/nasfaqg/ - NASFAQ General - Watch out for ID3 do your reps Edition

Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on holding of coins that represent the members of Hololive and some of their mamas.
This is a fake stock market game meant for FUN, not a real stock market (cryptofags will not be happy here either, no real money involved, NO you won't get better at stocks from this).

https://nasfaq.biz/info - READ THIS. No seriously read it, faggot.

I don't get mulitcoining. It seems like you'd need it to spike absurdly to make any sort of profit off it besides divs, but if you want to buy a lot of one coin you kinda need to unless you want to diligently x1 something all day (presuming you're trading manually like I do).

>> No.23191369

>>23191197
A coin drops from standard price by 30% at adjustment, it moves up 5% an hour. It is worth it to multicoin for the first couple hours, since you'll be able to buy even more at a discount than you would have otherwise. Overall, you will have played more efficiently.

You will need to, I'd suggest that you do it immediately if you can rather than later since it's more important at your current stage in the game.
The guy's talking about the old trade cycles which were every 15 minutes instead of 10. This was back when everybody traded manually, and had to be super efficient with their time. We all gained the ability to tell when the cycle was up naturally, no clock needed.

You can use the wallet analyzer in the OP to do something similar, get your rival's or whoever you are trying to stalk user ID and update the wallet analyzer every day, that way you can check what trades he's done and if he's stopped trading you can figure out when he did.
Or at least that's what I do.

If I'm playing ranked, I like to play two hours after I wake up. An hour before playing, I move a Monster Energy from the fridge to the freezer and start drinking it ICE COLD after half an hour. Once I am caffeinated and enjoying the rest of my drink, I start playing Mahjong. It almost always works, and the few times that I haven't done it I have failed catastrophically. Whether it's a good luck charm or just the aid of caffeine, it works and I swear it affects my sands.

Maybe all of them together? Or just to see the fastest rising/most recent accounts that reached a specific threshold, maybe in the top 1000.
So, for example, go by rank 1 and check the first transaction date, then go to rank 2 and check if the account has an earlier creation date than rank 1, if it does then include it and then move onto checking rank 3 against it, or if it doesn't check rank 3's first transaction date against rank 1 etc.

The point is to basically see the best performing accounts in the timeline.

It's pretty hard to see noticeable movement in the graphswith a networth of billions. What is 10m to a graph of 10b? That's literal pennies. The truth of the matter is that profits never really scaled to the growth of the game. Which makes it feel dead. I think at this stage is that we should see adjustment giving us 100k+- to get that early stage feel of progress

But that would be redundant, since we won't be able to capitalise on that profit fully. The reason the early game felt so good was that we kept those profits. We sold every single coin for a profit, leaving nothing left. It was super satisfying, and there was much more room for easily observable success and failure.

Since I've done my shitposting reps for the week since I haven't done so in a while, I'll actually comment on gameplay ideas for once.
The first and foremost longest standing issue with the game has and always will be inflation, however, it's never really been about liquid inflation, more so coin inflation, and has been something I've personally complained about for a bit. Now, I'll admit, I wasn't really an active player until June, but I had an account and lurked a bit since April, so I never experienced the true volatility of player based actions for myself, so I might be out of my element.
Your proposal of increasing multicoin accounts, highly speeds up this volume inflation, as people aren't against selling or buying per say, it's always been the amounts of returns, so your idea will work in the sense of actively promoting trading, but again, volatility needs to constantly be adjusted to better fit on how traders actively trade, as I personally, along with Tower and Target are managing to hold up hundreds of players of selling Towa to a price decrease of only $500 in 11 hours. Now, it is funny to me at least that I can do that, but it realistically shouldn't happen.
The market will eventually return to some sense of slowness after some time as a result of the need to constantly 0 out before dividends to some extent, and if you buff trading too hard, it promotes the richest players getting richer as these players can actively hold onto their wealth depending on how active they are. I personally have always feared the gap of someone new playing to never be able to experience climbing and these trading changes kind of ignore that to an extent, as you fail to account for the fact that trading profits can reach dividend profits to an extent as Asdae is racking up an insane amount of money from trading in the top 50, and honestly deserves a higher placement, but confounding an increase in trading profits along with dividends furthers any sense of gap between the rich and poor which sounds really socialist but is the best way of explaining it. Sorry if this sounds too anti-change, as I want change myself but, I'm not sure if multicoin is the best showing the history of what multicoin does to trading volumes.

