The general societal and technological level of the world is roughly equal to mid to late 18th century, right? I recently got this in my recommends on yt and it got me thinking a bit. It feels like we've had a fair amount of discussion regarding crops, but how are things on the animal husbandry front?
How much of the food production in your nation is made up of animal produce such as milk, eggs and meat? Is there any animal that is particularly popular/normal to find at a farm/ranch in your nation? Is there a particular divide between the different societal classes in what they have available?

An important ranching animal on /morig/ is the local species of Giant Sloth. It features the same densification and calcification adaptations as deadbeats, so it doesn't make for good eating at all, but it's an incredible draft animal, strong as they are. They're smart enough to be ridden with good saddles, but they're really large and not extremely fast, so they've only been used as mounts in a military context and in deadbeat vs deadbeat wars in a role similar to elephants, not much for transport. Their milk is also very thick and rich, comes out more like whipping cream than normal dairy, mainly because the sloths don't have a lot of body water.

I'm giving the final say to our representative, but I image some equivalents to goats, sheep, and cows would be fitting for /who/. Animal farms would most likely be much more prevelant inland compared to the coastline. I can imagine there being a species of canines that, similar to the existence of wolf dogs, would appear as a mixture of a fox and a dog and that this animal would be popular as both a companion, used in scouting/foraging either in tandem with or as an alternative to owls, and as herding animals on farms. They do however have a reputation as being fairly intelligent and mischievous if not disciplined properly during their upbringing.

Hooman who posted that proposal here. Sounds pretty good for me. Having the experience to build a shipyard that can construct metal hulled ships is already extremely valuable. For some old trade ships nearing their service life and a lease for a small shipyard /who/ can have knowhows and designs that would take decades to develop. Even though we can't obtain blue prints there's no much from stopping information corps agents infiltrating the construction site and making notes. [spoiler/] /Who/ would have experienced workers that can help the Republic to build more advanced ships later on plus improving relationship with the spaceman.

No the agents won't be aiming for the blueprints themselves. Even if /nasa/ bans foreign personnel from operating the more advanced equipments, constructing the ships takes time and manpower. There isn't much anyone can do to deter workers from making diaries about how the ships are built and complaining about their sanalite managers. /nasa/ can encrypt the blueprints anyway they want but that knowledge is gonna leak out passively overtime to those workers. There's also relatively little to stop agents from disguising as a worker, visit the shipyard and make detailed drawings either. Even just having a group of spacemen living in the Republic for an extended period is an excellent intelligence source. The information corps is smart enough that even if hardliners insist, prefers more passive methods of intelligence gathering in response to /nasa/ tech, especially projects that signal the bond between the two nations.

The problem with trading with natives is that eventually they'll start wanting to reverse engineer the things they see. If we followed the Grand Directive to its absolute conclusion then /nasa/ would be pure isolationist. If /nasa/ were to remain isolationist then we would never get the resources we need to fix the station. So its better to make friends and trade with them than to take their resources by force. I get the feeling that eventually the Grand Directive is going to fall apart. The question is will it be revolution?

I think the civil unrest arc of /nasa/ is coming to a close. The Principal lost his argument on amending the Grand Directive. The colony is also becoming too big to manage with centralized command. So independent companies will be established to ease autonomy. As long as the companies follow the law they are free to work however they see fit. The Principal's hard labor ends tomorrow. After that he will be a free man again. He just won't be allowed to invite natives to his personal quarters from now on. Sanalites will be free to work however they wish. /morig/ entry for the Shrine of the Purging Flame.
https://rentry.org/mad4g
postan' for the threadreaders
The Shrine of the Purging Flame

Deadbeats are famously protective of their faith, but this precaution was not borne out of nothing. Since times immemorial, the shores of /morig/ have been the target of raids, attacks, and in the far past, even invasions. Deadbeat has even fought against Deadbeat, usually over matters related to faith.

Recent centuries have seen an increased degree of unification in the Goddess's worship, which is surprising given the contentious nature of Deadbeats. Intensified activity on the Goddess’ part is partly to thank for this, but the Purges also played a role. The Purges refer to a tumultuous period in /morig/ history where the sword arm of the Goddess Faithful began taking a more active role in the cleansing of Goddess-doubting heresy on the island. Those decades saw many a brittle-boned unbeliever fall to the righteous blades, but most agree that the nation came out of the other better for it. As for the Goddess Faithful, this inquisitorial branch of the faith was formalized into the Shrine of the Purging Flame.

