets more lively, I wanna know the threads thoughts on this. I've been thinking about chuubanite refinement and wondered if and how it would be possible for a schizo to refine chuubanite if they are able to at all. As in, a chuubanite refined or reworked from its chuuba alignment towards a schizo's alignment
Maybe it can only be refined if normal chuubanite goes critical as is the case of a graduation or maybe it could only be refined during Yabs by a schizo who can make it critical through the refinement. Yabs usually dont last forever in the generals no matter how large and lasting they are (unless its a graduation) so any chuubanite refined by a schizo is going to burn out relatively fast with each u with no almpifying force on it or become so volatile that not even a schizo can handle it without death, sever debilitation, or a similar disability. Chuubanite such as this would need a consistent flow of power in order to keep it viable, sacrifice of the self and sacrifice of the many. Schizonium was the first thing to come to mind when I thought about the name, perhaps another radioactive metal naming convention would suffice?
>Sacrifical Schizonium:
Sacrificial Schizonium Refinement occurs when a schizo makes a certain sacrifical act for the sake of their oshi. The unholy act of the akasupa is the most common, a volatile and bloody act where a donation is written in blood to their oshi, discerned by scribes to be the blood ritual of the Red Akasupa. This ritual requires the fresh blood of a victim. The type of blood seems to vary from victim to victim however due to the frantic and unhinged confusion of a schizo, none but the mad have been able to tell what this might be. Once a large amount of warm blood is gathered by the schizo they will often write out lengthy messages in the blood before staining the message with their own blood as a, "proper donation" these donos are said to reach the eyes of the goddesses and should they see it fit, they will speak out the name of the schizo and speak in the divine tongue, empowering the Schizonium core with pure divine energy (or so it is said). The Red Akasupa is not the only sacrificial refining method, just the most common. Schizos often empower their chuubanite from other acts such as the consumption of large amounts of pyschedelics or intense self harm, while the Red Akasupa uses blood in order to filter the divine energy of the chuuba, these methods use the individual schizo themselves as the filter. These types of schizonium refinements will eventually lead to the schizos death however it is said to invigorate and strengthen them as well as their schizonium.

>> No.23474892

>>23472805
>Hecatomb Schizonium:
Hecatomb Schizonium Refinement is totally reliant on the staying power of a yab and is dependant on creating more schizos while empowering the Schizonium at the same time. These Schizo vagabonds often form large travelling bands of crazed schizonites that attack small villages and abduct their populations, dragging them back to their main forces and forcefully converting them into schizophrenics through the unholy revelations they spout. A large amount of individuals are unreceptive to this and end up being killed however those that are then add to the amount of power the Schizonium core can draw from and increases the energy it releases in turn. Just like Sacrificial Schizonium, this is not likely to end well for any involved as eventually the the schizos of the hecatomb will be unable to support the energy demanded by the core, leading to their deaths as they topple over from exhaustion and die in a large group suicide that can range from five or six to several dozens of individuals.
While both of these refinement processes result in the death of the schizo, in the process many people still lose their lives and the destructive energy of the schizo is sometimes so powerful that it invites the might wrath of the Mods themselves.
Schizo artifacts are rare and often found in the long forgotten ruins of graduated oshis, refined as a last ditch effort to save their chuubanite and culture in whatever volatile form it may take. These items, while immensely dangerous, are also highly valued for their power and adventorous tomb raiders can make quite the profit from brining certain artifacts back to sell to interested parties.

Welcome back!
>schizo use of chuubanite
I think that as far as what we know, users of chuubanite don't have to have any faith in the vtuber it's associated with, as long as they know how to use/activate it. Hence, for example, rosestones can be used by anyone even if they've never heard of Rosemi again, so it stands to reason that schizos would be able to use them as well. That said...
>Sacrifical Schizonium
It sounds pretty cool then again I'm /meat/head! Though I'm not sure if this ritual correspond to any actual schizo behaviour, since most of them aren't known to send akasupa as schizos (I think?).
I think it might be interesting if the schizo's rituals can transmute chuubanite into their schizo/anti equivalent (maybe that can be Schizonium?). Perhaps schizonium has the ability (either passive or active) to screw with people's mind, especially with matching schizonium? They might have other effects that normal chuubanite don't grant, but at the same time also less stable and prone to explosion. Feels like it would make writing about schizos and what they do against the other countries interesting.

Why thank you my dear /meat/head, I chose schizos as my chosen enemy faction mostly because /meat/ is really friendly when you get to know them despite seeming like a villanous faction I think there are schizos that send superchats but I'm mostly interested in the whole chaotic dichotomy that would result from schizos as a concept. Chuubanite powers that could go any which way in an very destructive manner wielded by someone that is already mentally insane can be taken in many directions.

>> No.23476991

unless you happen to be the targets of their raids
For the superchat, I guess some schizos do send questionable ones that can be considered more disruptive since they're more likely to be read by the relevant vtuber compared with random posts here. Maybe the rituals can be related to that? Especially if the blood comes from a follower of the vtuber (as suggested in >>23474892) that might imply a more direct connection.

Agreed. Schizos should be a broad term that describes anything from dedicated antis, dramafags to unicorns, anyone who endangers the chuuba basically. Only yab SCs should be considered schizo behaviour and normal SCs are just regular sacrifices made to the chuuba.

>>23474892
>>23472805
I tried to introduce an Anti-Chuubanite(in the schizo rentry) that's specifically for the schizos that have the ability to change others into them. The idea was that while anti-chuubanite can't be used to create any of the properties of normal chuubanite, it can be used to give artefacts power. Your types of refined Schizonium can probably be integrated into that.
Although I didn't write it in the rentry my version of anti-chuubanite is supposed to be "tranmuted" from normal, characterless chuubanite in a similar process as chuuba aligned chuubanite. As such, schizo territory in the Northern Wastes is practically full of them and a large, sustained schizo incursion would basically poison the soil and water as well, in order to simulate threads growing weaker from its effect. Since Schizos are a part of the world lore like chuubanite I'd like to consolidate it sooner rather than later. If you have any suggestions feel free to point them out. Else if you have a completely different vision we can just vote on it.