The coin volume problem wouldn't exist in the model above, since it scales automatically. The more coins are bought, the more coins you can buy at a time. We will go Venezuela mode, but that's fine since that's how the game has always worked. If it gets ridiculous, we can slash zeroes that are inconsequential, because by that time whole numbers of coins/prices will be just that, inconequential. BBB market reports estimates the starting liquid to currently be at 200k for reference on your thing.
Taxes should stay in a sense since it does keep trading more nuanced instead of complete monkey mode, which is good.
As for your posts in actuality, in a sense, this "timekeeps" it, which is fine, but I worry that it would drastically time keep it too hard making it even more vital to be a NEET for the game or even worse, a server side trader (yuck, cringe... honk won't read this now). mogu himself once said he mindlessly was playing this game in order to maintain his lead, which is deserving but also kinda terrible from a long term satisfaction point as people are likely to burn out. You say it promotes newfags, but I see it in a completely opposite since, you can and always will be able to trade and make larger profits as a richer player, sure, the new players' MPP might be better, but it doesn't matter when I sit at 18k MPP Towa but with 10k shares while PoorChama has 100 shares at 16k MPP, I will make more money than him as I have more coins (if I were to sell Towa) to sell, depending on how players/market actually performs in return to the changes, as it can not and should not ever result in a straight line upwards/downwards on price if someone multibuys/multisells something.
The biggest issue with your idea is that devchamas have also repeatedly said that the actual market performs very differently from what they test and would require a bigger round of testing in order to conceivably do this as pure chaos is pretty fun, but also terrible if you're not benefiting from it, this is not an idea that can be thrown into the blender without actual testing and deliberation, especially compared to more simpler ones dealing with volatility or FIXING THE GOD DAMN MUSIC CHANNEL ADJUSTMENTS.
Your slashing zeros idea, is honestly not bad, as there is a sort of mental barrier to seeing Mr. Miyamoto at the top with 28 bil as you have 200k in starting cash.
Hope it all turns out fine.

no more testing please. just release anything and let the community actually help the devs balancing that shit. like you mentioned

>> No.23209821

I think true monkey mode is bad as there should be some complexity to the game and taxes do add a significant degree of that, especially with the latest changes to them.
I don't think for something like this it should be immediately released/dropped with no regards since it's a very drastic change to what we have now, chaos is fun to an extent, and people will break it (even if unintentionally), which is inevitable, but again, this is something that has to be tested even if privately as if someone actually ends up paying millions in broken taxes or someone somehow breaks the proposed multicoin and sells hundreds of thousands instantly at a set price and does the same buying at a low price, even unintentionally, it is funny/fun I agree, but there's a degree of fairness that should be maintained.