At the start, the Shrine was simply the group of priestesses tasked with fulfilling the roles of judge, jury and executor in all matters related to heresy against the Goddess. Indeed, while foreign faiths from visitors always were encouraged, attacks against Mori are not tolerated in the least. As the larger heretical groups were eradicated, the Shrine turned its eye to more underground movements, which required the development of investigative methods. Finally, once the island had been purged from the bulk of its anti-Death blasphemy, the priestesses, at this point known simply as the Holy Ghosts, established a proper intelligence network to sniff out signs of heresy and nip them in the bud, hopefully before harsh consequences are required.

Some see this as an overreach, but the general sentiment is that the Goddess Faithful, with their rigorous training and vows of secrecy in matters related to faith, can be trusted with this power. It helps that with the subtle influence of the Goddess present in the back of their minds, the Shrine has abused this trust minimally in its many years of operation.

In the past century, the Holy Ghosts have begun cooperating closely with the most trusted members of the Deadbeat Navy to expand its activities internationally. The exact scope of those foreign operations is highly classified; /morig/’s non-interventionist policy in matters unrelated to the security of the HoloSea suggests they are limited to intel-gathering and situations directly related to /morig/ nationals and the Mori Faith. Even for the most serious of those operations, the Holy Ghosts themselves leaving the island is unheard of; agents are picked out from the Navy’s sailors or even trusted foreigners as needed by the requirements of the mission.

How about instead of kicking /who/ out of the shipyard we stick to powered hand tools. We need the machines more for lumbering and mining anyway. Hi, /ybc/ anon here, sorry for the late reply.
To be fully honest I lost all interest around the time of the kronies yabs (around the time of the risu take over/canal discussions) and the few lore posts I made went completely unnoticed (not even added to the OP or anchored) so I kinda gave up and left it up to other /ybc/ anons to take my place.

Should a district make amonument or prove themselves worthy, the God/ess might descend to bless their people directly. Currency are diamonds = 100 emeralds, all of them mined locally.

Good luck! and enjoy your time

I'm thinking that, given your need for space to put all you structure to survive, you'll need to put the bakery 'dome' outside of our capital. We need to find the ideal place for it. Also, you can have a big bakery that sells your products to small bakeries all over our capital. You make a daily production and a business kronie buys your stock and and takes care of the logistics to distribute it.

Even more, what about a 'Sanalite' area on /∞/. Embassy, bakery, make a scientific complex for cooperative studies with our scholars; etc. We could also discuss the design of the materials you wanted to us to make for us if you bring engineers. Vote post, 2022-04-09

For all votes, please mark the vote with one of the options provided at the beginning of the vote. Elaboration is optional unless otherwise noted. This is especially important for issues where abstaining is NOT an option.
The vote will last for 48 hours, starting from the time where this post is made. The result will be compiled and posted within 24 hours after the end.

1) Should /vtwbg/ adopts a common calendar for the purpose of organising timelines and histories? Be noted that this common calendar will not be imposed on any countries in-universe (although they can choose to adopt it as well), but is used strictly to provide a common reference frame for international events and histories. If it is adopted, the exact nature of this calendar, in particular when is year zero set, will be voted upon in the next round.

The thing is, with principal losing the "war" and the hard conservatives winning in the end, all of our expansion plans are mostly thrown out of the window. And that would be because of the people now in charge: they look up to the Directive as a holy law, something NOBODY breaks. Yet, the man that was supposed to lead them attempted just that. They won't let that happen again. Which means that now the Directive is an iron law. (IRL example: imagine getting stopped for going slightly over the limit on a road, but instead of a warning or a ticket at worst, you get put into cuffs at gunpoint and sentenced to a year of prison time). Because their holy law almost got broken and thrown aside, they are paranoid, and will jump at even the slightest rumour of Sanallites breaking it(and may Sana help you if the rumour was true).

