Same. I only watch small indies with less than 50 viewers, they always seem to genuinely have fun and are happy to reply to chat. It's cozy. Of course that's not feasible with Holo views so it's not a fair comparison.

I read and watch much less manga and anime.

I started waking up a lot earlier to make sure I caught all of her streams, in addition to making it to the gym more consistently in the mornings since I would usually have time before the stream started.
I did cry multiple times during her most recent hiatus though and spent most of the month of March extremely depressed because my emotional state is now dependent on the whims of a Japanese 19 year old

Yes, my life has changed. I have another guilty pleasure I can't tell anyone about without them thinking I'm "strange" or need therapy. So yeah..When someone asks me what I enjoy I have to beat around the bush EVEN HARDER. Of course the end result is being thought of as strange anyway. fml. I suck at the life thing. I am disabled monkey. Other than that, at least vtubers are making me smile when I don't have much else that does lately so that's something I look forward to.

I used to watch an small indie that was very interactive with her community, but she suddenly ghosted out and never came back, after that I'm not going to watch another not Nijisanji/Holo vtuber ever, also you don't get too personally attached to the chuba so you have more freedom.
On topic, I started to learn japanese and I can mostly understand solo streams, I spend less time playing games because I usually watch them play and my work hours are a lot less boring now that I watch streams during work
Also I finally was able to drop WoW and LoL.

I started studying Japanese again after a decade of giving up. I elevated three grade levels in reading in 6 months. I've also started to understand a sliding scale of roughly 15-30% of what my oshi is talking about now (depending on what kind of stream). Never did my younger self imagine improvement in this regard.
