BTTV is a 3rd party extension for Twitch that has many additional features (FFZ and 7TV are other popular ones)
One of these major features is way more emotes, including a lot of popular ones used in many channels. Creators can also upload some more of their own emotes as BTTV emotes but those emotes can only be used on channels that enable those emotes (and usually many streamers have their own bttv emotes only allowed to be used on their channel).
I would recommend getting some of those extension if you watch Twitch streams. You don't need to get all the extensions as some allows you to do stuff like enable features from other extensions. Best method I've heard is to get FFZ and enable BTTV and 7TV emotes on it