What this translates for this project specifically is that security will be at an all time high, and anything that might even remotely translate into a technological advancement for the locals, in this case /who/ (who have already expressed interest into our knowledge) will be hidden from them. So what we would be stuck with are this era's tools and this era's schematics for ships. ANYTHING that might stray from those, that would enhance the end result, while /who/ is around would be strictly forbidden. This is basically the worst possible outcome and i regret advancing the story towards principal changing the directive now, but hindsight and all that

>>22048272
Sadly, this also extends to the /inf/. A dome where we would live would need plenty of tech that you just don't have access to at the moment, so the conservatives would cancel it, out of fear of losing it, specially when the structure would be in an advanced nation on the other side of the globe. The "do not share the technology with the locals" extends to ALL of our technology, not only what could be used in war. Under that same rule falls the sharing of knowledge, so a scientific complex is also completely out of the question.

All in all, this development for /nasa/ deeply saddens me, specially since i was one of the main instigators for change, but had to bail out a few days ago due to real life, before the direction we should take was finalized. Unless an unexpected twist happens, i can only see us going down the route of a police state at this point, and i don't want any part in that.

Y.
For the next round, I suggest Year 0 to be the Japonia-Vitia split. I'm alright with the pre and after 0th year time periods being either eras that restart at 0, or follow the irl model of eg PVT and ADD (Pre VT and Anno Discidium Dimensiva), though I prefer the later.

For the next round I propose three suggestions, all time-related:
-Since we're bringing up calendars, I think we should also settle on loose dates; since Kizunai Ai first appeared late 2016/early 2017, which is when the first threads about her would have been made in /jp/, roughly 4 years passed until the creation of /vt/, which is only 1 years old. Assuming that we're at about 1700ADD after a year, I think it would be fair to assume that PVT there are 7000 of history. Obviously most of it would be lost to us, but it give sthe chance for older chuubas to boast of history spanning millenia. It also gives chance for interesting lore to develop, for example lost artifacts from the Ai era, or how the increasing influence of HoloEN in the last millennium or so before the split caused the rift etc.
-Similarly, I think we should also consider a loose thread-by-thread timescale. Again, assuming we're in 1700ADD after a year and two months (425 days for ease of division), that would equate to 4 years per day. Obviously that's way too fast; though it would speed up some projects like /nasa/'s, it' d be too fast for other anons to come up with things that would span for 4 years and may put them in a rush. This is supposed to be a fairly chill project so taking it slow is fine. However, I could reasonably see a day being equal to a week, if not even a month, as distances to be covered are vast and projects to be worked on time-consuming.
-Finally, I've suggested this before, but I would find it cool if we introduced some kind of communication device to explain the instantaneous communication between reps. It'd be magical/high-tech, non-reverse-engineerable and somehow bound to the reps or their higher council. That's not meant to give any significant power to the reps themselves; if another rep replaces a current one they get the device, but rather to explain how they talk to and organise deals with nations on the other side of the globe.

The bakery in /who/ might not be entirely off the table. The plan from the beggining was to have it be a pretty rustic bakery, by our standards at least, so there isn't any tech in it that you wouldn't already have. And your proximity would allow a steady supply of air filters to be shipped to the few Sanallites working there. While sharing the technology and knowledge is forbidden, the one exception to that is knowledge of gastronomy. That we always aim to push to the absolute limit of what the locals can produce themselves, so while we can't play any Breaking Bad with our ingredients, we will still expand your horizons with our bread and pastry.

Open revolt at this stage would just get cracked down on, the security department has all the CR-UST suits which can stop basically anything at this point, specially with our low numbers(think a few guardsmen going up against a space marine with nothing but spears). And if you are talking about harboring exiles, that is also not an option. You don't know how silent the D0G-GO units can be. And fast. And deadly. You would basically need to have us in an underground jailcell to keep us safe, and even then it's not a sure thing. Looks like I will be writing a letter of resignation. I cannot in good faith enforce the laws of /nasa/ as they are now. My priority always have been the survival of /nasa/ and its people, even if it means opening trade with native species. We have no support nor communication from Starfleet. This is why I was a firm advocate of the New Homeworld Directive. If /nasa/ insists on starving itself waiting for Starfleet to arrive then so be it. Be warned. When /nasa/ starves in isolation and poor working conditions then revolution will be inevitable.

I also assume the Grand Directive prevents the use of machines in mining, logging, and bans crude oil refinement. Which means we're going to be digging mines by hand using iron tools, not even steel tools. Good luck digging out the mines with unfit men with brittle bones I guess.

