The vote will last for 48 hours, starting from the time where this post is made. The result will be compiled and posted within 24 hours after the end.

1. Following on the result of the last round of voting, what should be the nature of the common calendar used for the purpose of organising timelines and histories? This is an open-ended question, with the two main factors being voted on being:
>Year 0 of the calendar - when should it be defined? Please also make your suggestion for how years before and after the year should be marked e.g. BC/AD
>What is the current year?
>Other characteristics of the calendar can also be suggested, but otherwise it is assumed that it will be a typical solar calendar identical to Gregorian calendar that most of us are familiar with.

2. Based on the calendar discussed in 1., Should we decide on a loose thread-by-thread timescale? If so, please state your preferred scale e.g. 1 RL day = 1 in-game month. Be noted that non-concrete timescale e.g. "speed of plot" is also permissible.
>(Open question)

3. As suggested by the Sakuran representative, should a non-reverse-engineerable, instantaneous communication system/device limited to the representatives of countries be introduced to the setting? Be noted that it is "not meant to give any significant power to the reps themselves; if another rep replaces a current one they get the device, but rather to explain how they talk to and organise deals with nations on the other side of the globe", according to the suggestion.

According to the Eurasianist theory, if we want a Ukraine VS Russia scenario we need
>The Atlanticist Power
A maritime civilization.
Actively spreads its culture and ideals through commercial influence or direct imperialism.
Looks down on native culture as barbaric/primitive/uncivilized.
Intervenes in the affairs of their neighbours (Monroe Doctrine/EU)
Intervenes in domestic affairs of cultures they look down on.
>The Eurasianist Power
A terrestrial civilization.
Does not spread its culture and ideals actively, relies on soft power or led by example.
Prefers cooperation with neighbours of different culture, does not see them as uncivilized.
Promotes that different people are shaped by local climate, religion, and custom, and should not adopt a homogenous identity.
Keep the affairs of their neighbours to themselves. Only intervene when they actively others involved.

I actually have not, time to put it on the list.
So, this is the Brosnian Death Bear, aka, the Ursine Architect. I drew the design before writing the lore and came to the problem that I'd either have to redesign the bear or figure out how a massive bear like this would maintain their size and control their heat.
I think the idea of the architect islands being so abundant with resources that there's an insanely low chance of anything actually starving and I thought that could influence the kind of animal life that grows there.

>> No.22555558

>>22555086
Right, I saw it a few days back, a truly wonderful drawing currently trying to draw something and I'm not nearly as good as you kek.
So, figuring out how something is done is excellent, but in evolution you also want to figure out the why. How is this bear so damn big? Plenty of food to go around. Why is this bear so damn big? That's an important question, because in general just getting bigger is not a good move evolutionarily, it makes you require more food.
A good reason to get bigger is thermal management, as you say, but the islands are in a warm area so this wouldn't be the factor.
Another reason is defense. The prey the bear hunt might be fuckhuge and strong. In fact, both might have evolved in tandem, in an arm's race of increasing size and strength to be able to fight each other. This would have been possible thanks to the plentiful food allowing both species to grow easily, and the biggest specimen would survive better.
Also, the thick fur might act more like armor than as a thermal tool. Fur is very multipurposeful, depending on the amount of oils, trapped air, hair geometry, in can be both long and adapted to warm climates.

I had the idea that their ancestors may not have been originally from the island, possibly originating from southern glaciers that could have been sent adrift during volcanic activity. Being bigger allows for them to conserve more fat which can be used during their hibernation, it's a sensible adaptation to develop overtime if they hunted preys like mammoths.
If an animal like that was put into an environment like /ag/ where they could have an abundance of energy, they could still maintain that trait of stockpiling fat and being massive animals if the resources were so abundant, hunting no longer became an issue for them.
Going with the theme of architecture, I also wrote that the animals were intelligent enough to create large structural burrows to serve as their homes to protect from the heat, something that could be tied with a northern ancestor that could have built igloos to protect themselves from the cold. I watched a few videos talking about how animals dont really "unevolve" a trait, more like they evolve other traits that make certain phenotypes more preferable.
I'm not sure how accurate that would be to our current climate maps but the fetish continent and its islands due look like they were most likely one larger continent that drifted apart over time so I think that could be a good explanation that also implies other interesting things about the worlds prehistoric era.