Yo Luknight! The idea of a schizo-type chuubanite has been floating around for a while now, so it would be a good idea to formalize it! We already have a lore entry on schizos that you might want to check if you haven't already. It doesn't interfere with your proposal, they go along very well if anything. https://rentry.org/5cz4q

I think that would make the most sense. The more oddball superchats that occasionally show up are my idea of what a schizo red akasupa would be representative of be it extremely unhinged in a positive way or extremely unhinged in the normal way.
>>23478703
>>23479234
Ah I didn't see it before! I must've glanced by the schizo lore rentry but reading it over now I'm really happy. I wanted to make a little conan esque short story about hunting down powerful schizo mages but I wasn't sure how much actually aligned with what was written.

>> No.23479891

>>23479234
Yeah I didn't describe the process of make the artefacts but the two types of refined Schizonium can be easily integrated. Ones that require sacrifices are (probably) used of artefacts that are related to life & death and the Hecatomb is for items that are specifically for transforming people into schizos.

I like the idea that anti-chuubanite drives people insane, although I'm not too sure about them coming from characterless chuubanite. I think it might be better to say they can be transmuted from all other kinds of chuubanite, to represent the idea that every vtuber can (and probably has) their own schizos.
I'm thinking if anti-chuubanite has the ability to weaken chuubanite effects in the vicinity, especially when amplified by tools and/or rituals such as Sacrificial Schizonium mentioned above. There might even be more powerful forms of schizo rituals that can poison specific chuubanite effects in the area by making their presence "rent free" for the gods and their followers.

I know I have to wait for civil war arc to end. After watching a documentary I have a few ideas. The idea is mammoths would be wilder than elephants. Also mammoths would travel between territories. They have very long treks moving from north to south. My guess is mammoths will go as far as /uuu/ during winter then migrate to /nasa/ and /rbc/ during summer. Mammoths would not be hostile to Robosans as Robosans are lazy androids. They will be hostile to Sanalites as we're way too close to the schizos that hunt them.

Speaking of schizos their raids get worse during the summer and fall as that's when we harvest most of our crops. Schizos will also hunt local wildlife during this time as well. Schizos will be no strangers to raiding /nasa/ ranches for cattle and poultry. So during these times /nasa/ has to increase security. Also schizos love to team up with mozzies in hopes to eventually destroy /nasa/. I fear the mozzies will organize the schizos and turn them into a holy imperial alliance.

The station is a long rocket during the crash. Now that its unfolded the station should look like a central tower surrounded by three support towers. There's a ring connecting the towers that serve as transport. The sides of the ship unfold to make the bulk of the city. There are two levels of the city. Residential is on the top layer along with green houses while industrial is underneath. The cities are covered in glass domes. I think that covers the basics. The station itself is space minimalist but there are hologram billboards and lots of lights.

Greetings gentlemen. I decided 2 things. 1 is that im just gonna continue captains logs since re organizing lore of risu is an asspain. 2 is that instead of trying to do all that shit at once im gonna split up the lore into different chapters that cover different sections of lore. That way I can look at it as small individual projects and not fuck myself. Now since ill be home the rest of the day ill take any questions. Questions for luknights and rosebro which are both similar. What are the chances of risuners getting that luknight opal? Is it gonna be one of those hard to get items or is it simply just a "fuck no" situation? And to roseanon are rosestones intented to be gemstones or just very fancy rocks that shine like them? And how willing are you to sell them to risuners for risuner stuff? And actually another question about exploring since risuners are gonna keep sending scout teams inland, are you ever gonna let them go underground to all that good shit? Good day to you all

The stainless steel shipbuilding tools were stolen from NASA (this is our unofficial name for now). So the tools will arrive to /risu/ via black market traders. The black market trader has passed customs by impersonating as an official Sanalite trader with forged paper documents (since NASA papers are printed instead of hand written it's easy to forge forms with the right paper stock, and unless you had the original side by side you wouldn't know). He will arrive at /risu/'s port along with other bulk trade shipments. Unless /ahoy/ or /meat/ get to the ships first.

The black market trader used a copy of a form he made from the Principal's office just before lockdown. The trader is going to want either gold or gemstones for his venture. Nuts simply won't do. He's also paranoid of bread dogs following him. Anyway if the black trader Sanalite gets "recovered" by D0G-G0!s and the tools wind up in /risu/ waters then the D0G-G0! is ordered by the Principal to leave the tools behind. The tools were suppose to be a capital investment out of the Principal's pocket to send to /risu/ in return for a discount on nut trades.

Rosestones are gems, its referred to as Rosestone like how a gem is referred to as gemstone. I'd be willing to trade them with Risuners, nuts for stones sounds good to me.
As for the underground, they'd be let in eventually. But it would be only a few, like two or three of your highest ranks, and they would be surrounded by guards at all times. It'd be a straight trip to the capital and its guest area, no visiting other areas anywhere. Very hostile atmosphere, since they're pretty secluded down there. >>23436932 (holy fuck risuner remembered to anchor)

Sumargo logs ch 3.
3 months in /rose/

Alright a lot of decisions have been made. We must wait for the summer of this land to travel back to /risu/. Of course this means we will be here for a while. Well its not all bad here as the locals have been pretty friendly so far.

It's a damn shame that it took my scouts this long to find anything but it seems they found the remains of some city. Destroyed stone homes or what appear to be homes. Something terrible must have happened here. Strangely inside one of the ruins we found lots of stuff relating to flowers. Did flowers use to bloom here?

