Which will probably take some time because around every tournament her talking about ap*x and playing it for hours on end seeps into outside of tournaments as well, unfortunately. Just like now, instead of scrimming for 1 week and tournament it's doing your own scrims for 3 weeks and then the regular scrim week + tournament like holy shit why

The only thing Matsuri will get out of this tournament is result disappointment and a bunch of dead subs because nobody watches a month of scrims in a row and she immediately is planning a break too, to really seal the deal on her pre-tournament upwards trend of popularity she had going on

-tournaments cause a bunch of dead subs every time, look at her average views drop for a longer while after every tournament
-pinky is NOT the #1 apex player by any means, despite how much she likes to claim he is

And she shouldn't need to "make efforts to diversifying content", that's what the default should be. She isn't an Apex main by default, it's the exception, not the rule.
I'm not complaining about last year's Apex spam, I drew comparisons to it to point out what will happen in current and future tournaments as well

You can call me out on my disdain an fixation on Apex, but on the contrary what's this thread's fixation with the idea of "leaving"? As for the "concept", I'm not quite sure if I completely get what you mean. You mean like she has moments where she's more of her irl self, and not her character? She's already known for being "very genuine" for a holo, so I guess it's already a part of her character. I don't know, I don't think that's the issue. I'm not even sure what the concept of Matsuri would be exactly, it's hard to pinpoint because she's quite multifaceted.

And I've been here for almost 3 years, I can assure you that this is not an unfamiliar side of hers. I wouldn't be skipping Apex if I didn't know already what kind of vibes and entertainment value she gives during it

I'm not shitting on her interests, Apex is in like my current top3 games. It's a great game. And I'm not shitting on her friends, if you mean what I said about pinky, I just stated a fact. He is absolutely not the #1 apex player and one ranked season finish at #1 doesn't make him the best either. Look at his tournament results. He can be a great guy and coach, sure, but the overt praise of him as this living god is just simply annoying imo.

I think she handled it mostly fine, but it's a continual learning process for her. When Pikafes had just started playing customs together I remember her getting a little tense because of an ult or skill usage that wasn't clearly communicated, but they talked it out after a wipe and Asumi's calls improved over time. That kind of recalibrating became a good routine for them and helped Matsuri get a better understanding of her team overall. She knew and was very understanding of Hoshikawa coming from Bloodhound and being green as Gibby, and was good about telling Hoshikawa when to dome. In general, I think she's good about accommodating who she is working with.

All that to say I don't think she has to worry about her expectations not being met; I think she would sooner blame herself for a misplay and try to find out where the gap is and rectify it. Ironing out those gaps is part of why they run those scrims.

The real play is to not rank up so she can play with Aqua and Towa... I find the point system too simple but it's like the best we have so whatever. As for their tournament performance.... personally, Matsuri wasn't thinking clearly and being decisive enough when it really mattered. They had really shitty rings to deal with, sure, but for the first couple rounds they were bantering too much and only focusing moment by moment. She could have been more focused -- she took the scrims more seriously. I think it was her way of coping with the pressure (something she would probably never admit to). Hoshikawa had her missed ult and Asumi just gassed out early on. Asumi's performance versus the performance of her senpais affected her mentality.