>> No.22557601

>>22557231
>sent adrift during volcanic activity
Kind of unlikely based on current tectonic analysis. That said, it might be more possible if they came during the last ice age, when the water level was lower and the island was connected to the main island. The colder climate might also explain how the trait evolved in the first place before the planet got warmer.

/morig/ voting ballot, 2022-04-16
BC/AD
>/jp/-/vt/ split should be Year 0. BVT (Before /vt/) and VTE (/vt/ Era) could be the year symbols. JP and VT are ambiguous because those symbols also refer to vtuber generations.
What is the current year?
>Anything other than something between 1700-1800, that would be kind of boring. Maybe 860 VTE?

2. Based on the calendar discussed in 1., Should we decide on a loose thread-by-thread timescale? If so, please state your preferred scale e.g. 1 RL day = 1 in-game month. Be noted that non-concrete timescale e.g. "speed of plot" is also permissible.
>Speed of plot allows more creative freedom for the threads to have various events. Sometimes, nothing really important happens in a country for years, and sometimes dozens of important events happen in a week. A rigid timescale would cause issues in that regard. Here is a potential solution to have both an advancing timeline and full creative control: At any time IRL, /vtwbg/ would have a "current year" which is around where the events happening on the board are occurring, within a few years. And after significant events, /vtwbg/ could have a "Time Advances" vote, where advancing the "current year" by a few years is proposed.
>EG: The current year is 875 VTE. A new vtuber agency has debuted and a few new generals have been added to /vt/. /vtwbg/ votes to advance the current year to 885 VTE, and those ten years is when the agency debut and other current events have occurred.

>No. Doesn't seem necessary, if a thread wants a negotiation outcome to have an impact now, we can simply assume the negotiations have been ongoing in the background for however many months are necessary.

Ohh, that's neat! I will say though, Sunwalkers (which would normally be the only Rosebutas you see above ground) are nomadic in nature so if there was anything to crash into, it would probably be something more like a temporary encampment. Actual cities and such are located underground, with the Tunnelhogs, making them quite a bit harder to crash into with a boat.

Depends on how expensive fuel and piping are. You still need the water to be piped to your bathroom to use it but I guess it can be a bit more "primitive" and almost every building would just have a couple of small private baths near the actual boiler that tenants can use aside from the occasional public bathhouses.

The Eastern side of the country would be pleasantly cool most of the time so I imagine except for the big cities in the more sunny West and some mining towns East, public baths probably won't be that common. But that would really depend on the Republic's view on sanitation. I suppose if we have full-on compulsory education this early then having state subsidies baths and health campaigns won't be that far fetched.

A small piece depicting the first meeting between a Risuner diplomat and a Goddess Faithful priestess from /morig/.
The maiden's sleeve displays three pink stripes, denoting a high rank within the Shrine of the Purging Flame.
Reading OGsuner's entry, I envisioned Cahya as a cute fuckboy archetype, if he's meant to be much more masculine this can be some other Risuner

If you don't want public baths then privately owned baths can still work. As for sanitation it depends on your soap and water treatment. For Japanese public baths for example you have to wash yourself in a showe before you enter the bath. That can be the same for you here as well. You have to wash yourself with soap and water outside the pool before you can enter.

Not really saying I don't want public baths. Since the Republic is supposed to be pretty heavy on the public/state-funded projects. If they have a late modern view on sanitation there would no doubt be things like public baths to let the working class who can't afford piping in their homes to clean themselves. Whether they think that is the question but since they have widespread public schooling and a high literacy rate then they might as well have views such as this and place emphasis on personal hygiene even in the lower classes.