As far as language goes a few of my guys have been picked and dedicated to learning how they speak and acting as translators. Of course they have been teaching me as well and we can now communicate using extreme basic sentences. 3 months of being anywhere will teach you a lot of things.
I feel that since we are the visitors that it would be appropriate and polite for us to speak to them in their native tongue instead of trying to get them to speak our language. We will ask them to learn from us if we ever see their boats approach us (do these people have boats)?
In fact that's a good idea, I should ask if some of these rosebuds want to come back to /risu/ once we set sail. I'm sure they would love an environment that resembles their own bodies.

About our survival situation. Its getting colder but we have much more knowledge of surviving in the cold. Lots of us have grown accustomed to cuddling with each other using our tails to warm ourselves up. We kind of have to since its too late to travel back and it will be half a year before we can travel back as I said before. Luckily these shiny gems that are apparantely called "rosestones" make heat.
So not only do these people seem to love nature but they also have the power of magical gems. I only wish I knew how our own magic gems worked. Maybe one day ill be promoted enough to learn about the rumored "gem witches" but thats for another day. We really do need to start trading more of our stuff for these rosestones. Surely the rosebuds must find a way to use our nuts! Even if its to make trees or for eating or something.
We like cuddling with any of the rosebuds that offer but these are very few. The ones that do come around however seem to really like us. Like always they definitely don't seem interested in doing a nut exchange and once again i had to smell that absolutely DISGUSTING odor a few weeks back. Likewise I have come to the possible conclusion that these people seem to look a bit down on us due to our constant sexual activity.

These rosebuds from what we can tell also seem to have some form of government system. They have ranks among themselves but for some reason their bigger leaders are nowhere to be found? There is way too much missing that I need to know. In a few months however then surely we will know enough of their language to be able to effectively communicate with them. And when we do of course our priority will be to gather knowledge and rosestones.
I just hope that our witches back home get a good use of these rosestones because it was really annoying at first to deal with this cold. But if my plans go as I expect them to then we should be sitting comfy very soon.

Characterless chuubanite still exists in various countries, unclaimed territories and the northern wastes. The only way to produce anti-chuubanite is to have a large number of schizos in proximity of any chuubanite for an extended period of time. My idea is that since the wastes can't possibly be full of schizo settlements, anti-chuubanite can only be found in caves and villages built by schizos. But a sustained raid can turn some of the chuubanite(especially near the surface) in the recipient country into anti-chuubanite, so say if /risu/ got raided some of the forests would be tainted and became a sort of exclusion zone until the raid is stemmed and the thread returns to normal(a new bread being baked).
I like the idea of anti-chuubanite weakening chuuba magic and having various effects based on how it is refined. The only effect stated in the rentry is that shamans can use artefacts to make more schizos but I didn't elaborate on how they actually cast magic. This can be it.

>> No.23510741

>>23510437
I don't know what to think of characterless chuubanite, but I suppose it doesn't matter that much as long as other chuubanite can also be transmuted into anti-chuubanite. I also like the idea that raids themselves can turn chuubanite into anti-chuubanite until it's reversed.

>> No.23511014

>>23510437
Ah this is a pain, I understood that the way chuubanite is supposed to work is that absolutely anyone can use it, the thing that changes is the techniques used to handle it and its enviroment, right? /risu/'s chuubanite gets affected by the forest and viceversa. This is because chuubanite absorbs force (or energy or whatever) and this force can be expelled in some way, the clearest example of this was Sakuran and /kfp/ using heated chuubanite as a flamethrower equivalent, heat would go in and they'd expel it in the shape of a weapon. Chuubanite is already supposed to be characterless.
This removes the need for any anti-chuubanite, as schizos would simply use their own techniques to use it instead of directly modifying how it works. For example, maybe schizo chuubanite could be modified into a gas not unlike that of /morig/ and /meat/ that drives victims into insanity instead of this weird anti-chuubanite shit.

Ok, so this is a question mostly for /nasa/ but I just woke up and had the craziest idea: We haven't really done anything with the giant block of chuubanite we have on the station. So what would you think if said block conveniently went missing at the end of the arc, setting us for civil war arc season two: Heretical winter

I don't think we established where chuubanite got its energy from, but so far it seems chuubanite is (mostly?) associated with specific vtubers, which in turns is implied to be what makes different chuubanite have different effect - /meat/ chuubanite binds with organic matter and quickens cell cycle; /meat/ chuubanite binds with plants and accelerates growth; /morig/ chuubanite creates coldness, and so on.
I think anti-chuubanite can technically be considered a kind of chuubanite, just one that's considered anathema to most other vtubers and thus chuubanite. It probably drives people crazy in a specific manner that makes then schizos.

I would say there's still a need for anti-chuubanite as it's the stuff that makes people mad and taints the land. The refinement process is only meant to make artefacts that gives the shamans magical power. I also meant to have some prolonged raids absorb the local population by them consuming the tainted water and corps and be purposefully transformed by using artefacts. The shamans are the ones who are posting bait and such in the thread. Think of the shamans like the vampire counts in warhammer and normal schizos as the skeletons and such they summon. If you successfully deny them of supplies and manpower they would windle and scatter. Not unlike how threads deal with them by ignoring and reporting.

anti-chuubanite as a concept has been debated for a very long time. personally, i dislike the idea of the mere presence of a faction making other people's chuubanite change on a chemical level, such that they need to go through the whole process of remaking all their chuubanite technology. i also don't like the idea that the mere presence of followers would change any aspect of chuubanite, either. if you want schizoium it must be a physical element, not just chuubanite in the hands of schizos, and if it can weaken chuubanite effects, it must either do so only on contact, or else it must be very temporary. one idea for what element it would be is something that is also very good at binding with vitubium, that on contact can force any chuubanite to become a different, more stable form of chuubanite, probably with lead. if it is nonlocal, it must be temporary, and will likely be caused by an energy that interferes with the natural chuubanite energies.

