Selejo debuted on the 10th of August while everyone was waiting for Gen 5 debuts on the 12th. To be fair, this was back in 2020, when Nijisanji still had a valid claim as the top vtuber agency so I don't think this was done to undercut the hololive debuts but more because they didn't think it would affect them. It did. The initial hype of Gen 5 prior to the Aloe yab was huge. This was back when debuts crossing 50k was considered extraordinary and Gen 5 basically blew those expectations out the water.