G'day /nasa/ Station. This is your principal Alexander Jason Steele with a broadcast. So the courts of /nasa/ Station has officially ruled that the Grand Directive is absolute and cannot be challenged. Therefore it is my duty as your principal to enforce the Grand Directive as the courts interpret it, which is absolute law. Therefore I will issue a new directive as your humble Principal. I as your principal declare the station to be under total lockdown. Yes, total lockdown. This means until the foreseeable future all power will be redirected to only essential systems: climate, air filtration, command, and medical. As of midnight tonight all non-essential services will be shut down including food processing, workshops, cafes, heating and air-conditioning, wireless internet access, among other luxury services.

This may seem like the most extreme way to enforce the Grand Directive as our quality of life will surely suffer. However the law is absolute. /nasa/ is to not influence the delicate cultures of this developing planet. Therefore /nasa/ must learn how to live as the natives do without any of our luxuries. We will have to hunt, dig, mine, and craft everything we need without modern tools. The human element is the weakest link in every security system. By restricting our access to these services we will do as the Romans do in Rome. We will work hard and diligently to build a new way of life alongside the technological advancements of the natives. When the natives enter the space age, we can return to the space age alongside them. I understand this also means we will have rediscover all of our technology all over again, as the blueprints of technology will be locked away. I suggest you learn as much as you can how to survive without technology before midnight.

I have faith in the Sanalites that we will survive these hard times. The systems will be locked with a hardware encryption key. Which means only a high commander or Starfleet or the principal will be allowed to unlock it. If and when the law changes to ease the absolution of the Grand Directive then the systems will return as the law dictates. Until then the systems will unlock overtime as the artificial intelligence sees fit as the world's technology grows. We have survived a half a year without Sana. And Sana has blessed us with her broadcasts. Those broadcasts will still be shown as Sana streams. And if Sana herself declares the Grand Directive to change then we will follow. If and when the commander of Starfleet arrives then he can also unlock the station however he sees fit. In the meantime tighten your belts and be prepared to work hard and sacrifice. The planet's culture and ecosystem is more important than our luxuries and economy.

Principal out. End of transmission. See ya cunts.

Republic Owl / Pecпyбликa Филин / République Hibou / 共和国 ワシミミズク
Library System of the Republic.

In it's efforts for centralization of education and existing information, the Library is there for such uses along with multiple subsections in cities and towns to ensure the free access to information and education to the people.
The state manages what it calls the library system, where all libraries in the Republic are organized after, it's goal is for every person in the Republic to have access to a library nearby them. To achive this the Republic has taken to building up such centers of knowledge in all urban centers, even small villages have relatively access to a library. Often times library managers will be taught basic education techniques for any children that desire to improve their reading skills, and schools have mandatory trips to libraries to foment the habit of reading in the youths.

Currently the biggest library in the Republic is the Central Library residing in an important city of the Republic, it acts as the headquarters of the Library System, and it is setup in such a way as to make sure there will be no book or document lost if a disaster were to befall it. Its concentration of books deals with anything from basic cooking recipes to collections of the legends and mythological stories regarding many sites of the continent. An important part of the central library is the somewhat large research center it has and the many professors that work inside it. Althought the structure of the central library was meant to be simple and easy to understand, some would argue that it is pretty much a maze. Book stores are commonly run by private enterprises, but they still have to deal with the guidelines set by the Library System in order to not be closed.

If a foreigner asks someone in the street about finding relevant information, the most common response will be to "check the library".

The Bubon Foxhound is a canid native to Northern /who/. Due to the nature of the region, details remain scarce regarding when the species was domesticated.

The carnivorous animal is known for its thick red coat of fur, pale underside and black tipped tail. Adult Bubon Foxhound tend to grow to be roughly 54-62 centimeters (21”-24.5”) with little variance between the genders. Found in the wild, they frequently hunt in smaller packs of 3-4, but gather in somewhat larger clans of around a dozen. These wild hounds are quite rare however, most are frequently found born and raised by the citizens of /who/ as either companion animals, shepherds or to assist hunters in tracking, chasing and retrieving pray anywhere from the size of a small birds to big game. It is not too uncommon to find them among foraging parties within the army.