Ok, so I haven't really been keeping up with the chuubanite discussion, since it was happening while I was at work during the week, but here is my two cents:

1. Living beings(humans, animals and plants) act as conduits for the chuuba's power. That power is not alligned to anyone in particular, it is the raw stuff that composes the "divine realm";
2. Natural Chuubanite is inherently not alligned with any chuuba, and can only be used as an energy source, like in the current archived proposal
3. By handling the unalligned Chuubanite a certain way, something which certain animals and plants do naturally, it can be alligned to a certain chuuba
4. Schizo Chuubanite is also created this way, but unlike Chuubanite alligned to other chuubas, it acts not upon the physical world, but the flow of energy that is always passing through us from the "divine realm". My contorting and twisting it corrupting our very souls, creating a new schizo.

but, chuubanite is already in the air, the question is how it gets it's energy. my proposition that i have been holding for a very long time was that it came from a sort of conceptual universe. idk any other interpretations, so maybe we can do a vote or something on whether or not this should be the established energy source until further notice, or until someone has a different interpretation.

warp suggestion is one of them, the others so far have been the enviromental reasons for it.
Vtuber specific chuubanite has been described as result of circumstance by a few generals, /morig/'s chuubanite is related to the volcano in some way, we can probably get some strange interactions of thermodynamics to explain it, maybe the chuubanite absorbs the volcano's heat and that cools down the island. /meat/'s chuubanite is always related to flesh, i remember a suggestion for it being that the chuubanite bonds with the flesh and that's why it increases regeneration, basically a healthpack, in this case, maybe we can add things in like special plants and medicines that encourage regeneration to /meat/'s chuubanite.

The transformation takes time just like how the chuubanite of X-chuuba won't suddenly become Y-chuuba's chuubanite when it end up in that country. Since the effect takes time and has a limited range not all of the chuubanite would be transformed into the anti variant just from one raid. So say a huge chuck of chuubanite vein undergound would need to have hundreds of schizos living in close proximity for years and years to be transformed into anti-chuubanite but the stray chuubanite particles in soil can be transformed in mere days and weeks. So your chuubanite staff of flame throwers wouldn't be completely useless when facing schizos. We can also make it so the effect dissipates quickly once the raid is repelled and rites can accelerate that process(e.g. making a new bread). The weakening effect can be limited to artefacts that are purposefully built for such purpose.

One thing I was thinking about was if our chuubanite would start up nuclear fusion under right conditions, similar to a star, just on a infinitely smaller scale. It would fuse elements, releasing energy, until it reaches iron(at which point it would need to use energy to fuse even further down the periodic table). That way it could be used as a source of energy once we get the infrastructure going, as well as a source of iron. If someone is more knowledgeable about this subject, feel free to debunk this.

you'll have to stretch the definition of that to the point of meaningless. correct me if i am wrong, since i don't exactly involve myself with /nasfaqg/ that much, but /nasfaqg/ is not tied to any chuuba, it is not tied to the concept of a chuuba, and it is not directly tied to the concept of multiple chuubas. it is tied to the concept of multiple currencies backed by the actions of various chuubas, meaning it is a thread about those currencies, with the chuubas merely being what backs them. to be even more technical, it is a thread about a virtual stock market. there was some guy who tried to make this argument in the past, i'm not sure if that was you, but if so, please stop trying to push this idea, it doesn't work, and we haven't even gotten into how we would measure how much energy any given thread would get based on this.

No need to put it in those terms, I could easily ask you to stop trying to push your idea, but I don't because this isn't how you conduct a productive discussion. Considering ideas critically is how you do that.
Now, if you checked out /nasfaqg/ (You should, it's fun!) I think you'd see it's very much about the chuubas. Similarly, /#/ is about chuubas, and /horni/ is about chuubas. If the threads were not fundamentally about and driven by chuubas, they wouldn't be on /vt/ the vtuber board. In fact, jannies will remove threads that are not related to chuubas.
Bringing up the energy given to any given thread seems like a fruitless endeavour. I mean, whether we're talking about chuubas or about concepts I don't see how you'd calculate that, unless it's completely arbitrary, or like, based on thread statistics like IP counts and such.

inducing insanity and interfering in chuubanite energy is possible, i just don't like the way you are suggesting it be done, nor do i like the fact that you want to be able to change the physical world with purely psychic energy without going through some process of giving that phychic energy an actual reason to have a physical effect.
>>23517098
you say /nasfaqg/ is very much about chuubas. is my interpretation of what it is wrong, and if so, how? if my interpretation is accurate, it is not about chuubas for the reasons i specified. it is about a vtuber themed stock market, but it's the stock market that the thread is chiefly about, not the vtubers. the fact that vtubers are involved makes it relevant to the vtuber thread, but it is only thematically vtuber related. same with the minecraft server, and even this thread we are on right now. you need to argue a little in bad faith to say every thread on /vt/ is tied to a chuuba, or subsect of chuubas, and that is why i told you to stop pushing the idea, because it doesn't work. your suggestion was
>the power of chuubanite came from chuubas
and now you are arguing that that it is a fruitless endeavor to try to calculate that power because everything is arbitrary on a world building thread, where we are only dealing with concepts anyways. your suggestion precludes the ability to quantify it "simply" or "elegantly" whereas mine gives us a more indepth explanation for things that not only can make calculating a concept's strength simple and elegant, but that we have in fact already discussed some time ago. all i'm saying is that i can't see any area where your explanation is competitive with any other, or even simply not having an explanation in the first place, so why try to push it if, after considering it from a critical standpoint, it clearly doesn't work? also, i would say /#/ is about chuubas, since the thread subject is a fewer number of steps away from the chuubas, and at least some content on /horni/ could be considered being about the chuuba themselves, but usually isn't. you have to do mental gymnastics to argue that every thread on /vt/ is related to a chuuba.

