They had no other choice, you know how CN ended up after being ignored for so long, JP members visiting their MC server a couple of times is the only thing I can remember, and ID was going to end up the same way, I remember very few things with them too and then nothing. It took some time for them to finally pay attention to ID which is why they aren't full of resentment today. But yeah, that's one of the things I hate the most about Nijisanji.