Uh, hold on, let me wake up a little more so i can weigh in properly. But for now, I'd say that the Republic holds a good sewer system in it's big cities that allows for proper waste management, houses would be connected with the system and so would they be connected to a water supply, I'll look into more examples for the time being

>> No.22566792

>>22566581 (me)
Also, this water supply would be in a different set of pipes to avoid disease, poorer or less connected households would have to grab the water from wells in the streets. Rural places would have to grab the water from rivers or local water supply and somewhat rudimentary pipe systems (maybe they'd be above ground or something)

I suppose to answer the water boiler question for /nasa/: we don't have bath houses. Instead we have public showers. Showers are segregated between men and women in the station. We do have "mixed" showers in the escape pods to conserve space. But those showers are tiny and can only support one Sanalite at a time. That said. Now that /nasa/ has an abundant source of water from the wetlands we're looking into construction of hot tubs. You still need to wear swimwear in hot tubs. Regardless hot tubs will help Sanalites rehabilitate their bodies after a long work week. I think /nasa/ will rely on wood-burning boilers for now. Once we get a gas or fusion power plant going outside the station then we'll switch to electric water boilers. Water pipes and pumps are pneumatics 101 for /nasa/. /nasa/ is an expert on pumping both gas and liquid fluids through pipes since that's a cornerstone of making a habitable space station. The difference between space and earth is now we have gravity. Gravity makes plumbing super simple. As we no longer have to calculate the station's rotation, momentum, and inertia into moving fluids.

Also space showers no longer have to worry about water getting all over the place. While in space Sanalites have to literally seal themselves in a bag to shower. The bag is to keep the bathwater from floating away in zero gravity, which is near impossible to clean up. You can soak up lose water with a sponge or a towel. But then when you dry those sponges and towels they have to be put in a vacuum chamber to dry. Gravity showers are a very nice change. Now water just falls into the drain. Baths should also be very popular with Sanalites. In zero gravity you don't get the buoyancy in a bath like you do on Earth. I suppose I can write more about living in space compared to Earth if anyone's interested.

uhhh year zero is the jp/vt split, maybe there are years before it like BC and AD, or not.

calendar same length as earth's georgian calendar, because that does very little to drive plot (for our purposes) enough to pour thinking into it.

speed of plot mostly, though I feel like time between streams should be lengthened somewhat, maybe streams are big events. i think this could help with pacing and add weight to the streams, whatever we describe them as in world.

1. I think using the split from /jp/ as year 0 makes the most sense. Using BVT/VTE in place of BC/AD sounds fine to me. There were some concerns about needing to count backwards for /jp/ events, but I don't think we'll be referencing them enough for it to be an issue. For the current year, I would just make it consistent with whatever we decide for #2.
2. I'm okay with having the constraints of a fixed scale to prevent us sliding into the next century too fast. Maybe something like 1 day irl equals 1 week in-universe.
3. No. I would personally suggest that the reps are diplomats from their respective nations who live in /vtwbg/, or if we need instant communication then something more secure like a ritual that lets them meet to discuss issues in their dreams.

Honestly I'm just now realizing I never got around to explaining them properly. It's essentially the only thing I'd consider magical with Rosebutas, it grows off of the same plant that births them and can be used to provide heat and light. The stones grow hotter and brighter when friction is applied, but will spark or even explode if rubbed against each other too violently. In other words, it's their light and heat source for surviving in their cold and/or dark environments.

Ok its what i have. Its definitely not much but I dont like to write too much long stories and perfer them to be short and to the point. This seems like an accurate response to how risuners would react to rose and their home anyway.

Sumargo logs ch 1.

Day of departure
This is one of the most historic monents that can ever happen in risuner history. After waiting for winter to pass were finally going to make the trek all the way to /rose/ and meet the supposed plant people
Reminder to give thanks to the kronies back home for showing me the route. I just hope that were skilled enough to actually get to it.

Day of landing.
Ok we finally landed! And holy shit is this place beyond cold! I know it wasnt going to be anything like our home land but what the actual fuck is this!? I never seen snow in my life it all feels so unreal.
Well anyway so far we havent found much. The land appears to be sustainable so were going to stick with our plan and set up a base camp. A few of us will venture deeper into the land and see if we can find any of the inhabitants.

Few weeks after landing.
At long last! Just when we thought this was going to be a failed expedition we finally got to meet some of the natives. They had some pretty interesting features and we were quite surprised at first. These "sunwalkers" as they are called are humanoid plants.
Very strange looking in appearance but so far seem to be nice and have helped us get around. The question is how the hell were supposed to perform a nut exchange with them. Not even sure if thats physically possible and unsure how im supposed to ask.
Main priority is as always to see if they have any nuts to trade as well as any gems. They mentioned something called rosestone which sounds very appealing.
So far I cant actually assess the relation between us until we speak to them a bit longer but they appear to be cool with us. Although i question how plant like creatures can live in such a cold environment. Something doesnt seem right here and its my personal mission to find out if theres more to this land then there appears to be.