Okay okay
Drop anti-chuubanite idea, because the idea of an 'anti-mcguffin' is too cliche plus the concept is reaching into high fantasy territory.
I have a better proposal for Schizonite; it's a type of chuubanite that binds to the negative energy of ANY chuuba. Every time a chuuba rages, cause a yab, starts something bad, schizonite grows/regains energy. Schizonite's ability is to corrupt other vtubium forms by sapping their energy, decaying them, and making them unstable. A chunk of Sana vtubium would explode into cosmic rays, a piece of Kiki vtubium would create horrible amalgamations instead of taming animals, /meat/ vtubium would cause rapid decay instead of fleshkinesis.

I kind of prefer the idea of schizonite having consistent effects regardless of which chuuba the schizo is sperging about, cuz in my experience schizos tend to have the same behavior wherever they are. I don't dislike the idea of vtuber-specific schizonite either though.

as i expected, all you have are loose connections. i take it you think every concept is about humans since humans are the only ones who can think about them. as for the strength of a concept, i gave the analogy of a cylinder with how specific/vague the concept is (ie, how many other concepts are connected to it) deciding how long the radius is, and how commonly the concept can be found as it's height/the total fuel of it. a concept that is specific, such as a single number or sequence of numbers, lets say the fibonacci sequence, has a cylinder with a very large radius, and can therefore burn a large amount of fuel (is more powerful, but runs out quicker) but it also is found just about everywhere (and therefore has a large reserve of fuel, ie, it decays in use at a slower rate.) and therefore concepts such as the fibonacci sequence are ideal, but of course other concepts are either more vague, or less common. for instance, /horni/'s concept is honiness, which is very common, but also very vague. certainly more vague than a specific fetish thread, which might be less common, which is relatively more common, and more vague than a thread dedicated to a corporation, further still an individual chuuba. figuring out how much energy a generator makes is arbitrary without defining what a unit of energy is, such as a joule, but until someone defines such a unit, we can use this concept to at least figure out how everyone compares to each other.
>I'd suggest that you not say someone's idea "clearly doesn't work", especially in a topic where whether something works or not is rather ambiguous and objective. It's a bit rude.
i don't mean to be rude, i just want the setting to be grounded in some degree of realism. your idea is fine if we wanted to disregard realism, but i would see that as a failure of world building. specific stories taking place in universes that only exist as a place for that story to take place in can get away with poorly designed universes with bad world building because the point of making those universes isn't to flesh them out and make them work as concepts, but to have them set in the background and forgotten. good works of fiction will often try to make their setting grounded by using world building to create an interesting universe in addition to an interesting story because making an interesting universe can make your stories even more interesting than they would be without. with all this in mind, i can't help but see your suggestion as being less grounded than mine. you can say it's ambiguous and not objective (i think that's what you meant there) but i don't think you can deny that my idea is able to cut of at least a few more layers of ambiguity than yours, at least in the way you have described it.
>>23521120
i don't think anti-chuubanite as a concept is bad, just that every suggestion so far has done it poorly. there seems to be two interpretations most people take, either it literally does nothing whatsoever, or it changes the way the universe itself works. with the right balancing i think anti-chuubanite could be an interesting inclusion into our setting, with that said, this new idea is way better in my opinion. you could say the doxing schizos kill off some of the mystery of chuubas, but all schizos bring out the worst in the chuubas and their fans, and the negative effect of any given chuubanite allows for more interesting dynamics to play out. with that being said, you should let each thread decide what their negative effect is. personally, the way i see it, it can either be a reversal of their original chuubanite effect, which i think is a bit boring desu, or it can be a negative interpretation of the normal chuubanite effect, representing the toxicity of a chuuba and their fanbase. i can't speak for other threads, so to use /meat/ as an example, /meat/ chuubanite makes things go through the life cycle at a faster pace, which can cause imperfect healing and cancerous growth, but /meat/ gets around this by having skilled medics, but negative /meat/ chuubanite could be even harder to control, think love town or mitty. this represents the fears some people have about us encouraging other people to do bad things, or the idea that we are a bunch of degenerates. this is just a hypothetical example, i'd have to talk with the rest of my thread to hammer out a good suggestion.

schizos having the same behavior wherever they are could have more to do with administration method than the actual effect their behavior incites.

>figuring out how much energy a generator makes is arbitrary without defining what a unit of energy is, such as a joule, but until someone defines such a unit, we can use this concept to at least figure out how everyone compares to each other.
Well, that's why I asked for a worked example, because I struggle to see at what step those numbers would not be arbitrary. What would be the ratio in chuuba energy between /horni/ and /meat/?
Also an issue with generalizing the energy generation to all concepts is that this doesn't correlate with the reality of /vt/, we don't have Fibonacci Sequence threads, or woodworking threads, or gravity threads. All we have are vtuber-related threads.
I also struggle to see how chuubanite being powered by chuubas is less realistic than it being powered by concepts. Both require similar levels of suspension of disbelief to me, but the former seems more grounded in the lore of the generals and thematic, where the latter is vaguer and less connected to vtubers.

TLDR (please correct me if i misinterpreted any ideas.)
First Paragraph:
/nasfaqg/ and /horni/ work on inherently ambigous and vague relationships with the vtubers in question, as opposed to more specific generals who are focused on individual talents and/or corporations.
Just thinking about the chuuba while you do something is not enough, otherwise you end up with arbitrary numbers and concepts.
Quote:
Realism is far more interesting whenever building a world, limitations breed creativity and having a well defined system allows stories and works of fiction to be more interesting and fun.
Anti-chuubanite:
No suggestion as of now has been satisfactory, instead of making it work we could give directly negative concequences to chuubanite in addition to the positives decided upon by the generals themselves.

