Plus out of everyone else, she's seen as the "safe boring" one. It is hard to hate Sora as she doesn't have a sharp, striking personality. How many of you watched Sora's V-Carnival performances? She killed hard on her songs, of course, but what impressed me even more was how much better she was than everyone else when it came to her choreography. The difference in breadth of experience with live VR performance between her and everyone else was very, very conspicuous.

Is there a reason why she can't/doesn't stream or otherwise try to reinvent herself? Is it just that Akari probably doesn't have any creative control and is contractually forbidden from doing so? Japanese companies are infamous for wanting to do everything themselves instead of licensing something that's already good for their own use, just ask any fighting game fan that's been wanting rollback netcode in their games, if they lack such capture methods it could literally take months if not years before they are able to even reach current Cover's status and by then Cover's status would be better

It's not that it's difficult, it's unwillingness to use someone else's product, indies have no choice but to do so but companies aren't happy with that, so instead they try to make their own product then try to sell it even if the current available options are already as good as its going to get, this is a problem everywhere, but Japanese companies in general tend to be even worse than average

while she switched from scripted videos to live streams in 2018. she was still doing her regular streams at the Cover studio though until COVID restrictions hit which was the reason she finally started to get things set up for home streaming last March. she's since said she likes the freedom to be able to decide her own schedule rather than being bound to staff availability and working around whatever else they have going on.

that's actually one thing I'm hopeful for with Cover saying they wanted to make an "MMO" that allowed people to interact with the talents - YAGOO is a VRfag, Cover has a partnership with HTC (which means not sucking Facebook dick like VARK) and VR can be an incredibly immersive experience.
