It is a good question, what is a day off? I do the same thing every day, on a day off you just have more time to do the same things.

Anyone that has to constantly make a point like Mori is lying. It's the only way she feels she can fit in to Japanese culture so she keeps the illusion up.

We do know from the testimony of more trustworthy people in Hololive that she does work very hard. I think the virtue signaling is less of an act to cover her laziness and more of an overcompensation to divest herself of the "lazy American" stereotype.

You think Erofi is such good friends with seiyus, artists, and other male talents because she's nice? She has a better genetic sampling on her lips than Ancestry. com

How would they know she’s busy aside from her directly telling them? Also blowing-off collab requests from them doesn’t inherently mean she’s busy with some other work.

>> No.22229971

>>22229259
Fair point, but she could easily keep up the illusion around them. It's not hard to look busy, especially if your content is almost entirely made by other people and you have a manager organising everything. What does hard working even mean to these people anyway? I feel like Japan truly fetishizes working hard to the point that it's become a standard compliment when talking about someone. Most Japanese people and companies are unproductive as fuck and take forever to do anything.

None of them are fucking busy they work less than an average office worker does but fans just let them get off with doing nothing with weak excuses.

>> No.22230183

>>22229971
Yeah, the Japanese style of hard work is not really considered hard-work anywhere else. It's about image of working hard but not about being productive.

I mean when you have a freelance job like Holomems, you really can say you are working every minute of every day the same way every CEO or start-up business owner claims. But frankly people really stretch the definition of what work is, just because you get paid doesn't make it work. Physical and mental labor is work. Socializing with your paypigs is not.

Literally true though (about Japanese people). I'm not saying she's not working, obviously, I'm saying I don't think she's actually working hard if it's such an important part of her self-identity/worth to remind everyone, constantly, at every given opportunity. She's an insecure poser and knows it. Suddenly got successful due to perfect timing, being a gimmick and targeting a tasteless fanbase that unironically thinks she's a genius and is now actually having to keep the illusion up of hard work because of this success, to fucking everyone, which is killing her. It's why she can't shut up about it because for the first time in her life, she's actually having to do something.

Americans are the same way, btw. Americans also have the same culture of staying late = working hard to virtue signal to the rest of their cowokrers. Main difference with America is you get even WORSE vacation days but the boss is unlikely to press gang you into having your social life rely on the business. Otherwise it makes it hard to fire you.

The thing is anon, some Holos and vtubers in general do put in a lot of work hours being streamers. Whether you consider this hard or not, it is still a job they do with passion. The real issue is when people like Ayame or HoloEN as a branch come up with every excuse under the sun as to why they are too busy to stream. It is insulting. I would rather they admitted they don't want to stream because of their personal lives.