It would not be strange to make comparisons between them and the owls of the Republic, both being highly valued animals and considered as friends of Hoomans. There are some key differences however. Much like the avian, depictions of the hound can be found in old scripts and murals depicted together with the Nameless One. Not sharing in the Nameless One’s owl-like nature, the Bubon Foxhound is not considered sacred in the same degree as the owls of the land. While any bond forged with an owl is made on their terms, the Foxhound is raised more typical to a domestic dog. Beyond any religious belief, this may be part due to their intellect and at times mischievous nature requiring them to be raised with discipline if they are to ever be able to follow a Hooman properly. As an example, even if raised well as a shepherd dog, it can at times be seen playing various tricks and pranks on farm animals when it isn’t “on duty”.

There are unfounded rumors that the aforementioned disciplining of these canine involved boiling liquid. The closest truth is that many owners report that the animal is not very fond of being bathed, and said owners admitting to at times joking about giving their companions steaming hot baths as punishment for misbehavior.

> If space-age tech exists in other cultures then we'll lift the lockdown.

The existence of space-age tech on this planet is irrelevant at this point. The lockdown has only been put into place to completely and utterly break Sanallites. And by that i mean their belief in the Grand Directive. Taking away all the luxuries they had under the guise of following the Directive will only serve to distance them from it. And since they are now on an even playing field with other cultures, some might be even more inclined to interact with them, deepening their relationships. All of that combined will eventually snowball into a full-blown "rebellion" against the Directive, and even the most staunch believers into It will have to bend. Or be ostracized by the now New Homeworld Directive alligned society.

Alexander Jason Steele is one crazy cunt, but he did what needed to be done so we can eventually prosper on this planet. This was his checkmate move after everything else failed. Now it's on us to come to the right conclusions, without others telling us what we need to believe in. And that is what the New Directive is all about in the end.

Principal wanted to change the Grand Directive so that we can be more open with the locals, and the conservatist faction did not like that one bit. The Holy law must stand. The end of that was the apparent victory of the conservatives, with sanctions being put on the Principal, and a heavy crackdown on anyone that might even think about breaking the Directive. It seemed all was going down the shitter, with the station going into heavy isolationism and a possible devolvement into a police state, but then Principal came out with a last middle finger to them, imposing a complete lockdown of the station, save for the basic systems we need to survive.

This is where we currently are. We have no tech, all of it locked behind protocols, and barely any people(we currently number a bit over 5k iirc). We were plunged back into stone age basically, due to the law of the Grand Directive. Hopefully, after a while, this law will give way to something more malleable and appropriate for our current situation: the New Homeworld Directive.

We are basically consistently nerfing our little nation, all in the name of fun. What is a story without it's ups and downs after all? We are always breaking and repairing it to try to make something unique, just like Kintsugi pottery.

I'm waiting for the riots to happen in /nasa/ as everyone raids supplies. They're not going to have nothing. Everyone is going to have basic rations, survival, mining, farming, weapons, and carpentry supplies. We'll compromise on refrigeration and keep the freeze dried food available as rations. As for the Principal seeking asylum for a few weeks where would be a good place to go? /who/ would be a bad idea because many Hoomans are upset with /nasa/ breaking their deal with the shipyard. Hell we lost the deal to buy a decommissioned ship to get started. So /nasa/ now has to invent and build their own ships from scratch. This also means no more easy fishing and produce trades among no more easy rations. I guess there's /rbc/. However that's the first place the mutiny will look. That leaves /rrat/ and /uuu/. The forests are hostile to technology. So I guess that leaves /rrat/. I think /rrat/ will encourage /nasa/'s chaos and take the Principal in until /nasa/ changes their ways.

There will be major violations of the Grand Directive as opportunists will loot technology from the station to smuggle it out to other countries. /risu/ might get their stainless steel tools after all. However they're going to have to spend gold in the black market instead of nuts. Same with /who/ buying mixers, blenders, and other non-powered appliances. Tech smugglers will be an excellent way for Hoomans to collect /nasa/ tech. It might cost a pretty penny but having the technology in hand is better than reverse engineering it from a distance. Be noted that this common calendar will not be imposed on any countries in-universe (although they can choose to adopt it as well), but is used strictly to provide a common reference frame for international events and histories. If it is adopted, the exact nature of this calendar, in particular when is year zero set, will be voted upon in the next round.