I would like to propose this type of subdivision. In a nutshell, wactor has been recently divided into /wactor/ and /ワクター/, also know as the "taka taka" thread, which aimed futilely to filter newfags, SOPs and/or simply fans not interested in jp chubas from wactor. That's why it could be labeled in the northern part of the territory which is more "conservative" due to closeness to other indie corpo... if that makes sense.

Also, it'll be cool to have an additional region /sopa/ as that was the thread's original title, due to Misopa's unrivaled popularity as the first spanish speaking chuba in the agency. Eventually it was renamed /wactor/, but couple months ago some trolls anons tried to revive /sopa/ because, allegedly, she was the only one worth watching (language barrier stuff). The sentiment was eventually quelled but you can have some sporadic post like that. I dont know if it would be a region or a capital tho, that's why the two versions on >pic related.

I don't know if a territory is allowed to have capitals or subdivisions since I just began browsing this thread, but I heard some one call this region the third-world/latam region of /vt/, and well, since there has also been internal conflict among wactorkeks history it would be quite funny lol

Whelp. I can't sleep. So it is time to talk about /nasa/'s limits. The limits are as simple as the population. Even with capital to make jobs easier /nasa/ only has 5,000 working men and women. Another hard limit of /nasa/ is the lack of roads to drive vehicles on. And of course there's the lack of vehicles themselves. This means /nasa/ cannot transport resources efficiently nor in bulk. Which leads to a reduction in productivity overral.

Then there's the limitation of /nasa/'s location. There is only one useable river in the north that /nasa/ can use to transport goods to sea. However all of the resources are in the south. Forest and farmland are to the southwest and iron mining is to the south east. This means /nasa/ station itself has to be in the center where its kilometers away from the river. Meaning lumber has to be shipped by sea to the north river where it can be processed. Then lumber has to be delivered south to the station where it can then be transported to the mines in the south east. Ironically winter is a boon in /nasa/ because bread dogs can be used as sled dogs to haul resources across the snow. However during the spring and summer months the sleds are useless. CR-UST mech suits are used during spring to haul the farm harvest to the station as well as to pull logs to the docks where they'll be shipped to the sawmills up the northern river. Once winter hits CR-UST mech suits will be worthless as they'll sink in the snow. Due to climate /nasa/ is restricted to working on specific things during the season because of transportation problems. As /nasa/ developes their population, wealth, and technology transportation problems will be a thing of the past. This is the current state of /nasa/'s workflow at this time.

Welcome!
Countries naturally have subdivisions, but they usually don't show up on the map for readability reasons (as I assume the two splits are not in open hostility so far). I don't know if that region's particularly LATAM, although as far as climate goes it would mostly resemble central Brazil (Central-West and Northeast, with the coast inching towards Southeast) and Central America (roughly from Panama to Yucatan).

Made a rough biome map for /meat/. It demonstrates that climate and biome don't correlate to each other perfectly. Other non-climate features include forested wetland and mangroves that blurs the boundary between land and sea, as well as cultivated land. For /meat/, it is usually some form of milpas, where the more fertile riparian wetland (especially those alongside the Blood River) manage to support large-scale agriculture. Smaller-scale farmland also surrounds major cities like Matiriki to feed its population, with Geroberg likely relying more on animal husbandry and hunting across the savannah to feed itself.

Thanks for your effort, having it down on a map makes it much easier to visualise.
I've made some notes, hopefully I'm not asking for too much, since you're doing this out of your good will:
Firstly, keep in mind the volcano is a shield volcano, which basically means it's just a ginormous hill with lava at the top. That means it slopes gradually from the center to all directions, and the slopes aren't very steep (ignoring erosion damage etc). I'm not sure if you can make such a big hill in the program, doesn't seem like you would, so it might be fine to represent it as a bunch of hills going all the way up to the edges of the purple circle. Also keep in mind that the highest point in the country, the volcano, is like 1600m, so every other mountain is gonna be lower than that.
Another thing, the south area is supposed to have less sparse plant life. We get a good amount of rain so it won't be too empty, but not as luxuriant as it is now.
E/NE are fine, NW there would be forest s hugging the purple line for the mountain range up to the northern river, and some random trees and stuff northeast of that.

