They could have done what Nijisanji does and simply private the video and unprivate it when they get perms, they did this when their Life is Strange perms expired, they had to private the existing vids, then they regained perms and they are unprivated now.

Pekora MGS, Towa's short Venom cover, Subaru FF6, a bunch of old Ayame streams and collabs.
A large part of 2019-20 hololive history including the old MC server shenanigans, the original AquShion neighbor war, and that's just off the top of my head.
During that time it kinda felt like a big portion of hololive's history itself was getting erased, and a lot of us thought this was the end of them.

But you also need to remember that Hololive at that point was on the brink of losing all connections with publishers had they not done their damage control reps. Mio's channel was about to be terminated since it was her second copyrights strike by Youtube. Cover's managing to come out on top of the Holocaust and re-establishing business connections with especially Capcom is nothing short of a miracle.

tl;dr Mio played an old capcom game, CAPCOM autism cops, much like other Japanese corporations, are hyper autistic about the "monetization of their intellectual property without their sworn permission" because they legit might as well believe copyrights, trademarks, and IPs are worth more than a human life.
