Q1 denotes the first quarter of a year. In real-world markets, this is typically offset a bit due to the fiscal year starting in April, but for our purposes this report will note Q1 as being January 1st to March 31st. We are currently in Q2.
>What is the purpose of this report?
To summarize and visualize certain aspects of the market as they move over time. It's been a while since we've had a look at the market on a macro level, so these sorts of reports can help put into perspective how day-to-day motions can influence the market long term.

This first image covers the average distribution of Market Share in Q1.
>What is Market Share?
Market Share is how much weight a single coin has on the Total Market Value (or the sum of the current value of all held shares). For example, on January 10th, Ayame had 95,732 shares in circulation, valued at $9,324.60 per share, so her Market Value is $650,817,799.94. As the Total Market Value on January 10th was $174,941,374,393.40, Ayame had a Market Share of 0.63% on that day.

Remember that $HOLO was drastically boosted by HoloFes and Pekora got a surge from the Rushia announcement. There are outliers pushing the data higher. Remember this. It will be on the test.

This graph shows the progression of Total Market Value over Q1. There's not much to say here, as most people are already aware that inflation is a thing that is going to happen. Instead, I'll discuss inflation itself, since it seems to be a topic of interest, and understanding it is important to how the game functions.

>Why is inflation bad?
Volume Inflation makes it more difficult for players to influence the market in a reasonable amount of time, causing price stagnation and overreliance on adjustment time to make meaningful trading decisions. There's a balancing act here: If you're a trader that generally can't trade at or near adjustment time, overaggresive Volume Inflation will mean you have more time to make adjustment-based plays, as it will be longer before transactional volatility drags the coin back to pre-adjustment (if it does at all). As a trade-off, this reduces the impact of single-day trading, which is something lower-end traders deseperately need to get into the market, and higher-end traders can use to cut ahead of their rivals.
Value Inflation reduces the worth you can get out of obtaining or holding liquid. This forces more and more players to focus on progressively longer-term plays, as short-term plays that involve holding liquid become less viable. Remember: Liquid sitting in your wallet is not making you money, and does not increase in value, while coins you've invested in WILL typically increase in value. However, some short term plays rely on you procuring and camping on liquid to make a stronger play later on. If Value Inflation is too aggressive, these plays become less viable and must be executed on tighter windows of time.
Note that both forms of inflation are unavoidable: the goal is not to eliminate inflation, as it is impossible to do so in a non-zero-sum game, but to MANAGE inflation instead, preventing either form of inflation from getting too aggressive.

The difficulty is that you can easily see a trendline when it's something that's already happened, but it's difficult to predict the future, even when you have all of the past data and patterns in front of you. If you've opened the graph, you may have noticed a large spike between the 20th of Feburary and the 6th of March. So what the hell was that? That was the response of the market crashing hard on the 26th, then rebounding on the 27th. A bunch of high-profile coins went into the -20~30% range, and people bought the fuck out of them. Remember this. It will also be on the test.

What if instead of creating group chat every time there was just a single server with only voice channels, no text at all. I think a major issue with the way value inflation has been managed in the past is that those methods have always led to higher volume inflation, and I think volume inflation is a lot bigger of a bad than price inflation is. In fact, wouldn't price inflation naturally manage volume inflation, since currently the main way for new liquid to enter the market is dividends, and higher prices for coins would mean that you can buy less for any given amount of liquid?

Every coin should be 5-15k more expensive right now. Please devs let the inflation fix the market, aggressive overbought is madness.

Drastic value inflation punishes not maintaining a 0 balance of liquid, which at certain networths can't reasonably be done unless you micromanage the hell out of your trades and/or take a lot of bad deals, and eventually you get to the point where you have to do both. If there was a way to get value out of burning liquid, maybe. We've had networth deflation before when new hats and gacha items come out, but it's never enough to save the market because hats have no tangible value in relation to the market, and there's really not enough of them to get gacha rolls to dent the economy.
Oldhags may recognize this argument from when Superchats were initially implemented, before they became the source of tax credits. All the richfags threw in their hat to get the funni numbers of their choice, put their name on the leaderboards, and then dropped the mechanic forever. I see, I'm a victim of jealousy too. It really digs at me sometimes, it's one of the worst things a person can feel because it not only affects you, but if you let it get to you, it can affect your actions towards others too.
Keep that autism in check fren, having a rival is a double-edged sword. If it's someone you can't compete with, you shouldn't see them as a rival but instead someone you aspire to be like. Instead of getting depressed over not being competitive, you may want to try competing with yourself and nobody else. Work on improving your % gain in the Returns Report, try to beat your previous best rather than another player (keep in mind that it will be harder to keep that % gain rising every week, since people become less capable of efficiency when their net worth rises and their stacks grow). Sorry if this advice is useless, I've tried to use it on myself with mixed results. It sort of helped, kind of.

I started with 150k, that's much less than people are getting rn with is 230k.
It took me 10 days to go from 150k to 1m, and around 20 days to go from 1m to 10m. I didn't have an option to get an easy mode with calli to boost my cash.

Nasfaq is a solved game, there is really nothing hard in it.
Right now you can just go calli with is an extremely easy mode for beginners letting them double their money in 1 day if played well. I was extremely lucky in my early days with moona that blew to the moon.
