I'm not sure why myself since I've been watching her since before her pink cat model debut, and at around this time last year I was watching every single one of her streams, and I have a 2-year subscriber badge and something like $200 worth of pink cat merch. There's 2 ways I've used to capture video of Koikatsu
1. Use OBS. This is fairly straightforward, open Koikatsu as big as you want the video to be, screenrecord it with OBS (make sure your OBS settings are set up to capture the output to the best quality). Make sure when you click Record on OBS, you click back into Koiktasu as if Koikatsu isn't the application in focus it will be blurry. Use a video trimming application to trim to whatever you want; I use something called avidemux because its pretty fast and can do other stuff.
2. Use the VideoExport mod (https://www.patreon.com/posts/32172852).). This will get you the best results, you just have to get the mod installed properly which I found a bit tricky (its the first KK mod I installed so thats why it took me a while). You use this mod and it'll export the video by taking a bunch of screenshots and putting them together basically, so you get really good video quality with a good range of video formats. I use this exclusively since I installed it as its quality is better than OBS recording and you just click once and it'll do its thing. One thing to note is the process using this mod takes a while to run, as its taking all those screenshots, but the output is worth it.

But yeah I don't find it a big deal to watch vods personally, but some like the experience of watching live.
Nyan streaming at different times would actually help give variety for different time zones though. There are probably some fans who have been able to watch more live due to the late streams lately.

She just recently did a redebut a couple months ago with a new model. It's still a pink cat girl, but definitely a different design. It's not something she does often, in fact it's probably the biggest change since made since debuting as a vtuber in the first place.

At some point if a streamer becomes more successful you'd just have to accept the chat won't be as cozy anymore. I'm sure a bunch of people here could say the same for Nyan given how much more popular she's gotten overtime. Not her fault of course, just an inevitable thing that happens.

Her chat can be pretty nice on main too when she settles in with something. During the hitman streams chat slowed down to less than a 10th its normal speed, but views were still very high and when something exceptional happened the sudden burst of activity showed there were alot of active chatters lurking, they just didn't constantly spam shit.

I've also said that a lot, it's good for them and for some I'm parasocial enough to be happy for them, but for me when a streamer gets big it gets worse in many ways. I used to say except nyan because up until end last year even though she was one of the biggest vtubers on twitch her streams still felt the same to me as they did when she used the gray hair girl, but I can't say that anymore after this year, and she herself has said many of it is due to being bigger, like the increased anxiety about being on main, thinking streams have to be a certain way that's diffirent from how they used to be... Hopefully after whatever she's dealing with blows over it will get better.
