I had big issues with a bit of thermal paste in my ram slots. When the PC is unable to boot properly it goes into a screen for you to open up and check the bios settings. You have to go into the bios and save it before it'll boot properly. Sounds like she's got faulty ram.

PC troubleshooting actually makes me want to kill myself, especially the time I tried to fix it for 3 days straight only to find out that the hard drive had failed even though the damn thing was less than a year old

Both Mobo and CPU have specific RAM timings that they can use. Just because the CPU supports it doesnt mean the mobo does and viceversa. You can buy an asus tuf 570 with no wifi which is one of the best 570 boards you can get. The wifi one has tons of issues with the drivers like Ina was saying.