Is that right?

not quite. the standards for anti-chuubanite have fallen into one of two extremes, but it could work if proper balancing is used. also, his suggestion for how schizo chuubanite can corrupt other types of chuubanite into expressing a negative version of their original chuubanite effect is interesting to me, but i think each thread should be able to decide for themselves how that corruption is expressed.

shit, forgot to respond to you. /horni/ is vaguer and more common than /meat/, but could be argued to include /meat/ since some /meat/heads are horny, same with /hlg/ in comparison to any specific hololive chuuba thread. /meat/ in particular is pretty uncommon, but the concept of the life cycle is both more common, and more specific. this is where the really interesting part of the concept interpretation comes into play. while /horni/'s concept can be horniness, they could also define it in a different way, so long as it still accurately represents their thread. if your thread concept is one way, and your chuubanite effect would benefit more from another, you can use your creativity to think of a symbolic representation of your thread's concept/culture that would give you a more advantageous concept to work with. this partially answers your next question.
>we don't have Fibonacci Sequence threads, or woodworking threads, or gravity threads. All we have are vtuber-related threads.
1) symbolism. 2) the fibonacci sequence was an example, even if we say we can't use symbolism, a person is a concept. tell me who is gura? describe her to me without comparing her to a concept, let alone without using concepts to explain her, since language is just a method of expressing a concept. anything that can be conceptualized is a concept. 2) we have non-vtuber-related threads.
>if there were no humans, there would be no concepts, the actions of humans affect the concepts they come up with, thinkers are motivated to participate in thinking of conceptss because of other humans, one might even say thinkers are energized by humans. therefore, every concept is about humans
>I also struggle to see how chuubanite being powered by chuubas is less realistic than it being powered by concepts
where does the energy come from. do the chuubas give it to us directly, if so, where are these chuubas? does it come from our dedication to the chuubas, how can our thoughts and emotions be transformed from emotions and thoughts, into real physical effects that change some aspect of reality? my interpretation is capable of doing everything your interpretation can do, and then some, but it also has an explanation for it that is more grounded, which makes it more realistic. your explanation is a single step. "where does the energy come from, the chuubas. where do they get the energy, why does it have an effect, how does the energy get from the chuubas to chuubanite, why are there multiple types of chuubanite effects, etc. etc." you can't explain any of it by merely saying "it comes from chuubas", so it's about as simple as avoiding the questions completely, and it isn't all that elegant at all. your interpretation is not grounded, your interpretation of the lore of the generals and themes is faulty, and my interpretation is not vague, it is broad, difference being that one is confusing and ambiguous as a result of a lack of clarification, whereas the other incorporates a larger breadth of topics while still being clear about all of them. your interpretation is therefore more vague than mine, though i wouldn't exactly call either of our ideas vague. the concepts are a representation of the threads themselves. the energy doesn't have to be connected to vtubers at all, but since this is /vt/ there will be some connection to vtubers, even if it is a very loose and indirect connection such as /nasfaqg/. i never denied that there was a connection, just the idea that every thread in /vt/ is about vtubers, enough that chuubanite being powered by chuubas would make sense. not every thread is about vtubers, just like not every concept is about humans, it requires some degree of either bad faith, or mental gymnastics to argue that everything loosely connected to a topic is about that topic, unless you don't understand what the use of the word "about" does to the meaning of your statement, which i don't think is the case since even though i explained this distinction, you continue to push this fallacious argument.

>> No.23528662

>>23528014
Anon, you have this tendency of just saying your opinion is better instead of saying why. It makes for poor argumentation.
This doesn't really explain how you would quantify the energy levels. Basically, I'm asking whether you could come up with a number. Because if you can't, your whole argument about "how we would measure how much energy any given thread would get" is moot.
Anyway, I noticed all those questions deserve an answer on your part, so let's set this up point by point.
Where are the concepts?
Where do the concepts get energy from?
How do the concepts energy get to the chuubanite?
Why are there multiple chuubanite effects?
I'll answer those questions from my perspective.
The chuubas are in the Heavenly Realm, and may incarnate themselves in Vitubia occasionally (/here/tubers).
The energy comes from the chuubas.
The chuubas are Heavenly Beings and can tap the energy of their realm.
The energy of the Heavenly Realm comes from the support of beings from the lower realms (/vt/, /jp/, Youtube comment sections etc)
Chuubanite acts as a conduit for Heavenly Energy to leak into /vt/.
Chuubanite may be attuned to a set of chuubas assembled by a characteristic, and this set's size can be any number.
The chuubanite's attunement affects how the Heavenly Energy is transferred to /vt/.

Also, and I mean this in the absolute least snarky way possible, I don't think you know what fallacious means.

I felt so blessed after this stream. I finished the masks just in time to focus on it.
This entry doesn't really need to exist, but I spent the whole day researching how to render photorealistic diamonds, so here goes.

/morig/ Diamonds
The many diamond mines bored into the mountains of /morig/ provide the island with one of its most prized luxury goods. Diamonds, due to their exceptional hardness, have the highest affinity with Mori-type chuubanite of any known material, and thus accumulate and stabilize the substance while buried under the island. This gives their trademark slight pink tint and fluorescence. The gems are mostly used within the island, and exports to customers outside of the nation are rigorously regulated by the Goddess Faithful, ever careful to restrict the outflow of Mori-type chuubanite. Death Masks and other items of clothing from the rich, powerful and militarily inclined will often feature the diamonds, often as a status symbol, but more importantly to increase the amount of chuubanite found in Death Masks.
Diamonds mined farther from Mont Mori display a more subdued coloration, as expected.

Added to the "Natural Resources of /morig/" document.