Legend of the pic:
>white circle
Most active point of the volcano, no plant life or any life in general
>purple circle
Where the volcanic hill ends, between this the white circle there are plants though, forests and such
>purple lines
Possible mountain ranges. I saw you have one running from NE to W, but considering the tectonics, these lines may be more accurate. The NE can probably stay, as it may connect to /rrat/'s range, but the one SW is less prominent, so the hills would be sparse. Also the hills/mountains won't be higher than 1200m, dunno if that makes a difference in the app
>light blue lines
Rivers, and that mass of lines in the center are the general area of the hot springs. Dunno if you can add rivers, but they help with town placements
>red x
Capital
>yellow x
Towns
>green areas
Farmland. Whatever there was there before, it's now reduced to flat farmlands

It's weird thinking about how this whole thing was only made at the start of this year. I feel like we've come so far in just a few months, honestly. I'm proud of everyone here for all the work they've put in and you guys should be proud too. This is one of the only threads I don't just lurk in and it's thanks to you guys for being so darn cool.
Hope you don't mind the little positivity dump, I may be a tiny bit inebriated.

/meat/head here
I think it's down to two factors
1. Novelty value
The shock factor and novelty value is gone. People now know there's a general full of ryona/vomit weirdos. Tourists aren't as much.
2. Purges
This is the major setback. With every thread pruned, interest plummeted. Our foothold was severed over and over. Just as we have a thread reach bump limit with over 100 IPs after several purges, we got pruned again and again.
So, less people visited because why bother when you're gonna get purged again. Killing the interest in its crib

Nice, it shaped up real great. If I were to point out a couple things, there's a farmland area to the east that you didn't add in, and the hot spring area wouldn't really be a massive lake ending with a river, but rather two moderately sized ones and lots of real small ones converging into a river. The hotsprings town would be next to some of the smaller ones, and the town you've placed halfway down the river would probably be the capital, but a bit closer to the springs.
Dunno the limitations of the program so tell me if I'm asking for too much lol

So, I have an idea, one that will probably give /risu/ slight gameplay(?) balance
In my Risuner forestry proposal, since us Risuners love the environment we would have extreme silvieculture. If we want to chop down a tree for timber to make treehouses, bridges, anything, we'll plant 10 saplings in return.
Like a reverse Australian aboriginal farming.
Then OGsuner proposed gem trees.
That got me speculating, and I loce spec-evo, how would excessive gem tree farming will affect wildlife.
So... /risu/ animals are affected by gem trees. Like how squirrels forgot where they store their nuts, resulting in new trees, previous gens of Risuners often forgot where they farmed gem trees. Lots of them.
Gem trees take a long time to bear fruit yet these trees are ripe but never harvested. Overripe, their vitubium energy leaks as the gem fruit rots and start affecting nearby animals.
Ruby trees make the birds into false phoenixes. Emerald trees make the regular trees grow even taller.
Also Risuners cant harvest every abandoned gem tree in time, by the time we clean up one acre, three more overripes creating a stable cycle.
Another thing to add is that Risuners are a mostly tree dwelling civ. Our villages are built along the canopies.
The absence of Risuners on the forest floor, aside from the specific ground trait Risuners like Moles and Prairie Dog risuners, means that the surface ecosystem isn't scared of Risuners

Ah yes I should specify gemtrees. Those can only grow underground on rock and need to be in near pitch darkness. I'll update the lore page later. Basically nobody on the surface will ever see a gem tree. Gem production is meant to be kept a secret from the major settlements and only known by witches, their small communities, and the select molerisuners that care to them. Sorry to make you overthink it but yeah nobody is just gonna stumble into one. About the surface ecosystem, well yes. Risuners might do a bit of hunting now and then buy with their diet being primarily nuts this would be rare. Gems will be mainstream in about 100-150 years since essentially each gem gets quadrupled when the tree grows.
