Vtubers are already incredibly commercialized in japan, some variation of it is inevitable in the west. Kid's toy channels sell toys, but kids grow old. Cartoons don't grow old, they're perfect for it. It's amazing that this hasn't begun sooner.

Don't forget streaming to people online used to be an incredibly niche hobby, 8 years later amazon is buying twitch out for almost a billion dollars.
