NijiEn is the best thing that's happened to HoloEn. Without any competition they start putting in the minimal effort and their management turns to shit. The managers block any attempt at creating interesting content because yabs get them fired while kino is seen as par for the course. Meanwhile braindead fans throw millions of dollars at girls who show up for 2 hours a week.
If you actually care about the content you watch, you'd wish for even more competition so they all have a reason to make good content.

The right way you should look at this is HoloEN females vs NijiEN females
and hololive still dominates in this category. NijiEN males should not be pitted against holoEn females that is just retarded , for comparison its like when you put a tranny in women sports

I'm a Nijifag but HoloEN have probably done more to try to innovate or at least copy NijiEN in the last year than they ever did in the Myth-only era. They certainly do watch the competition and try to take what they can into their own streams. Stuff like Fauna doing her dumb veggie tier list right after Vox did one or Gura deciding to play Fortnite and drag the others into an impromptu collab right after Selen and Luxiem did one. Or how HoloEN suddenly started doing a lot more impromptu collabs through Discord as soon as NijiEN saw success through it. Sure their fans are annoying but the HoloEN brand is improving over time except for Sana.

It's ultimately good for the vtuber scene that both companies see eachother as respected rivals and aren't resting on their laurels. The first year of Myth was so fucking pathetic from Gura that I honestly believed she'd graduate as soon as her 1 year contract was up. Ame used to get called la creatividad for just incorporating other people's stream assets off Twitter into her streams or knowing how to use StreamElements lmao. When Rosemi and Selen showed up to prove what actual la creatividad looks like she had to step it up and improve her content a lot. They actually have to work for their success now and they seem genuinely happier for it instead of feeling like they're just coasting off the Hololive brand.

Gura's first year is literally cannot be duplicated with how quickly she skyrocketed everyone including fubuki and she was the former frontrunner unless you mean content wise then I guess that depends on you I suppose. But Ame? She was the one that created the stream accessories in the first place with the hands and what not. Unless you mean some other assets like VRchat. Although to be fair I never really know what Rosemi and Selen does outside of Selen laughing and Apex.