>I noticed all those questions deserve an answer
these answers are literally just mine, but made to artificially eliminate anything but the chuubas themselves. the reason the heavenly realm being a universe of conceptual energy makes sense is because the energy can be said to seep out of the chuubanite like steam from a partially covered pot. you have to explain how the chuubas deliver power to the chuubanite, and why. the fact that most chuubas aren't /here/, but you know what, you don't need to explain anything anymore if you're just going to use my explanation. the only difference between our two interpretations is that mine accurately represents the fact that not all /vt/ threads are about chuubas, and yours doesn't. also, name one instance where i said my opinion was better before going into great detail as to why. also, it is fallacious as in it is a fallacy. you are conflating topics that are connected to another topic with topics about that topic, and you are using a form of willful ignorance to avoid acknowledging the distinction. are you honestly claiming you can't see the fallacy in that? or perhaps you are the one that doesn't know what fallacious means.

I can make up a method of measurement if you want. Chuubanite power comes from view-hours per day of the thread's posters/number of posters, there. Obviously this is flawed, because it is too rigid a measurement, just as your calculus is flawed because one would have to somehow come up with a number for how strong horniness is. In the end, either require a degree of arbitration.
Well, yes my interpretation is almost the same as yours, which is why I'm surprised you oppose it strongly. As you say, I can just respond the chuuba's energy seeps out of the chuubanite like steam from a partially covered pot.
I guess the sticking point is that I still disagree there are threads on /vt/ - Virtual Youtubers that aren't about vtubers. Thus, my interpretation accurately represents the fact all /vt/ threads are related to vtubers.
My main fundamental issue with linking chuubanite with concepts instead of chuubas is that it makes straightforward sense that worshipping a chuuba would empower the chuuba. You might worship her because she's thick, as in /ag/, or worship her because she staples her vagina, as in /meat/, or worship her because she has amazing dividends, as in /nasfaqg/, but in the end you're here because of your oshi. If your worship of your chuuba empowered some nebulous concept instead of your oshi, what's the point of worshipping?
Basically, concepts are not charismatic, while chuubas are, which is why they're a more proper object of worship.
Moreover, the chuuba do exist as beings from a higher realm; what's the point of their existence if they have no way to affect our world?

Does the infusion of chuubanite give the diamonds other qualities apart from its tint and fluorescence? Do they generate coldness as well, or is it something unique to Mt. Mori?

>> No.23530875

I don't think we're quite decided on whether heat absorption is something just Mont Mori does, or it's something Mori-type chuubanite does and the Mont is just the greatest accumulation of it in the world. The latter has a nice sense of consistency, we should try to hash this out. Plus diamonds also tend to be naturally cold due to their thermal conductivity, so that would play into that.
I would say it would make the diamonds tougher though. Not harder, you can't get much harder than diamond, but it would make the structure less prone to fractures less brittle, one might say, similar to carbonado diamonds but while retaining the clarity.

horniness is a parent concept to all kinks and sexuality, which is a countable infinite. countable infinites are smaller than uncountable infinites. emotion includes horniness, and therefore is it's parent concept. concepts can have multiple parent concepts, like a stock market and a group of virtual anime avatars, though some parent concepts are less influential on the concept and are therefore looser parents, same can be said for child concepts. the number of child concepts of any given concept represents it's vagueness. a single unit of vagueness (v) represents x number of child concepts. the maximum size of a conceptual cylinder's radius is (p) and represents how much fuel is burned in a single unit of time (t). p has an inverse relationship to v, with p decreasing as v increases, but the rate that p decreases decays at an exponential rate (d). even if v is equal to a countable or uncountable infinite, p cannot go below 0. the height of the cylinder increases depending on commonness and the radius of the cylinder (c*(p-(v/d))) and represents fuel (f). f is equal to some function of c, and is not affected by the height of the cylinder. commonness refers to how prevalent a concept is in the universe at any given time. c can fluctuate with time, such as the waxing and waning of the moon going through the lunar cycle. f decreases at a rate of (p-(v/d))*t. i'll post this and add to it later, but i am pretty sure some of my equations are mathematically incorrect. if someone could help me fix them, that would be appreciated. sorry for being a dumbass. if anyone has any questions about what all this means, just ask.

i'm going to simplify my responce. 1) you clearly don't understand my suggestion. the warp from 40k is a good example. chuubas are concepts, just like literally everything, but also just like chaos gods, and the source of warp magic is not the chaos gods, but the warp itself, even if worshiping the chaos gods can empower their concepts, which is what they are. 2) if every thread in /vt/ is strictly about vtubers, and everyone on /vt/ is here just to worship their chuubas, then every thread on /v/ is strictly about videogames, and everyone on /v/ is there just to talk about their favorite games. 3) if you want this discussion to come to a conclusion, stop avoiding the about vs. related distinction. or are you perhaps scared because you know you can't keep making those arguments once you acknowledge there is a distinction?

A quick update on rock/stone types. I noticed that in indonesia that blue basalt is used a lot for statues. Others include lavastone, andersite, and limestone. Temples specifically are made of andersite in java. Wonder if these would be found in /risu/ if geo anons would be so kind? Right now were just using wood for pretty much everything. Also was looking more into fruits that risu would have since they dont eat JUST nuts. Food of course (and wood) is our primary export for those who care enough. We grow food at 3 times the speed if grown out of the ground.

I miss geo anon...
>stone
Basalt (including lavastone - blue basalt is metamorphic, which might not be common in /risu/ due to lack of geologic activities) should be available in /risu/, if not too significant in amount. It's an extrusive rock (meaning that it forms by lava spilling out and cooling down), so it could have formed in the ocean and eventually carried to /risu/. Andesite might not be as common, since it's more commonly found in island arcs, which Indonesia is, but /risu/ isn't. The tropical weathering means that many of the stone would have turned into laterite and kaolinite clay.
Limestone is likely to be the most common material on the list, alongside probably sandstone, so those can work for your more permanent building compared with wood.
As for fruits, /risu/ should be able to grow many tropical fruits, including citrus, banana, pineapple, and coconut.