Personally, I think we should just embrace "Speed of plot" rather than any kind of rigid "real time:Vitubia time" ratio.
“There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen”
Something /nasa/ insurgency couldn't really happen with a rigid time ratio for example. I do have a proposal.
Once in a while, we put up an "Advance ages" vote. If it passes, "Current" time in Vitubia would advance by however much time, 25 years, 50 years, and all the events that occurred in /vtwbg/ activity since the last time an "Advance ages" vote passed would have occurred during those 25/50 years.
I think this would be a good compromise that lets us move the timeline forwards without relinquishing creative freedom.
Also, I would suggest that this vote require some kind of supermajority, maybe 75 or 80%.

Yes. I think it would be good to have a global calendar to help people in the thread with organization when necessary. Having the split from /jp/ serving as Year 0 makes the most sense to me as it's a global event that marks a new era for everyone.

My running assumption was that the reps lived in /vtwbg/ itself and periodically sent back news of their decisions to their homelands. For deals between nations, normal communication would have to be done between the heads of the countries or companies involved.

So any updates on salt deposits? Or are salt deposits so common that it doesn't matter where you find them?

>> No.22127364

>>22126771
AFAIK, there are two main sources of salt, salt pans, which are found in very flat deserts, and rock salt, which are found in mountains. Salt pans are probably more valuable, as the salt can be harvested without need for mining, and replenish themselves somewhat, though that may be too slow to be useful. I think a country having large deposits of either would be notable, but most cultures have access to some expensive, low purity salt through sea salt.

(excerpt) Khroniicles of our stay on Risu XII:
Risuners have never quantified time before we arrive, they would organize depending on work, leisure time and ritual, guiding themselves by heart and habit. When we started to work on our joint venture, we tried to introduce to them the division of time and the clock, which initially they rejected. Hard was the outlook for steady progress until we found a way to make them realize how useful organizing time could be. The breakthrough was explaining that they could organize their labor and nutting time to be equal, which they began to experiment about. So far, they haven't adopted a strict regime, but they started a routine of one nutting appreciation time per hour of labor. Because of that, and the difficulty of translation between languages, instead of saying the 'hour' o'clock, they say 'hour' o'nut (...)

Another idea about demi-human species is that they're chimera species. If they breed with a human species then only the human-part of their DNA gets altered while the animal part is untouched. The animal part of their DNA can be altered when they mate with males of that species. This could be how male human and female demi-humans always have demi-human offspring and how human females and demi-human males always have human offspring.

>> No.22134245

>>22133013
I should continue this. The animal DNA of the demi-humans is probably incompatible with other demi-humans. So it would be a human parent situation for demi-humans of other species depending on the mother. A Gura* Shark boy mating with a Risuner girl will always breed a Risuner. Likewise a Risuner Boy mating with a Gura* Shark girl will always breed a Gura* shark.

*Gura Sharks are the canonical species of shark Gawr Gura belongs to as she says she's a Gura Shark on stream.

I'm just a /nasa/ engineer who worked in aeronautics ever since the start of my career. And you know life really isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm actually having fun crunching numbers and trying to come up with ways to build a chimney out of mud of all things. I never thought I would have much respect for primitive materials. Now that I have to use them I'm finding a new respect on how our ancestors survived. Its not like the principal has left us with nothing. We have plenty of A rations, including baked bread. If we bust open the MREs then it would be in a week or two. We also have steel tools and replacement parts. Things would be much harder if we did not have axes, hammers, hand-cranked drills and screwdrivers, saws, ramps, and even pulleys.

I cannot say I support the Principal's actions in locking down the station for the Grand Directive. I do see his point. He wants every Sanalite to experience how hard life actually is when we're alone without technology. I can also see this as an opportunity to observe natives and see how they live to apply that to our lifestyle. I am sad that I don't have a way of sharing my findings with my colleagues instantly through message boards. I never cared much for social media. It is refreshing to get together with the lads at the camps for a nice hot beer after a hard day's work. Now that I have to interact with people face to face, I feel like we have a greater sense of community. And I fucking hate people. Instead of talking about how big our rockets are smashing Uranus, we're not talking about what we can do to work together to survive. The digital artists are working with how to make paint. The bakers are in charge of cooking the rations. The NEET kids are busy making games to occupy the kids too young to work. And Sherlotta, the office secretary, has started talking to me, the bookworm, about how we can organize the town. Sure half the Sanalites are screaming pink Wojaks about losing all of their social connections online. They're going to have to learn how to deal with real people eventually like I have. The work is labor intensive. But I have been sleeping better. Even in a space suit. Sherlotta has big plans for building our first village. I can't wait until she sees my charcoal kiln designs.