Honestly, I wanted to wait until Friday to see the numbers and make more conclusions, I'm not one to make predictions, but I'll just say it now since even I am becoming fed up with the place things are heading and if this is correct I'll be even sadder.
As I've pointed out in the past dividends are pooled at $1000 per coin, with the new additions to the market we now have 65 coins! This means a new pool of $65k to spread out in every coin. However, ZETA$, KOVALSKIA$ and KANAERU$ are all ID, meaning they most likely won't pull good weekly numbers for dividends, and not only this, but RUSHIA$ dividends have vanished, so, essentially, $5000 in dividends have freed up that will be slotted elsewhere.
This is why we are experiencing new records for dividends, like SUISEI$ hitting a $9k payout after becoming a music channel! And getting two coins above the so rare $4k mark, AQUA$, $4107, thanks to the apex tournament, and SUISEI$, $5409, thanks to both the apex tournament and music channel views!
Sadly, I expect this change to buff mostly metacoins, music channels will be even more broken than before, I'm not sure who will come out in top between MORI$ and SUISEI$ since Susei had the apex tournament buff and Mori hasn't streamed in a while.
But you can clearly see the problem, these "free" dividends will most likely go towards SUISEI$ and MORI$, on an average week you could probably expect $4k payouts from both, at their current prices you are paying on average around $36k for 10 MORI$ and $39k for 10 SUISEI$ both would give a 10% return on x10, if you don't see a problem with that then I don't know what to tell you, I was fine with MORI$ being the way she is because she had a hard cap at around 3.5k at max, which made her amazing, but there were still better deals to be made and people x10 MORI$ were actually losing when compared to other deals, but with how it will be now, it would most likely become the optimal play for long-term returns without taking inflation into account.
I really hope I'm wrong, but everything it's looking like this will be the case.
What's even dumber is that you don't even have to buy x10, that's for people like Cypher or priestess, lower ranked players will have to match x5 and x5 or some other combination, as soon as a new player leaves the heavy day-trading phase you would have to tell him to only buy SUISEI$ and MORI$ for the rest of his NASFAQ days, that's just awful.
And I agree with you, if there is something that needs to be done urgently is fixing music channels, provided that what I'm saying is true of course, it really is a horrible experience, and it will only get worse from now on, I could have further developed these ideas but since the thread is in a game talking mood and this popped out might as well post them even if they are half-cooked.

I don't really have much to say in response since I gave up on actively trading as a result of music channels and agree with you, I'll just make the note that the issue with music channels is not their dividend amounts, it's the fact their prices are fucked as a result of broken adjustments. Though that is not to say their dividend amounts are not too large, it's just the main value is from their high rate of return.
I've mentioned putting downard adjustment caps on music channels as a solution as a way of passively increasing the average price, but nothing has come as a result. It is very monotonous to be buying the same coins and all and nearly every instance of something like this happening like with Gura and $0.03 Rushia have been fixed, but Mori and other music channels haven't gotten the same treatment.

It's both, their price being kept low allows for high % returns , but dividends being capped at least kept them at a not bullshit broken point, but if they really do raise to $4k it's going to become a big problem, and of course they are amazing for hoarding to sell when they spike, and you don't lose from hoarding them thanks to their divs! Truly braindead, really makes angry.
I don't know much about programming but why can't Ms Honk do:
>if music.channel == True and daily.views < Susan Coefficient
>set.behavior == don't go down -10k for the love of god that's all I'm asking
I have no clue if that makes sense at all.
>>23210747
For the $1000 dividend average see >>23210875
You might also look at the F.U.C.K archives for the fact that $4k dividends used to be rare.
As to where the logic comes from I'm afraid I can't share as it's not entirely mine and frankly I don't even know how to really explain some of this stuff, just trust me that it does check out for predictions and dividend spread between coins. If it puts you at ease, most of these deductions and the supporting theory comes from Applause and it did work before ID3 debuted, it might need new calibrations and fine tuning, but it should still hold true for these deductions that are not very specific.

I don't think the div amount is as large of an issue as Holo and Gura are perfectly fine with their amounts as their ratio from price to dividends is much better (as in smaller). It's a more minor issue that comes with talking about dividends in general than something that is a result of bugs from the API that don't have to deal with market calculation. There's just not much incentive to even sell said coins as a result of the prices being messed up, so hoarding becomes viable.
As for the second point, I don't know personally, I'd imagine their issue is what defines the Susan coefficient's value since it would have to work both ways on upwards and downward adjustments. Plus I also mentioned the idea of fairness amongst coins, but music channels themselves inherently aren't fair, especially due to bugs from the API.
I started shitposting with easy mode as a result of garnering attention to it like it did with Rushia and Gura but alas here we are.
And your thoughts came across fine. Now only if there was about a year's worth of historical data of Mori's channel views and other music channels...

