In a lot of other cases I feel like the character is a reflection or extension of the person behind the model, whereas in Mumei's case I always get the feeling that it's all an act (and not in muh seven layers of irony 600IQ mastermind /here/ ruse). For me it's just that vtubing is incredibly competitive. I can only watch 1 streamer at a time and keeping up with more than 5-10 or so becomes a chore, so anything that lowers or raises somebody even a smidge can alter their appeal.