This will be my last lorepost for a while. I'm hoping to see other Sanalites stories on these times.

After some google search (there are so many questionable natural therapy sites...), it seems that the most likely candidates for allergic reaction suppression that can be found in food are:
>gingerol (suppress cytokine production), can be found in ginger (obviously), which can be grown in /meat/ and tropical/subtropical climates in general
>vitamin C (reduces blood histamine level), can be found in many food like citrus, which /meat/ already exports
Possible, but less likely candidates:
>bromelain (some reports it alleviating allergic reaction, while some others report it causing allergic reaction), can be found in pineapple (stem), which /meat/ already exports
>quercetin (reduces histamine release in vitro, can't find research on in vivo test), found in apple, which is more a temperate climate fruit
>magnesium (helps relax airway, which can lower the chance of suffocating due to allergic reaction, but probably not much else), can be found in many kinds of nuts, some of which /meat/ has

Overall, given that it's known that chuubanite (in general?) can increase the effect of psychotropic ingredients in shrooms, it's probably safe to say that the same can work for some of the ingredients above. /meat/ (and /risu/ I think?) chuubanite in particular has a high affinity to organic material, so it shouldn't be too far-fetched to say special /meat/ ginger and orange can alleviate allergic reaction. Probably not as good as taking an antihistamine injection, but at least it's much more plentiful and renewable.

It is not an entirely unexpected development, all things considered. Me and some others have been slightly nudging the idea of a police state for a bit now, so the new conservatist leadership staging a manhunt to kill the only man that ever opposed them isn't suprising, and only a first step in that direction. That being said, i already have a story in the works to stop it in it's tracks, which will also extend nicely into >>22151602

The bigger problem, which did kinda spiral out of control imo, is the tech looters. Personally, even if the station shutdown like it did, there shouldn't be many of them, since opportunists don't really exist among us, our sense of unity should be a lot stronger than that. We have spent over a decade in a tiny spacestation in the middle of space afterall. And then endured half a year of schizo raids and cold. Idk, it just seems like this development is coming completely out of the left field, considering our history.

The Principal is running away from the hardliner militia. All the way into the medical sector.
Without anywhere to go, he locked himself in the morgue. No one would expect him here.
Too late.
The bangings have arrived. The militia is right behind the door.
With every thud and creaks, dents began forming on its surface.
The Principal could only huddle in the corner, awaiting his eventual arrest.
All he wanted was to retire amongst the natives. But now his fate is sealed to be executed like a lowly inmate, regardless of decades of hard work he invested for his crew.
Louder and louder the bangs grew and with a loud crash it came down.
The Principal opens his eyes.
The morgues door is still shut tight. Still being sieged down by the militias.
Then what was that-
He looked to his left.
Slipping out of the morgue. A body. A figure.
He sees the broken panel on the floor. One that came from the very section this figure slips out of.
As the figure stands up, the Principal can make up its physique beneath the dim light.
A petite female, lightly tanned skin, her limbs are well toned yet her face is smooth. Her skin appears clean and shifting. Wait, he couldve sworn her skin was moving around. Like a fleshy exoskeleton.
The figure stared at the walls around her, glancing to her left at the banging door, then to her right at the Principal.
"Uh... hello... young miss. You might be the person our scouts rescued... we're having a bit of a situation right now..." the frightened man points at the door.
With an enormous thud, the morgue's door bursts open, as the head of a battering ram makes its way in.
The newly awoken female stepped aside from the ram. Looking back at the entrance.
With a blast from a plasma cutter, the militia finally tored down the morgue's entrance open.
One by one they marched in. Ready to fire at the Principal.
But what they haven't realised yet, is the figure in front of them. Untwirling her limbs like vines.
Before the Principal could close his eyes, a splash of crimson blood smeared across his face.

"Damnit!" he sighed. Stomping his foot down, venting pent up frustration.
It was a week since his party of adventurers suffered their loss. Yet he cannot let it go easily.