Taxes should stay, you are correct. I don't know how I used to think back then, but I know now that they do wonders for positive nuance. However, there should be a system in place that helps them to stay consistent with the scaling in this proposed change to the game. For instance, there would be a 45% tax on the maximum buy step, no matter what it is. Similarly, the maximum sale tax of 30% should stay. For example, when buying the max of 200 $50,000 coins per cycle, you will be paying $22,500 in taxes per coin. You would pay the same 45% for every coin at a max of 300, and so on. I think that would work well enough. The 'need' for becoming a NEET is a problem, since I can appreciate that a lot of people who play this game work full time jobs or attend university/college. As for a server-side trader, we can only pray...

You say that it will cause players to burn out, but the same can be observed in the current meta. The methods of play are boring and overly complicated (not complicated in a limiting way, but in an exhausting way), problems which are exacerbated by how many players find the stagnation of their wallets and the leadearboard to be a huge problem. They sit through the same boring thing every day, only to find that it didn't matter much. I would say the short to mid-term satisfaction of gaining AND keeping a leaderboard position after a great day/week of trading is much more effective at keeping players interested than the long-term (insignificant) satisfaction of gaining a couple places on the leaderboard after a month or two. Not to mention, the way you get there is even hopelessly soulless. The current meta of chasing a miniscule rate of appreciation is far more boring than anticipating and chasing the biggest spike of the day/week, something which the proposed meta will bring to the forefront of gameplay. It will be fun, and it will without a doubt bring life to the thread.

Now for the case of you and PoorChama. Let's assume that Towa spikes by 120% because she had a wonderful concert that everybody loved. With the radical system, Towa will not be moving at 5% per hour. She will be moving at something like 30% per hour, if not more. Compared to now where coins barely move that much in a day, having it move like that in an hour changes everything. PoorChama can sell all 100 coins in that first cycle (we definitely need to raise starting cash if this goes through), taking full advantage of that 120% spike (before considering the 30% sale tax). Of your 18k stack, you will only be able to sell 600 an hour (14400 a day). To add to that, you will probably only be making profit for the first few hours. While you have made a lot more money than PoorChama, your %profits will have been SO MUCH smaller. Think about it, what do the poor have right now? Prices that remain largely the same throughout the day, prices that benefit the rich. Being able to finish early in a much more volatile system benefits the poor much more than finishing early in the current system.

I agree, testing and deliberation are imperative if something like my proposal is to be considered. I wouldn't want the devs to release this immediately, I'd want them to do a LOT of thinking before action is taken. With that being said, I can't see a better way of 'fixing' the game's largest problem (largest besides MAYBE music channels, hopefully they do something about that some time soon).

It is hard to define when it should trigger, isn't it? I'm coming up with numbers on the fly right now but realistically, Suisei and Mori should never have lower than 200k views, their music influence is that big, perhaps the best way would be to record the days that the API goes wrong and try to get an upper and lower limit on their views? Maybe just the lower one and add the condition that if you are coming back from a API crash the new numbers don't count as hard as they should? There many ways to come up with possible solutions, the heart of the problem lies in which one is the best one or the one that feels fair to everyone.

Multicoin didn't exist way back then, that's why you probably was against it. If it was just a flat tax without multicoin stuff, sure, it's just annoying, but it's fine as it is now for adding nuance. As for NEET play style, I'd think most prefer not having to spending their entire time here if possible, as it can cause burn out and is generally just more annoying than it needs to be.

I do not disagree the current state of play is in the greatest situation, and a greater desire to fast track that, and honestly agree on these points, but I also find there are greater issues that can be tackled and are probably worth considering even before your proposal and easier (music channels for fucks sake). I largely just worry the long term repercussions and truly defining the methods of allowing multicoin in your post as it would be different for each coin. As for the thread, no comment, I just generally think there's a general feel of apathy at this point regardless if wacky hijinks happen with adjustment, since everyone knows everything will just stabilize/crab in the end, regardless of the changes proposed here.

For Mr. Poor, the % margins are larger, yes, but that has always been the case regardless as richer players are required to try and spend all their money before dividends, and trading profits have been consistently shown to be a key factor for climbing for newer players, regardless of your changes. It also does not account for the fact that when Mr. Poor is trying to catch up, his % margins will become much closer to mine as time comes along, but I still will have made a larger total profit over that same time frame than he has, which is what we're at now and which cycles back to a need for a high risk-high reward mechanic for the poor or rich to try and get ahead of the other or those around them.