>> No.23544655

>>23544056
i know laterite is pretty big and has been mentioned before. I completely forgot about sandstone desu. After a bit more research, I saw that limestone as well as granite and marble would be possibilities. I like the look of laterite and sandstone so Ill just say those unless some other risuners have different ideas?

>> No.23544949

>>23544655
Marble is metamorphosed limestone, which I'm not sure would be present in significant quantity in /risu/. Weathering might also be an issue, although I can't find much information on marble weathering outside acidic environment (although that might also be a problem since /risu/ soil would likely be acidic). Granite is igneous in nature, which also don't form in modern /risu/. Unlike marble, though, granite is TOUGH, so any granite that have been moved to /risu/ and exposed would stay there long after everything else has been weathered away, making them more likely to be present. That said, given /risu/'s still mostly stuck with stone and wood tool, with only a bit of iron tool starting to become available, working granite would be a very tedious process due to the aforementioned toughness.

I was asking because I've had an idea for a story on hold for a few months now and I feel like I should finally try to start working on it. I wanted to check whether writing for an "earlier time" would be fine since the story would happen at around and shortly after the Rushia debacle, which I assume would be a bit in the past by *now* in-universe.

I also wanted to know if there was a timeline so I could check if there were any other important events or stories happening at around that time in case i wanted to reference them, and also for consistency. I've been away for quite sometime and I'm still very out of loop on the recent events.

>> No.23547873

>>23547545
Yeah for sure anon, we've got a few events occurring in the "past" written out, though they don't really have dates assigned to them. Rushiagate would probably be a few years back in-universe at this point. /meat/ has a cool story that occurs around that time: rentry co/rs3v6
I believe that the decision on fandead's part was that /rushia/ exploded into a radioactive wasteland overrun by schizos and the survivors got to escape to a safe pocket in /jp/ through a portal opened by the event's spiritual energy (And presumably, those survivors have now returned in the Mike thread).

Republic Owl / Pecпyбликa Филин / République Hibou / 共和国 ワシミミズク
notes on political system

-unitary presidential republic
-regions have their elected officers participate in the republic (regional divisions still pending)
-still very centralized
-technically anyone can try to get elected
-rough factions and party system has formed (factions will be revised later)
-government departments will often have their own recruiting systems, but have to go by guidelines established by the Republic
-R.I.D. keeps documents on every elected officer
-urban regions are more militant (to increase the industrial power of the cities and republic as a whole)
-rural centers are more economically liberal (to get military demands out of their backs and increase their potential selling yields)
-president has a cabinet of the departments and persons of relevancy

Forgot to mention. It sucks that /nasa/'s deal to buy decomissioned /who/ ships got rejected by the state because we cannot use modern tools to rebuild ships. Also sucks the shipyard has to be 1750's technology with no modern tools allowed if we open it up to the public. /who/ has been kind to us but their patience is wearing thin. The bakery deal is about ready to implode as well. In fact I bet at the end if this deal the bakery is going to fully belong to /who/ with Sanalite immigrants.

rosebuds, i've been thinking about creating a conscript for a while that is read vertically, from top to bottom that's a bunch of roses there's a rose flower at the top, which has "roots" at the end which will indicate tone. The letters will be leaves arranged on a 2x2 grid down the "stem", two on each side, and any combination of those four being a different letter, this leaves (get it) us with 12 possible combinations, because four of them can't really be differentiated from others. I am also going to include a diacritic system, not for vowels but for something similar to japanese or arabic where it makes the consonant different, like germination, voiced or unvoiced, and maybe, MAYBE vowels, but i will likely give them their own letters, who knows, maybe I'll make those thorns instead of leaves.
it looks like picrel (no diacritics yet)
i know roses don't always grow individually like the form of this script implies but i don't care

i think you're replying to me. it's my brain always creating shit. which is nice when i need to do something for my art and writing classes, but it also never turns off so i'm always trying to make something new, and scripts are easier than elaborate art pieces.

adding onto the post, i'm also thinking about going along with making the vowels thorns, and then making the diacritics look like a detatched stamen and pistil, with dots that are supposed to be pollen. i think root shapes are going to indicate more tones than english writing does, like sarcasm, disgust, whether or not the information is considered good or bad, etc.

I guess I have to be prepared in the instance /nasa/'s bakery in /who/ is declined. Worse comes to worse /who/ can employ exiled Sanalites who have been given tattoos from /meat/. The exiled Sanalites will teach /who/ how to bake bread because fuck the grand directive at that point. As long as /who/ has their own flour then Sanalites can bake bread. This assumes /nasa/ goes back to isolationism because of the civil war arc.

Alright well I learned enough about rocks for one day. Yeah were gonna have a fuckload of laterite. Hot wet tropics is pretty much what /risu/ is and i can throw a few more in there but laterite will be pretty much dominant. Which also happens to make risu a massive iron/aluminum dump if anyone were to be able to mine it. We do have molerisuners that tunnel shit for gemtree farms and all that rock is used for stone tools mostly. Assuming stone axes can have laterite heads which i dont see why they cant. Gives risuners a very unique toolset of oxidized red color.

You can probably use gems for axheads, since they're generally pretty hard, and can be fairly durable if you pick ones that aren't too brittle (or just go through them at a speed)

>> No.23564595

>>23564306
Gems as axe heads are a generally bad idea because of how brittle they are. You might not be able to cut a diamond but you can smash it with a hammer. Bog Iron should suffice for axe heads. Iron's got the elasticity to absorb shocks from impact. Hell a stone or a bone axe would be better than a gemstone.
