Seriously, just the other day I was wiping down my guitar strings with a cloth, I looked at it and said, "LOL ITS YELLOW, LIKE YELLOW CAT," I tensed up so hard (especially my hands and neck) and gritted the sentence out as if it was the funniest thing in the world and as if that would make it less enraging, it didn't work - pretty sure I still tensed hard enough to burst a blood vessel in my eye. I just can't fucking handle it anymore, it's an absolutely fine cloth, but the fact it's literally the same color as Yellow Cat really, unironically, bothers me. It's right next to me right now and I seriously want to throw it away because it makes me want to strangle fucking Babi Cat.
I just can't take Yellow Cat anymore, it's getting ridiculous. If I saw Yellow Cat? I'd bash his head in. If I see a Yellow Cake? I'll pulverize it into flour with my fists. If I close my eyes? All I see is the lights behind my eyelids, and their brightness remind me of him. All I can see now is Yellow behind my eyelids. I think when people refer to debuts, they generally mean the corpo style where they go over their lore and talk about their interests for a bit. You can promote your first stream as a debut and do something else that's more likely to give people a reason to stick around with you than what corpos do.

I think using it as an introduction is pretty neat. Despite most of VShojo being a walking penis sex cum joke I did like how Nyanner's handles her "lore". She is hardly serious about it but the video makes you think it's serious. Constantly acting like a cutesy kitten or angsty endgelord gets cringe after a while. DM people for collabs just yell out on social media, the more people see your name the better. If you aren't being overly obnoxious, people don't care how much you shill yourself. In the end they will only see you for like 2 seconds before they scroll away from your post. As long as your twitter profile still looks like it's controlled by a human it's fine. If you enjoying that sort of stuff, create clips and throw them on tiktok / youtube throw your lot with the algorithm lottery. It's never guaranteed but i can't hurt either. Remember every single view you get could become a fanatic fan of yours that will increase your reach because they will shill for you too!


Now for an advice i haven't seen here, but i've been pissed i never remembered this from Marketing lessons!

Post your links and go live tweets only AFTER your "Starting Soon" period is over. If you want to get new viewers, you need to instantly pick them up! If you aren't talking the moment they visit your channel, chances are they aren't gonna wait 5-10 minutes for you to finally start your stream. Use the period to write up all the posts and then dump them once your model is already on screen and you are greeting people / starting to play. The first seconds are crucial to get new people interested! How often did you click on another small vtuber just to listen to music for 10 minutes and get bored before they even show up? You don't want that happen to you. This might be something minor, but it's an easy fix and might help!

It's probably best to start streaming before you contact anyone wanting to collab or making friends with other indies. Having a back log of at least a month of proven streaming capability would make you more suitable for marketing. A few tweets about "my model is done! will stream soon!" is okay. Just don't get starry eyed and think it'll be that easy without having ever streamed anything. It's not like in Hololive or Nijisanji where you're put in front of thousands of people right off the bat. Redoubts are common with indies since they gain an audience over time and usually get a nicer model warranting said redoubt. Just start streaming and keep the vtweeting to a minimum until you have a following. It's a tough world out there.

Twitch copyright is extremely lax. You don't get a strike for most things these days, they just mute the VOD. There was a period of a lot of strikes but that's died down to next to nothing. Streamers play copyright music all the time. You could just set it to not record in the VOD in OBS as well.

These are the biggest factors in this audition I'd say. Sure, having bigger numbers is going to make you look better then others, but scraping CVs via keywords and then downloading all the videos locally lets you mash through them. The biggest thing to remember is to never, ever, ever say anything that would out you as a superfan or an autist. That shit will 100% get you shut down YEARS before low numbers.
Productivity wise you're going to scrape like 500 of the 'better' auditions, then split it with your coworkers or some shit to make it easier to do a second pass. Anyone who has views but low retention is likely making it past the post on the first glance, so they're getting stored locally for later. It's also pretty unlikely for any poor bastard working as a corporate slave for Anycolor that they even HAVE the resources to scrape hundreds of thousands of Google Drive sheets in anyway but manually.