Music channels should be fixed before your proposed changes go through as people can just abuse them harder likely in the future I will note. I am largely just acting as a counter argument for your ideas in the first place, than just letting them rot there, it seems fine but I always just worry about long term ramifications of them.

That's good to hear.
>>23214369
Lower limit should be easier to define as Towa sits at about 100k views passively from my experience, but the upper limit will be much harder as how do you define a legitimate good day from Mori getting double the views from the API without manual intervention?

Most people would prefer to not spend all their time on the game yes, but that's the point. The more time you spend on the game, the more you should get out of it. Besides, there won't be enough to consume your life. Absolutely not. Stream reps can be done every 6 or so hours, you can do it more frequently if you really want to. There won't be too much trouble on that front. Besides, with the current adjustment time a lot of people will be able to make their plays solely based off Poi (of course, they will be playing less efficiently than those who find important information immediately). The only other major thing to affect time usage is the increased importance of being present at (and sometimes a little while before) adjustment. While some people will be affected negatively, others will be affected positively. Some players can only have their computer open for so long, whether due to exorbitant electricity bills (hi SEA) or other factors. Think about it, they need to spend less time with their computer open overall, less time adjusting their trades. The much-increased volatility (and thus much-decreased buy/sell timeframe) is a great boon to them. Of course, some people can't be around for the adjustment but unfortunately not everybody can be pleased. Server-side or mobile support when?

After taking a while to think, I feel like the only pressing issues that should be considered over this are server-side trading and the fixing of music channels. These two things should be dealt with first.

>everything will just stabilize/crab in the end, regardless of the changes proposed here
Maybe true, but these changes make that unimportant. The changes allow for you to take greater advantage of a dip/spike. They allow you to move quicker on the leaderboard, they cement the positions that you gain rather than force you to move up and down based on the market's will. The game will be a hell of a lot more engaging if you're given heavily increased control over your wins and losses. If you screw up, you'll fall behind quicker than you would have before. If you succeed well, you'll see the effects immediately and permanently. A brief look at my previous post:
>Of your 18k stack, you will only be able to sell 600 an hour (14400 a day)
This is an example of what I'm trying to explain. In the standard model, you'll be able to sell 1440 at best, 8% of your stack. 92% of that stack is subject to the next adjustment's numbers, causing you to have only 8% control of what happens to your stack each adjustment. With the other model you can sell 14400 in a day, allowing you to have 80% control of the stack. It feels much better to be in majority control of your wallet daily, to have greater rewards for your actions.

Mr. Poor having larger % margins has always been the case, yes, but these % margins will be much larger than they are now. He will have even greater successes over the rich than before. As for Mr. Poor catching up to you and having smaller % margins, that becomes an issue of skill and effort. If he is skilled enough and/or puts enough time in, he will pass you. It may take a while, but it will sure as hell be quicker than it currently is.

Again, I can agree with you that the music channel fix is much more urgent. The server-side trader issue too.
I greatly appreciate that you're acting as devil's advocate here, it's far better than not getting any engagement at all. Thank you for your time, and thank you for your thoughts.

I would argue that it is a better solution to heavily discourage players from overhoarding coins. We have a lot of resources that analyze and break down when it is effective to Buy, but there's been no real work done to encourage people to Sell. We need more scenarios where players are put in a position where they have to legitimately consider the value of having liquid over holding a continued position.

Mori's brap meta was much more acceptable when it was more or less just a good pack mule to generate liquid that you bought and flipped the next day. Now it's a dividend workhorse stock, and inflates the entire market on its own. Suisei joining the mix makes it obvious that music channels need clipped down somehow.

Anons should give their nasfaq vision. Like what's a normal adjustment looks like? A normal gameplay look like? For me, I dream that we have 2 stage of gameplay. current market/normal trading will be newhags playground/way to earn while the billionaires play around options where it's high risk high reward. That you can literally lose 100m in a day rish tier. Divs will supplement both; early game it helps you to propel end game while in the end game, it's a real lifesaver.
