Well I only watch the English branch. But the Niji girls are doing a lot of creative stuff all the time. Maybe it's not quite as magical as it was in the legenary Lazu-Obysidia era, but they're definitely still creative. Although I'm finding a lot more soul in the smaller corporations these days. Seriously, try watching Tsunderia some time. It's got that wild, untamed atmosphere Nijisanji EN used to have.

I blame Coco graduation. Without Coco bridge the gap with things like asacoco, eop doesn't know what's going on in jp stream anymore. No more guest in meme review, they don't spreading notable moment anymore because there's nobody worth show it to, there's only other Redditor. I like the small corpos but I realized while watching one the other day that the downside to being too small is that if they get lost in whatever game they're playing the chat might be too quiet and won't be able to help them figure out what they're doing wrong. It stresses me out a bit because I feel like maybe I should be speaking up and offering help if no one else is going to but I still don't like talking in chat. However this has its positives too because it means there's not a lot of backseating going on which I'm sure they appreciate, and it also encourages to figure things out for themselves so it makes them better gamers as a result, if they have any potential at least. So I guess that's a fair trade.

I stopped watching holos a year ago then felt nostalgic in recent months and wanted to re-watch some of them just to realize I cannot go back anymore, they are generally too limited in what they do, the collabs are nothing but dead air and the game variety is still the smallest out of them all.

the real reason I enjoyed them so much back then was because there was a huge community of fans making fun memes and art around everything they did, but that novelty passed out a long time ago, nowdays I enjoy chuubas that actually interact with their fans, can keep more interesting conversations during collabs and are much more open about their personal lives too.

lastly, I think there are still holos who are genuinely entertaining, in particular subaru and her close friends, FBK, okayu, korone, mio, choco, who are the original core of what made hololive popular in the first place, they are still doing their best and I respect them even today.