Their mission was simple enough. The Capital of the Holy Life Generalgouvernement had assigned them to investigate a mysterious anomaly somewhere in the Far Northwest of the Holo Continent. Locals mentioned a huge hamlet sized Citadel crashing down to the surface, inhabited by men in steel suits, glass helmets, and aided by pastry wolves. The rumours were intriguing. Not far-fetched for Admiral Jovial, Captain of the 1st Kronissiah Flotilla. He had seen his fair share of exotic anomalies in his travels. From the gladiators of Holofightz, to the golems of RBC. His experience in these situations made him the likely candidate to go on this mission.

His crew consisted of multiple Vtubium enhanced individuals from regions close to his homeland. A wizard from the Phoenix Kaiserreich, A markswoman from the Vispo Stratocracy, and a priestess from Matiyotl. Quite a bizarre composition of adventurers but he made it through multiple battles with them. As he and his crew arrived in the Republique Owl, his intuitions were right. The locals have made contact with the bizarre visitors that landed in the North.

According to the Hoomans, the visitors were famished of resources. Their home, the steel Citadel as they called it, crashed with all its advanced functionalities broken. As part of setting up a base, the men of the Ctiadel helped built a local bakery. In hopes of improving diplomacy and gathering manpower and resources. Not quite the strategy Jovial would've thought of yet it worked. The Citadel was able to be brought up, out off its crater, and landed on the tundral plains perfectly as intended. Not long after, they sent out diplomats to the Capital in hopes of getting more help.

However, they had fall silent since. Upon visiting the bakery, it is currently being run by one of the pastry wolves, or bread dogs as the locals called them. When Jovial asked the quadruple gluten canine on the situation of its masters, the bread dog merely whimpered in sadness.

Without any proper leads, the party stocked up on supplies and headed North.
Luckily for them, it is not winter. Even in the middle of the taiga and tundral plains, there were barely any snow and the air is bareable.
Unluckily for them, it is hunting season for the schizotrolls.

It took a day's worth of travel into the far North when the party was ambushed by a horde of schizotrolls. They growled and howled, they snarled and barked, and the tongue they spoke in brought stinging pain into the hearts of every crew member. The schizotrolls attacked Jovial and his party, screaming deranged nonsense in an eldritch tongue. Lenz, the Phoenix Wizard, was troubled the most. As he fought a troll, all they could say at him were "k̸̫̮͊Ḛ̶̛̻-̶̻̿K̴̀ȉ̴̩͕́ ̸̫̂͜h̴͇̬̐̾I̷͕̽I̷͉͆m̴̦̣̋i̷̺̜̓Ȩ̶́͠".
Lenz did not understand the language of the schizotrollls, but he felt the mental and spiritual attack from their words. As if they were personal.

It was among this confusion that a schizotroll tackled Xohildr, the Matiyotl priestess. Struggling, she could only scream as the trolls escape into the mountains. Faster than even Kaya could target them.

For several days the party travel, looking for their missing companion. Planning their travel in-between winds while the sun is up to evade any schizotrolls along the way. Jovial looked up into the hills. Thin layers of snow, grass, rocks, and several goats and oxens. Not a sign of Xohildr. Jovial gave a signal to Kaya and Lenz. It's time to go. As they travelled further North, Kaya found marks in the snow. Adjusting and inserting a chuubanite infused lens into her goggle, she's able to see tracks in the snow. Footprints. They are not of the priestess. But they are a sign of life. The Citadel must be close.

And so it is. It only took a few hours for them to see the structure of metal and glass above the hills.
"By the Kronissiah..." the Admiral spoke in awe. "We're here!"

To his right, he saw a couple of men in suits sitting in a makeshift camp. One of them is reading an oversized tome. A copy of the Imperial Bible. The man turns his head up and looks at the Admiral. "Oi! You mates mustve been from the Capital innit?"

That was cool, is this our first instance of combat against schizos on-the-page? Fearsome opponents...

my idea of schizo attacks is that they are psychic and spiritual. Since each schizo are cursed with knowledge of the true nature of chuuba gods, their attacks are personal cognitohazards to the believers of their target.
Such as implanting images of roommates into a believer. While they do not understand it, they know of its importance and how personal it is.
The Sanalites are able to fend off the trolls easily because they were used to mozzies and other false believers.
So when the trolls scream at the Sanalites how 'Sana never streamed, her dog died, bla bla bla', the spacemen could only reply with 'Yeah we know'

Makes sense. Also means that individuals who have a strong faith in their chuuba/high willpower would be more resistant to them, while more fickle followers would be vulnerable.
